Namen und Nachrichten aus der Fakultät und aus der Gesellschaft
Am 12. November 2015 fand der Herbst-Gremientag der Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft statt. Im Mittelpunkt der Sitzung stand das Streitgespräch von
Herrn Marcel Fratzscher, Ph.D., Prof. Dr. Christoph Schmidt und Prof. Michael
Burda, Ph.D., die zum Thema „Arm versus Reich – Wie geht man mit Ungleichheit in
der Marktwirtschaft um?“ sprachen.
Berufungen an die Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Fakultät seit Mai 2015
Herrn PD Dr. Bernd Droge wurde mit Urkunde vom 26.6.15 die Würde eines außerplanmäßigen Professors verliehen.
Frau Prof. Dr. Florentine Schwark hat am 1.1.2016 den Dienst als W1-Juniorprofessorin für Makroökonomie und Finanzmärkte angetreten.
Herr Prof. Dr. Ulf Brüggemann hat den Ruf auf die W1-Juniorprofessur für Accounting (mit Tenure Track) angenommen und den Dienst am 1.3.16 angetreten.
Herr Prof. Dr. Jochen Kluve hat den Ruf auf die unbefristete W3-S-Professur für
VWL "Empirische Arbeitsmarktökonomik" angenommen und den Dienst am 1.4.16
angetreten (fortgesetzt).
Das Präsidium der HU hat Herrn Prof. Dr. Lutz Hildebrandt und Herrn Prof. Dr.

Titel: “Facetten der Macht – Welche Kräfte treiben unsere Gesellschaft“
Internationalisierung des Studiums durch Reisekostenstipendien der WWG
Für das Jahr 2015 lagen 50 Anträge für Studienaufenthalte überwiegend im europäischen Ausland vor. Alle Anträge auf einmalige Reisekostenstipendien werden im Rahmen des zur Verfügung stehenden Budgets ohne zeitliche Befristungen nach Leistungskriterien begutachtet und entschieden.
Reisekostenzuschüsse der WWG für Doktoranden und Habilitanden
Für das Jahr 2015 lagen 11 Anträge für die Unterstützung von Reisekosten vor, die für
Vorträge auf Konferenzen unter anderem im europäischen Ausland und in den USA
genutzt wurden. Alle Anträge auf Reisekostenzuschüsse werden begutachtet und in
Abstimmung mit dem Dekanat wird über die Vergabe im Rahmen des zur Verfügung
stehenden Budgets entschieden.
Deutschlandstipendien der WWG
Die Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Gesellschaft hat für das Jahr 2014/15 zehn Deutschlandstipendien vergeben und für das Jahr 2015/16 weitere zehn Stipendien finanziert. Im Jahr 16/17 sind weiter 8 Stipendien von Mitgliedern der WWG gestiftet worden. Dieses Engagement der Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft soll in den
nächsten Jahren fortgesetzt werden.
Promotionsstipendien der WWG
Die Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Gesellschaft hat für das Jahr 2015 dem BDPEMS
drei Stipendien für Doktoranden der Fakultät im Rahmen dieses Programms zur Verfügung gestellt. Auch dieses Engagement wird in den nächsten Jahren fortgesetzt.
Internationale Studierendenmobilität
Studierende erhalten mit dem ERASMUS-Programm die Möglichkeit, in einem anderen Land zu studieren und/oder ein Praktikum zu absolvieren und damit neben den
fachlichen auch ihre sozialen und kulturellen Kompetenzen zu erweitern. Dabei lernen sie z. B. das akademische System einer anderen Hochschule im Ausland kennen
und profitieren von den unterschiedlichen Lehr- und Lernmethoden. Nach Abschluss
des ersten Studienjahres bis einschließlich zur Promotion können Studierende für einen Studienaufenthalt zwischen drei und zwölf Monaten an einer ausländischen

