1. Vorwort
Mit dieser Maturarbeit konnte ich mir etwas erfüllen, das sich wohl viele SchülerInnen
wünschen: Ich machte mein grösstes Hobby, die Musik, sozusagen zum Schulfach. Dank
dieser guten Entscheidung hatte ich in den letzten Monaten noch mehr Gelegenheit,
mich der Musik zu widmen und habe ausserdem viel Neues und Interessantes rund um
die Produktion eines Albums und dessen Vermarktung gelernt.
Mit «Produktion eines Albums» und «Public Relations» schneide ich zwei grosse und umfassende Themen an. Ich beschreibe deshalb Gedankengänge und Arbeitsschritte klar
und einfach, fasse komplexe Zusammenhänge zusammen und arbeite mit Übersichtsgrafiken. Dies mit dem Ziel, einen kleinen, aber informativen und interessanten
Einblick in diese Welten auf Papier zu bringen.
An dieser Stelle möchte ich vor allem meiner Schwester Mirjam, die mir als eidgenössisch diplomierte PR-Fachfrau wertvolle Auskünfte geben konnte, und meinem Bruder
Cyril, der mir bei der Gestaltung des Albums zur Hilfe kam, danken. Auch möchte ich
Mitja Huter erwähnen, der bei zwei Songs meines Albums mitgearbeitet hat. Ausserdem
bedanke ich mich bei Monika Egli, meiner Betreuerin, sowie bei allen Personen, die meine Arbeit gelesen und mir ihr Feedback gegeben habe.
2. Abstract
Meine Arbeit lässt sich grundsätzlich in zwei Teile gliedern, welche eng miteinander verknüpft sind. Der praktische Teil meiner Arbeit besteht aus der vollständigen Produktion
eines Rap und R’n’B (Rhythm and Blues) Albums mit dem Titel «T.Simon – First Step».
Im theoretischen Teil wird die Entstehung des Albums zusammen mit einem PR-Konzept
zur Markteinführung beschrieben. Darin beschreibe und erkläre ich allgemeine PRGrundsätze und versuche, diese am Beispiel meines Musik-Albums anzuwenden.

3. Produktion des Albums «T.Simon – First Step»
3.1. Definitionen
Bei der Beschreibung der Albumproduktion versuche ich Fachausdrücke so weit wie möglich zu vermeiden und benutze zur Förderung der Leserfreundlichkeit nur die unumgänglichen Begriffe. Hier die wichtigsten Definitionen.
Midi:
Midi-Signale sind Noten. Sie enthalten Informationen über Anschlagsstärke, Länge, Höhe, sowie Anfangs- und Schlusszeit eines Tones.
Diese Midi-Signale, ausgehend von einem Midi-Keyboard oder vom
Computer selbst, werden vom Rechner ausgewertet und vom Komponisten mit einem Instrument versehen.
Rechner:
Ein Synonym für Computer.
Loop:
Eine kurze Beatsequenz von meistens vier Takten, die mehrfach wiederholt werden.
WAV:
Format von Audiodateien. Hochwertige, digitale Form, wie sie auf gekauften CDs vorhanden ist. Abkürzung für «wave».
Normalisieren:
Die Lautstärke des Songs wird auf einen gewissen Standart festgesetzt, sodass alle Stücke auf einer CD die gleiche Lautstärke besitzen.
Weitere Begriffe werden direkt im Text erklärt.
3.2. Anfänge und Grundlagen
Seit dem Winter 2005 befasse ich mich mit elektronischer Musik. Meine Erfahrungen mit
Musik im Allgemeinen gehen jedoch bis in mein fünftes Lebensjahr zurück. Seither nehme ich regelmässig Geigenstunden. Mit acht Jahren begann ich ausserdem mit Cellounterricht. Zu einem grossen Teil verdanke ich die Produktion meines Soloalbums diesen
musikalischen Grundlagen.
Als ich vor drei Jahren der Verlockung der modernen Technik nicht mehr widerstehen
konnte, war diese dennoch unerreichbar für mich. Zu dieser Zeit gab es noch keine
Computer oder Hardware, die sich ein Fünfzehnjähriger hätte leisten können. Im Dezember 2006 waren die Preise für leistungsfähige Computer jedoch soweit gesunken,
dass sich mir zum ersten Mal die Möglichkeit bot, mir ein kleines eigenes Studio zusammenzustellen. Bis im Sommer 2007 kaufte ich mir folgende Hardware und Software:

Line 6 UX1 Audio-Interface (externes Gerät, das die analogen Audiodaten des
Mikrofons in digital speicher- und bearbeitbare Daten konvertiert und an den
Computer weitersendet).

