ADDITIONAL SERVICES: In addition to deviated fixed route services,
our diverse transportation program also includes: Demand Response,
Medicaid, Reach Up, Elderly & Disabled, and Private Pay.
LOST AND FOUND: The Green Mountain Community Network, Inc.
cannot be held responsible for items left in our vehicles or on the
premises, however we will retain any found items for one month.
VOLUNTEERS (Per Diem): We are always recruiting volunteer
drivers. These folks use their own vehicles to provide many special
trips; drivers give their time but are generously reimbursed for
mileage, it is a critical service delivery role, there are many times
and destinations available. Please give us a call!
How to use this booklet:
This booklet is designed to be held horizontally.
FUNDING: Funding in part provided by Vermont Agency of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration. We also thank our
sponsors for their support. Contact us on how to become a sponsor.
SAFETY PLEDGE: Safety is our highest priority. Ongoing measures
include driver background checks, random drug and alcohol tests,
daily vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance; We also
ensure our volunteer’s privately owned vehicles have up to date
inspections, seat belts and are clean and comfortable. We pledge
to constantly renew our efforts toward safety and continuously seek
new programs and opportunities to increase safety on our system.

To ensure everyone has a safe and comfortable journey,
the following must be observed while riding with GMCN.
GMCN drivers have to right to refuse service to those
who do not comply with the code of conduct listed here.
• Please stay seated, keep aisle clear and do not disturb
other passengers.
• Seats in front of the bus are reserved for elders, passengers
with disabilities and those needing child seats.
• Use headphones when listening to personal electronic devices.
• Keep all food and beverages in closed containers.
• Use the trash bin in the front of the bus.
• For safety and sanitary reasons, all passengers are required
to wear shoes and shirts, and limit odors that disturb other
passengers.
• Offensive language including, but not limited to, racial slurs
or derogatory remarks based on race, gender or sexual orientation is prohibited on
GMCN vehicles.
• Seat belt use is suggested on buses.
• Articles which, because of their size or the nature of their
contents, may be dangerous to passengers shall not be allowed on the bus. Articles prohibited on GMCN buses include
but are not limited to: car batteries, gasoline, kerosene, or
any other flammable liquid; weapons including but not limited
to guns or knives; illegal drugs; open containers of alcohol;
animals, other than service animals for the disabled, except
those animals that can be carried in a closed bag or carrier;
any article that cannot be safely held by a passenger or
stored underneath a seat that could have potential to hurt another passenger if it were to collide with that passenger during an unscheduled stop.
• It is a serious health risk to all passengers to allow patrons
whose bodily fluids are exposed to ride the bus. Passengers
who are experiencing this condition will be removed from the
bus or denied access to the bus. This includes, but it not limited to bodily eliminations, saliva, and blood.
• Passengers are required to pay the proper fare for all
GMCN transportation.
Bring Your Bike on the Bus
Most GMCN buses are equipped with bike racks
available on a first-come first-served basis. Follow
these three simply steps to “bike and bus”!
1. Lower bike rack and
place bicycle tires in
the frame.
2. With bike in place,
pull spring-loaded
clamp over your front
tire. Always confirm
that your bike is secured in the rack before getting on the
bus. The driver can
provide verbal assistance if needed.
3. To remove your
bike, pull the clamp up
to release and gently
fold it down to its starting position. Remove
your bike and ride
safely!
Bike racks hold a maximum of 2 bikes, including
children’s bikes, and are available on a first come,
first served basis. Questions? Call GMCN at
802-447-0477.
