Full game schedule available at www.cbchartwell.org January, 2015 Dear Cornerstone Family, We begin the New Year running. The first weekend our Youth are attending the MOVE Conference in Athens; our College & Career (Singles 1) are in Atlanta at the Passion Conference; and on the first Sunday, the Men’s Ministry Breakfast at 8:00 AM begins the day and we conclude our day with the Lord’s Supper worship at 6:30 PM. Someone each month looks at our calendar and comments about how full it is or how busy we are. The truth is that for us the January calendar is normal - we are involved in His Kingdom work with ever age group in our church and in every segment of the ministry; therefore, the calendar is full. A “Night of Hope” on Sunday, January 18 will feature and be led by Buddy Mullins, a recent inductee into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Buddy has a heart for missions and works with and through Hope for the World. The Sheltons (India) and the Bannisters (Honduras) both serve under the Hope for the World umbrella. This “Night of Hope” will help us as Great Commission Christians to have a knowledge of the work being accomplished around the world. Yes, our calendar is full - from the MOVE Conference (2-3); Passion Conference (2-4); Men’s Breakfast (4); Hebron Association Senior Adult Rally (15); Youth Connect Weekend (16-18); Sanctity of Life Sunday (18); A Night of Hope Mission emphasis (18); the Right to Life March at the Capitol in Atlanta (22); Ladies Brunch (24); and Ladies Gideon Bible Study (25 & 27); plus all of our weekly and monthly activities and programs. WOW! Just reading through them, I feel like I have run a marathon - Join the RACE and “press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14) I love being . . . Your Pastor, Women’s Ministry Tuesdays at 7:00 PM in the FLC. Could it be that your weaknesses are the keys that unlock God's strength? Through a look at the life of Gideon, you can discover that instead of ignoring, neglecting, or trying to escape your weaknesses, you can see them as the gifts, given specifically and strategically by God to unlock the door of God’s strength. Call the church office if you are interested in this Bible Study so that we can order the books. Men’s Breakfast on January 4, 2015 in the Family Life Center at 8:00 AM. Men will be providing the meal on Wednesday, January 7th at 6:00 PM Men’s Conference at Woodstock FBC January 30 - 31, 2015 Tickets $65.00 and motel $65.00 $130.00Total January, 2015 & “What if God has placed everyone of us in different locations with different jobs and different gifts around different people for the distinct purpose of every single one of us making disciples? What if any follower of Christ could do this? What if every follower of Christ should do this? What if each of us was purposefully sewing gospel threads into the fabric of everyday conversations? Every follower of Christ knows who God is, what man’s ultimate problem is, who Jesus is and what He has done, How someone can be saved and how important it is for people to be saved. Let’s speak continually to the people around us about God as someone we know, love and worship. Let’s put God’s character on display every day before people who may not yet believe in Him.” ~ David Platt We will sacrificially make disciples through intentional relationships. Sue & Jimmie Bowman Dear Cornerstone Family, No one can easily explain what replacing one body part does to the other parts! You wonder if you’ll ever be “abnormal” again. In the midst of it all, I kept my faith in Sweet Jesus knowing before a word was spoken He knew it completely. He also knows my love and appreciation for my pastor and church family. He also knows after going to rehab I have a more thankful heart to be able to fill the pew and worship. Thank you for everything!! Love, Mary Jo Shiflet Dear Brother Terry and Cornerstone Family, Today, we received the letter informing us of the increase of support for us as we serve under the accountability of Hope the World Ministries in India. We are truly thankful for our church family, our sending church for supporting us, praying for us, and encouraging us. God has surely placed us in one of the most loving churches anywhere. Wherever we go in India, we tell them that we are part of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hartwell, GA. Thank you for loving and supporting us from the beginning of our journey. There have been times when we have “wanted” to quit, but God didn’t call us to quit. Even in time of hurt and pain and just plain exhaustion, Cornerstone has been faithful to pray for us, to give, and to encourage us and spur us on. We are truly thankful to you all and we praise God for all of you as we, together, reach out and beyond to reach India and those here for Christ. We love you guys. Love, Peace, and Grace, Riley & Debbie Shelton Dear Bro. Terry and Cornerstone, Thank you so much for your support in the past and your willingness to continue giving in 2015. We appreciate your prayers and encouragement to our jail ministry. We love you and may God bless each of you. Love in Christ, Dale & Connie Carson Dear Cornerstone Baptist Members, Thank you for packing so many shoebox gifts. I love your passion to empower pastors around the world and bring joy to so many children. Many of the boxes processed in Atlanta are headed to India. This year we have 2.8 million children in the Greatest Journey 12-Week Bible Study. Next year we hope to have 4 million in the study. The harvest is becoming the harvestors - Thanks to you!