Gasthochschule studieren. Erasmus-Studenten zahlen keine Studiengebühren und
ihre Studienleistungen werden an der Humboldt-Universität dank des European Credit Transfer Systems und der aufgeschlossenen und hilfreichen Mitarbeiterinnen im
Prüfungsamt in der Regel ohne Probleme anerkannt.
Outgoings
Die Kennzahlen im Bereich der Studierendenmobilität sind weiterhin auf einem erfreulich hohen Niveau. Derzeit nehmen 91 Studierende der Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultät am Erasmus-Programm teil. Für das akademische Jahr 2016/17
konnte das international Office 96 Studienplatzzusagen vergeben. Ein Auslandssemester ist mittlerweile fast zu einem Standard in studentischen Lebensläufen geworden. Die Wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Fakultät macht es ihren Studierenden besonders über das Erasmus-Programm möglich, sich wertvolle Qualifikation anzueignen
und gleichzeitig eine neue, internationale Perspektive zu erhalten. Die Studierenden
im Erasmus-Programm erhalten einen Mobilitätszuschuss von 150-200 EUR pro Monat. Hiervon kann man nicht unbedingt Leben – das Stipendium kann aber die zusätzlichen Kosten durch Umzug und eventuelle Pause im Studentenjob abfedern. Besonders motivierte und qualifizierte Studierende können sich bei der Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft zusätzlich um ein Reisestipendium bewerben. Diese zusätzliche finanzielle – und auch ideelle – Unterstützung ist für unsere Studierenden ein
zusätzlicher Anreiz, sich in das Abenteuer Auslandsstudium zu wagen!
Incomings
Im Sommersemester 2016 studieren insgesamt 86 Austauchstudierende aus 19 verschiedenen Ländern und Regionen an der Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultät. In
Zusammenarbeit mit dem Studentenrat, also der verfassten Studierendenschaft der
Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Fakultät, bietet das International Office ein weit gefächertes Betreuungsangebot für die Studierenden an. Dazu gehören neben der akademischen Beratung und fachlichen Betreuung auch landeskundliche Exkursionen, kulturelle Events, Themen- und Filmabende, Sprachtandem, traditionelle Feste, Kochabende und vieles mehr. Dies soll die Integration in Berlin erleichtern. Ausgewählte
Aktivitäten werden von der Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Gesellschaft unterstützt.

BDPEMS – Berlin Doctoral Program in Economics and Management
Sciences
Eng vernetzt mehr bewegen
Das Berlin Doctoral Program in Economics and Management Science ist eines der führenden Doktorandenprogramme in Deutschland. Die unterschiedlichen Schwerpunkte der verschiedenen Institutionen ermöglichen den Doktoranden nicht nur eine
akademische Ausbildung auf höchstem internationalen Niveau, sondern darüber hinaus den Umgang mit den vielfältigsten Fragestellungen, welcher in diesem Umfang
an anderen Forschungsstandorten kaum geboten werden kann.
Das Netzwerk des BDPEMS setzt sich zusammen aus renommierten Expertinnen und
Experten folgender universitärer und außeruniversitärer Forschungseinrichtungen:
• Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (HU)
• Freie Universität Berlin (FU)
• Technische Universität Berlin (TU)
• European School of Management and Technology (ESMT)
• Wissenschaftszentrum für Sozialforschung Berlin (WZB)
• Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW)
• Hertie School of Governance
Bereits 2003 haben sich diese Institutionen zusammengetan, um eine rigorose, nach
international höchsten Standards ausgerichtete Doktorandenausbildung zu ermöglichen, die den angehenden Forschenden das notwendige Rüstzeug für eine erfolgreiche akademische oder außerakademische Karriere gibt.
Das BDPEMS blickt bereits jetzt auf viele erfolgreiche Abschlüsse zurück. Die Absolventinnen und Absolventen haben leitende Positionen in Unternehmen inne oder
sind an internationalen Forschungseinrichtungen tätig. Stipendien werden u.a. von
der WWG vergeben.

The Review of Economic Studies May Meetings have been held annually in May since 1989. Every
year, in line with the Review’s tradition of encouraging the work of young economists, seven of the
most promising graduating doctoral students in economics and finance in the world are selected to
present their research to audiences in Europe. The meetings take place at the economics departments or institutes of three or four universities across Europe. Standard seminar presentations are
given over two days to audiences invited by the local hosts and which include members of the journal’s editorial board.