M-Audio Midi-Keyboard (vereinfacht die Eingabe von Melodien und Rhythmen in
den Rechner; ein Keyboard, mit dem man per Midi-Signal die Instrumente des
Computers spielen kann).

Jede einzelne dieser Studiokomponenten erforderte eine gewisse Einarbeitungszeit. Mit jedem
zusätzlichen Gerät boten sich mir
jedoch weitere Möglichkeiten für
meine Kompositionen. Diese Möglichkeiten unterstützten mich bei
der Entwicklung meines Musikstils
und der Verwirklichung meiner
Ziele.

3.3. Entstehung eines Songs
Eine generelle Regel zum Komponieren eines Musikstückes existiert nicht. Jeder
Komponist findet seinen eigenen Weg, um seine Stücke zu schreiben. Im Folgenden beschreibe ich den ungefähren Ablauf meines Vorgehens.
Um einen Song zu schreiben, brauche ich zu Beginn einige Ideen, d.h. Melodien, Rhythmen oder Harmonien. Ich lasse mich von meinem Alltag und anderer Musik inspirieren.
Sobald ich eine ungefähre Vorstellung eines Songs habe (noch ohne Text), setze ich
mich an den Computer und beginne zu arbeiten. Mit Hilfe von Midi-Spuren stelle ich den
Hintergrund eines potentiellen Stückes zusammen, so genannte Beats. Dies sind kurze
und einfache Kompositionen von vier bis acht Takten, die geloopt, also immer wieder in
kleinen Variationen wiederholt werden. Die Schwierigkeit beim Erstellen eines Beats besteht darin, die eigene Vorstellung möglichst genau zu verwirklichen. Dies ist jedoch eine
fast unmögliche Aufgabe, da die eigene Idee des Stückes beim Komponieren und Ausprobieren verfälscht, manchmal jedoch auch verbessert wird. Spielt man z.B. eine Melodie ein oder fügt einen Effekt dazu und hört sich dann das Ganze an, so wird die eigene
Vorstellung davon stark beeinflusst.
Hier sind die diversen Midi-Spuren im Arrangierfenster des First Step Epilogue’s zu sehen.
Während mehreren Tagen versuche ich immer wieder, neue Ideen in den Beat einzubringen, um diesen weiter zu entwickeln. Habe ich den Beat solange bearbeitet, bis
meine Ideen erschöpft sind, muss ich mich entscheiden, ob sich das Schreiben eines
Textes und somit die Vollendung der Komposition lohnt. Dabei verlasse ich mich meist

