Wim Wenders: “Christian Rothmann is an explorer of unknown color alphabets. He paints atlases of new symbols.
He creates maps of undiscovered regions full of puzzling forms. He serves as a guide through the heretofore unseen
grammar of images. He discovers games for which no one knows the rules – but which immediately become clear.
He declines colors and forms on paper and canvas. He is an etymologist of the language of painting. I recommand
you to come to a full stop when viewing his work.“
Christoph Tannert: “Rothmann is a full-blooded painter, one who sings and stirs and tastes with his paint-brush. His
paintings are so sensuous that they almost transform into a kind of all-consuming passion. One would like to climb
