Herstellung
Die Fertigung der HOLZTIGER-Spielwaren erfolgt in aufwändiger Handarbeit. Es
beginnt mit dem Aufstempeln der Profile auf Holzbretter, anschließend werden die
Figuren ausgesägt und in verschiedenen Arbeitsgängen Oberflächen und Kanten geschliffen. Dann erfolgt eine Grundierung des Holzes und danach ein Feinschliff. Das
Resultat ist eine besonders schmeichelnde und angenehm weiche Oberfläche. Nächster Arbeitsschritt ist die Bemalung von Hand mit Wasserfarben. Um die Spielfiguren
schweiß- und speichelfest zu machen wird abschließend -ebenfalls von Hand- jede Figur
mit einem Wasserlack lackiert. Zum Schluss wird das HOLZTIGER-Logo eingebrannt
und nach einer letzten Qualitätskontrolle geht es ab in Richtung Kinderzimmer
Spielwert
Kinder lernen, indem sie die Gegenstände ihrer Umgebung erkennen und begreifen
und die Tätigkeit der Großen nachahmen. Am Anfang wird die Umgebung erforscht, die
Kinder lernen Haus- und Hoftiere kennen oder entdecken im Zoo oder Wald neue
und unbekannte Tiere. Mit den HOLZTIGER-Spielfiguren kann das Erlebte wiedererkannt und nachgeahmt werden.
Damit Spielen und Lernen auch die Phantasie fördern, sind die Formen der Figuren
auf das Wesentliche beschränkt. Das Ergebnis sind zeitlos und formschön gestaltete
Holztiere, mit denen Kinder ihre Phantasie beim Spielen mit Spaß und Freude voll
entfalten zu können.
Farbigkeit
Der HOLZTIGER bemalt seine Figuren mit Acrylfarben auf Wasserbasis (sogenannte
Wasserfarben). Diese sind ungiftig und die Holzmaserung ist nach der Bemalung immer
noch erkennbar, der Charakter des Holzes bleibt so erhalten. Bei der Farbauswahl hat
der HOLZTIGER nicht mit frohen und kräftigen Farben gespart. Kinder reagieren auf
kräftige Farben, denn die Farben regen die Kinder zum Entdecken und zum (Be)Greifen
an. Der farbenfrohe Eindruck wird schließlich durch den freundlichen Gesichtsausdruck der Figuren ergänzt.
Spielzeugsicherheit
HOLZTIGER-Spielfiguren entsprechen den europäischen Sicherheitsbestimmungen
für Spielzeug (DIN EN 71). Die ungiftigen Farben und Lacke unterliegen darüber hinaus der ständigen Kontrolle durch die Landesgewerbeanstalt Bayern. Daneben erfüllt
HOLZTIGER freiwillig weitere Anforderungen an Qualität und Sicherheit. So sind alle
Spielfiguren durch die Lackierung mit einem seidenmattglänzenden Wasserlack auch
schweiß- und speichelfest. Ein HOLZTIGER-Wal „überlebt” deshalb auch einmal einen
Ausflug ins Badewannenmeer ohne Farbverlust!
Für welches Alter?
Die HOLZTIGER-Spielfiguren sind groß und griffig und haben abgerundete weiche
Formen. So sind sie auch für Kleinkinder ab 3 Jahren zum Spielen und Greifen geeignet.
Eine obere Altersgrenze gibt es bei HOLZTIGER nicht, auch Erwachsene erliegen dem
Charme der Spielfiguren.
Material
HOLZTIGER-Spielfiguren werden aus Holz gefertigt. Holz ist von Natur aus frei von
Schadstoffen und ist als nachwachsender Rohstoff besonders umweltverträglich. Um
der harten Belastung beim Spielen gewachsen zu sein, verwendet der HOLZTIGER zur
Herstellung nur Harthölzer. Die meisten Figuren werden aus Ahorn gefertigt. Diese
Holzart ist nicht nur hart und widerstandsfähig, sondern zeichnet sich auch optisch
durch eine dezente und formschöne Holzmaserung aus. Daneben werden je nach Anforderung auch Eiche, Buche oder Birke verarbeitet. So entsteht ein langlebiges, hochwertiges und ökologisch verträgliches Qualitätsspielzeug.
Manufacture
HOLZTIGER toys are all handmade. First of all, the contours are stamped out on wooden boards, then the figures are cut out with a saw. A number of different steps follow
to smooth off the rough surfaces and edges.
The wood is then primed and finish-sanded - a process which results in a particularly
smooth and soft surface. Next, the figures are hand-painted with water paints.To make
the figures resistant to perspiration and saliva, each figure is subsequently painted - also
by hand - with a water lacquer. Once the HOLZTIGER logo is burnt in, the final step
is a trip to quality control before the wooden figure is released for its journey to the
playroom!
Playing quality
Children learn by touching and identifying the objects around them and by imitating
the actions of their elders. Initially, they explore their immediate environs, become
acquainted with house pets and farm animals and then go on to discover new and
unknown animals in the zoo or local forests. The identification factor of HOLZTIGER
toys with these experiences is high, allowing children to relive what they have learnt in
real life or nature. And to make sure that playing and learning also stimulates a child’s
imagination, the forms of the figures are reduced to the minimum. The result? Timeless
and beautifully stylised wooden animals which allow a child’s imagination to develop
fully while playing and having fun.
Paints and colours
HOLZTIGER paints its figures with water-based acrylic paints (so-called water paints),
which are totally non-toxic. The grain of the wood is still visible even after painting, so
that the full character of the wood is retained.
In choosing the colours for its wooden figures, HOLZTIGER dipped into all the most
colourful pots, because vibrant colours are known to awaken a child’s desire for exploration and discovery. The rich colours are complemented by the friendly faces painted
onto the wooden figures.
Product safety
HOLZTIGER wooden figures conform with the European Directives for Toys (DIN
EN 71). The non-toxic paints and varnishes are furthermore subject to constant quality controls by the state supervisory authorities. Over and above this, HOLZTIGER
makes additional voluntary commitments to quality and safety. For example, every
wooden figure has an additional topcoat of satin-finish water paint to make it resistant
to perspiration and saliva. A HOLZTIGER whale will even “survive” a short swim in the
bathtub without its colours fading!
What age group?
HOLZTIGER wooden figures are large and chunky with rounded edges, meaning that
even infants over the age of 3 can play with them in safety. There is, however, no upper
age limit for HOLZTIGER wooden figures - even adults can’t resist the charm of the
wooden figures.
Materials
As their name implies, HOLZTIGER wooden figures are made entirely of wood.Wood
is by nature free from pollutants and as a sustainable raw material, has no negative
impact on the environment.To meet the challenges posed by hard playroom conditions,
HOLZTIGER uses only hardwood, whereby most of the figures are made of maple.
Maple is not only hard and durable, but is also characterised by attractive graining.
Dependent on the requirements, oak, beech and birch are also used as well as maple.
So when you buy a wooden toy made by HOLZTIGER, you can be sure that it is
not only durable and ecologically sound, but that it also meets the highest quality
requirements.