auf meine Intuition. Manchmal ziehe ich jedoch auch den Rat meiner Freunde hinzu und
frage sie, ob sie sich ein Stück mit diesem Beat vorstellen können. Meistens belasse ich
es aber bei dem Loop.
So entstanden in den letzten drei Jahren über 300 Beats (Stand 3. Dezember 2007: 334
Beats). Durch das im letzten Abschnitt beschriebene Auswahlverfahren habe ich etwa zu
jedem zehnten Beat einen Text geschrieben.
Nun werde ich meine individuelle Technik des Songwritings beschreiben. Andere Künstler
besitzen sicherlich wieder andere Methoden.
Meine Inspiration beim Texten lässt sich meist auf wahre Begebenheiten zurückführen.
Wie auch beim Erstellen eines Beats brauche ich vor dem Verfassen eines Textes eine
grosse Menge an Ideen. Zuerst muss ich mich für ein Thema entscheiden. In der folgenden Zeitperiode fixiere ich mich auf dieses Thema und sammle Ideen dazu. Dies können ganze Sätze sein, aber auch einzelne Wörter, die zum Thema passen. Ausserdem
erstelle ich eine Liste mit allem, was ich im Laufe des Stückes erwähnen möchte. Im folgenden Arbeitsschritt ordne ich meine Notizen und verknüpfe sie so miteinander, dass
ein sinnvoller und logischer Text entsteht. Dieser muss keineswegs den Anforderungen
eines Aufsatzes genügen. Im Gegenteil, die Grammatik ist zweitrangig. Auf was es wirklich ankommt, ist der «Flow» (zu Deutsch «Fluss»): Dieser wird vor allem durch die
Rhythmen und die Rhymes bestimmt.
Die Rhythmen dürfen nicht allzu komplex sein, nicht zu viele Synkopen enthalten, sollten
sich aber dennoch immer wieder leicht verändern.
Die Rhymes stellen die zweite Komponente dar, die für den Flow von entscheidender Bedeutung ist. Beim englischen Rap spielen nur die Vokale eine grosse Rolle, die Konsonanten hingegen sind zweitrangig. Dabei steht auch die Länge der Vokale im Hintergrund, d.h. lange und kurze «i» sind gleichwertig. Gute Rhymes in meinem Sinne sind
jedoch nicht nur einsilbig. Um dies anschaulich zu erklären, folgendes Beispiel dazu:
«going» und «listening» reimen sich nicht wirklich, da sie nur die Endung «ing» gemeinsam haben und diese in der Regel nie betont wird. Aber: «listening» reimt sich auf
«industry», «history», «mystery», etc., da jeweils die erste Silbe betont wird und sich
die Ausdrücke doppelt und analog reimen. Diese Reimpaare bzw. –trios können auch aus
mehreren Wörter bestehen: «(An)dre hit», «basic», «say it», «praying», «same thing»,
etc. Diese Rhymes werden vom Hörer zwar nicht unbedingt aktiv wahrgenommen, tragen jedoch trotzdem zum Gesamtbild, zum ‚Flow’, bei.
Die sich reimenden Vokale können bereits nach zwei Takten wieder gewechselt werden.
Manchmal entsteht jedoch Spannung, wenn die Vokale nur leicht verändert werden. Zum
Beispiel könnte auf «come out“ «combine» folgen ([au] zu [ai]).
Ein weiterer Trick für die Weiterentwicklung des Flows beinhaltet die ständige Wiederholung gleicher Vokale. Der Vokal «a» eignet sich vor allem dazu.
Zum Schluss meines Crash-Kurses für angehende Rapper möchte ich noch ein gelungenes, etwas längeres Beispiel anfügen, in dem viele der soeben beschriebenen Tipps umgesetzt wurden: (rot und blau: Endreim-Trio; grün und violett: sich immer wiederholender Vokal, der stark betont wird)

Von etwa 35 fertigen Texten habe ich zehn verworfen. Nun bin ich bei 25 Liedern mit
Lyrics, die es Wert sind, aufgenommen zu werden.
Der nächste Schritt zur Vollendung eines Songs besteht aus dem Aufnehmen von Audiomaterial. Im Unterschied zu einem klassischen Stück, das man beispielsweise mit einem
Streichinstrument monatelang einübt, nehme ich meine Stimme auf, ohne mich vorzubereiten. Denn da ich keine Studiokosten zu bezahlen habe, nehme ich mir die Freiheit, beliebig viel Audiomaterial aufzunehmen. Ich beginne mit der ersten Sequenz des
Stückes. Da mir meist die ersten Aufnahmen nicht besonders gefallen, versuche ich
meine Stimme anzupassen, um das gewünschte Klangbild zu erzeugen. Mit dieser
Methode arbeite ich mich durch das ganze Stück hindurch.
Sind die Aufnahmen meiner Stimme abgeschlossen, komme ich zum schwierigsten Teil,
dem Abmischen. Alle Midi- sowie Audio-Spuren müssen in einem ausbalancierten Verhältnis zueinander stehen, sodass jede einzelne Musikkomponente deutlich genug zum
Vorschein kommt. Das Knifflige dabei besteht darin, dass das Stück auf jedem Musikspieler wieder etwas anders klingt. Ein Beispiel: Bei meinen Computerkopfhörern, mit
denen ich meine Stücke abmische, kann ich meine Stimme relativ leise drehen. Mit diesen Einstellungen geht die Stimme beim Abhören mit IPod-Kopfhörern jedoch unter. Hier
befinde ich mich in einem Dilemma; soll ich eine richtige Stereoanlage oder den viel verkauften IPod bevorzugen? Um eine möglichst neutrale Version zu erstellen, muss ich Mittelwerte finden und somit Kompromisse eingehen.
Als nächstes versehe ich einige Spuren mit Effekten, wie beispielsweise Hall, Echo,
Stereo oder Veränderungen im Frequenzbereich. Ausserdem passe ich an manchen Stellen den Beat an die Melodie beziehungsweise an den Text an. Diese Eingriffe sollten
möglichst klein, dafür aber umso wirkungsvoller sein, um einen noch stärkeren Effekt auf
das Klangbild zu erzeugen.

