IMPORTANT
INFORMATION
SAFETY ON COUNTRY ROADS IS A
SERIOUS MATTER - PLEASE READ THE
FOLLOWING SAFETY TIPS.
The Shire of Kulin is home to a bustling farming community,
the surrounding roads play an important roll in the operations
of this thriving industry. Roads throughout the Wheatbelt are
frequented by trucks, tractors and other farming machinery
which can pose a danger to road users if common sense and
appropriate caution is not applied. Please observe all road
signage and avoid taking unnecessary risks.
If you choose to stop or slow down to view the tin horses,
please remember to:
• Pull well off the road and put your hazard lights on.
• Choose a clearly visible, safe place to pull over.
• Look out for other vehicles – Country roads may seem
deserted but cars and trucks travelling at high speeds can
appear suddenly and without notice.
• Be aware of slow moving vehicles and other tourists.
• Stay alert and apply caution at all times
PLEASE VISIT
AGAIN SOON!
WHO KNOWS WHAT YOU MIGHT
SEE THE NEXT TIME YOU DRIVE
THE TIN HORSE HIGHWAY?
The Tin Horse Highway is an ongoing and dynamic community project
with new and interesting characters being created all the time.
Behind closed doors new and increasingly cheeky Tin Horses are
being constructed by patrons of our community who have developed a
friendly one-upmanship with fellow tin horse pioneers. New additions
can be seen popping up all over the place, larger, more colourful,
cheekier than the last. You’ll never know what you might see the next
time you drive the Tin Horse Highway.
Feeling creative? Every October, Kulin holds a competition for the
best new Tin Horse as part of the Annual Kulin Bush Races weekend.
Entry is free, and your creation could well become the newest
attraction along the Tin Horse Highway.