Zum Schluss exportiere ich das ganze Stück als WAV-Audiodatei, normalisiere und speichere es auf der Festplatte.
Dieser ganze Prozess der Produktion eines Stückes dauert meist mehrere Wochen, da ich
ständig an verschiedenen Stücken gleichzeitig arbeite (Stand 3. Dezember 2007: 18 fertige Songs, 13 in Produktion). Eine Schätzung des Zeitaufwandes relativ zum Ergebnis
ist sehr schwierig. Ich gehe davon aus, dass ich in den letzten neun Monaten jeden Tag
durchschnittlich 30 Minuten an meinen Stücken gearbeitet habe. Entstanden sind etwa
80 Minuten fertige Songs. Das ergibt ein Verhältnis zwischen dem gesamten Zeitaufwand
und Resultat von etwa 100 zu 1.
3.4. Zusammenstellen des Albums und des Covers
Aus den etwa 30 fertigen Songs musste ich mich für eine Auswahl entscheiden. Die
Rahmenbedingungen waren einfach: Die auf dem Album vorhandenen Songs müssen
genügend abwechslungsreich sein und insgesamt die Spieldauer von ca. 67 Minuten
nicht übersteigen. Dem letzten Song auf dem Album folgen ca. zehn lautlose Minuten.
Der geduldige Hörer wird dann mit einem so genannten Hidden Track belohnt, der auf
dem Cover nicht angekündigt wird. Ingesamt erreiche ich somit 80 Minuten Spielzeit,
was der Kapazität einer Standard-CD entspricht.
Das Konzept des Album-Covers und –Büchleins habe ich mit meinem ältesten Bruder
und meiner älteren Schwester ausgearbeitet. Die meisten Ideen stammen jedoch von
mir. Mein Bruder, der in seiner Freizeit als Webdesigner und Grafiker tätig ist, überprüfte
die Machbarkeit meiner Ideen. Zusammen mit meiner Schwester diskutierten wir, wie
der gewünschte Effekt auf das Zielpublikum umgesetzt werden kann. Das Layout soll mit
meiner Musik im Einklang stehen. Wir kamen zum Schluss, dass es individuell und
authentisch wirken soll. Ausserdem soll es die Prädikate wild, düster, ernst, aber
trotzdem professionell tragen.
Nach diesem Gespräch kam die Zeit, in der ich so viel Rohmaterial wie möglich herstellen musste. Dieses beinhaltete unbearbeitete Fotos, Zeichnungen, Skizzen sowie
Textmaterial. Danach habe ich das Material soweit verarbeitet (Fotos wurden digital
bearbeitet und vektorisiert), bis mein Bruder und ich es nur noch zu einem Ganzen
zusammenfügen mussten.

4. Markteinführung mit Hilfe von Public Relations
4.1. Definition
PR ist die Abkürzung für Public Relations (zu Deutsch: Öffentlichkeitsarbeit). Der Begriff
wurde erstmals in den USA im Jahre 1882 verwendet. Er wird wie folgt definiert:
«Management von Kommunikationsprozessen für Organisationen mit deren
Bezugsgruppen» (Müller, 2005)
Oder eine etwas längere Definition von Carl Hundhausen aus dem Jahre 1937:
«Public Relations ist die Kunst, durch das gesprochene oder gedruckte Wort,
durch Handlungen oder durch sichtbare Symbole für die eigene Firma, deren
Produkt oder Dienstleistung eine günstige öffentliche Meinung zu schaffen.»

Synonyme und verwandte Begriffe wie Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, Organisationskommunikation, Unternehmenskommunikation und Kommunikationsmanagement existieren ebenfalls. Im letzten Jahrhundert wurde PR jedoch oft mit Propaganda gleichgesetzt. Der
Hauptunterschied besteht jedoch darin, dass PR im Gegensatz zu Propaganda folgende
Grundsätze aufweist: «Realität, Klarheit, Offenheit, Transparenz sowie Zeitgerechtigkeit»
(Müller, 2005). Das Ziel der PR ist das Aufbauen von «Verstehen, Verständnis, Vertrauen, Glaubwürdigkeit und Akzeptanz» (Müller, 2005).
Hingegen versucht Propaganda im klassischen Sinne die allgemeine Unterstützung des
Volkes mit Hilfe von unmoralischen Mitteln wie Lügen zu erreichen.
Grundsätzlich unterscheidet man zwei Richtungen von Öffentlichkeitsarbeit: interne und
externe. Im ersten Bereich konzentriert sich die Kommunikation auf die Beziehung
zwischen Unternehmen und Mitarbeitern. Bei der externen PR liegt der Schwerpunkt auf
der Kommunikationsgestaltung zu den Bezugsgruppen ausserhalb der Körperschaft.
Ein wichtiger Unterschied besteht zwischen Public Relations und Marketing, obwohl beide
stark miteinander verbunden sind und Mitarbeiter einer Firma oft in beiden Bereichen tätig sind. Marketing beschäftigt sich vor allem mit der Verkaufsförderung von Produkten
und Dienstleistungen und mit klaren Umsatzzielen, wie zum Beispiel eine Umsatzsteigerung von 20 Prozent innerhalb eines Jahres. Die Ziele der PR hingegen lassen sich
weniger klar in Zahlen auszudrücken und sind auch schlechter evaluierbar. Ein typisches
PR-Ziel ist zum Beispiel einen sogenannten guten Ruf der Firma zu generieren oder ihre
Medienpräsenz in positiven Kontexten zu steigern.
4.2. PR-Grobkonzept
PR-Konzepte können sehr komplex sein und je nach Ausganglage stark variieren. Der
Aufbau eines Konzeptes ist jedoch simpel und kann in vier Programmphasen unterteilt
werden: Zuerst beginnt man mit der «Analyse». Sobald man sich mit der Problemstellung vertraut gemacht hat, geht man zur «Strategie» über. Danach folgt der
grösste und spannendste Teil eines Konzeptes, die «Umsetzung». Zum Schluss folgt
die «Evaluation», in der man das gesamte Projekt und dessen Erfolg beurteilt.
In den folgenden Abschnitten werden diese vier Phasen genauer erläutert und am
Beispiel eines teilweise fiktiven PR-Konzeptes zu Hilfe der Markteinführung meines RapAlbums «T.Simon – First Step» angewendet:
4.2.1. Analyse
Die Analysephase stellt ein erster Schwerpunkt eines jeden Konzepts dar. Eine gründliche Vorbereitung erleichtert die Durchführung des Konzepts und verstärkt die Wirkung.
Dabei ist die Analysephase die Grundlage der gesamten Planung; je gründlicher die Situation analysiert und ausgewertet wird, desto grösser wird der Erfolg nach der Ausführung des PR-Konzepts ausfallen. Eine gründliche Analyse der Problemstellung ist also die
Voraussetzung für die drei darauf folgenden Phasen.

Ausgangslage
Das Debüt-Album des neuen Künstlers T.Simon wurde in einem Studio aufgenommen.
Das Layout für das Albumcover wurde fertig gestellt. Dank einem Vertrag mit einer Plattenfirma werden das Album sowie die erste Single in den Fabriken der Firma durch Massenproduktion angefertigt.

eines Budgetplans muss man gewisse Annahmen treffen und kann nur mit Grobkosten
kalkulieren. Mit Unvorhersehbarem muss immer gerechnet werden.

Ein Terminplan hängt stark von den praktischen Möglichkeiten und Verfügbarkeiten, z.B.
von Räumen oder Veranstaltungen, ab. Deshalb ist es schwierig, auf theoretische Weise

4.2.4. Evaluation
In der Evaluationsphase wird das ganze Projekt nach seiner Durchführung beurteilt. Man
misst vor allem die erzielte Wirkung der einzelnen Massnahmen/Mittel an den tatsächlich
erreichten Erfolgen. Dazu gehören Zeitungsberichte, Radio, allgemeine Medienpräsenz,
Verkaufszahlen, Bekanntheitsgrad, Auftritte etc.
Wichtig ist, dass der Erfolg sowohl qualitativ wie quantitativ analysiert wird. Zum Beispiel
sind wenige, dafür qualitativ hochwertige Zeitungsberichte für das Projekt nützlicher als
viele, qualitativ schlechte Artikel.
4.3. Fokus auf einzelne PR-Massnahmen
Im Folgenden werde ich einige der im Abschnitt 4.2.3. beschriebenen Massnahmen/Mittel näher thematisieren. In jedem Abschnitt folgt zuerst immer die theoretische
Definition und die Bedeutung des Themas. In der zweiten Hälfte versuche ich die Theorie
anhand eigener Beispiele für die Markteinführung meines Albums anzuwenden.

4.3.1. Medien
Medien wie Tageszeitungen, Fachzeitschriften, Radio, TV etc. sind nebst dem Internet
die effizientesten und schnellsten Mittel, um PR zu betreiben. Jedes Medium erreicht
Zielgruppen auf eine andere Art und Weise und kann somit modifiziert und benutzerdefiniert für die eigenen Interessen genutzt werden. Dabei gilt:

Diese Medien können noch differenzierter betrachtet werden. Und so entsteht eine Liste
von Medien, die bestimmte Besonderheiten aufweisen. Es folgen einige Beispiele:
Tageszeitungen sind aktuell und regionalbezogen. Sie arbeiten mit Bildern
und Headlines.
Wochenzeitungen beschränken sich auf ein paar wenige aktuelle Themen
und untersuchen diese.
Fachzeitschriften dienen der Weiterbildung für Profis. Die jedoch relativ
kleinen Auflagen dieses Mediums sollten unbedingt berücksichtigt werden.
Nachrichtenagenturen verbreiten Informationen über aktuelle Situationen an andere Medien.
Im Radio werden häufig nur lokale Nachrichten thematisiert. Nachrichten
werden meist kurz gefasst.
Im Fernsehen dominiert das Bild, das vor allem bei der Übermittelung von
Emotionen vorteilhaft sein kann.
Jedes Medium spricht eine eigene Zielgruppe an. Deshalb ist es von grosser Bedeutung,
dass PR-Berater die Ziele des Unternehmens sowie deren Zielgruppen genau analysieren, um das richtige Medium/die richtigen Medien auszusuchen.

Gezielt Medien anzusprechen ist unverzichtbar für die PR. Jedoch
liegt die Schwierigkeit der Medienarbeit nicht nur in der Planung,
sondern im Umgang mit den Medien selbst. Die Beziehungen und
Kontakte spielen daher eine wichtige Rolle. Vorurteile zwischen
Unternehmern und Medienschaffenden sollten schnellstmöglich behoben werden, denn auf beiden Seiten wird mit Professionalität
gearbeitet. Die Ziele der Beziehungspflege sollten der Aufbau von
Vertrauen und Dialog, sowie die Übermittelung von Verständnis und
Wissen sein.

Im Abschnitt 4.2.2. Strategie wurde unter Ziele unter anderem Folgendes erwähnt: «Die
Presse berichtet regelmässig mit qualitativ guten Beiträgen (hohe Medienpräsenz).» Im
Folgenden wird der Idealfall für einen erfolgreichen Künstler im Bezug auf Medienpräsenz
präzisiert:

Tageszeitungen berichten kontinuierlich mit kleinen Beiträgen.

Fachzeitschriften drucken regelmässig längere Artikel.

Im Radio und im Fernseher wird die Musik häufig gespielt. Ausserdem tritt der Künstler immer wieder in Shows auf oder gibt Interviews.
Um diese Ziele zu verwirklichen ist eine gute Medienarbeit notwendig. Ein Radiosender
wird kaum in einem Monat zwanzig Interviews senden, da eines oder zwei die Interessen
der Hörerschaft absolut befriedigt. Um dennoch eine grössere Medienpräsenz zu erlangen, muss mit Hilfe der PR auf immer wieder neuen Wegen auf den Künstler aufmerksam gemacht werden. Hierzu könnten Benefizveranstaltungen, Live-Auftritte oder Singleauskopplungen hilfreich sein, die wiederum die Aufmerksamkeit der Medien auf den
Künstler wecken.
4.3.2. Medienmitteilung und Medienkonferenz
Die Medien tragen essentiell zur Meinungsbildung der Zielgruppen bei. Über Zeitungen,
Fachzeitschriften, Radio oder Fernsehen kann die Bekanntheit und Glaubwürdigkeit stark
erhöht werden. Schlechte Beiträge in den Medien können jedoch vernichtend wirken.
Daher ist es wichtig, gute Medienkontakte aufzubauen und die Beziehung zu den Medien
zu pflegen. Zwei Instrumente dazu sind Medienmitteilung und Medienkonferenz.
In einer Medienmitteilung informiert man zum Beispiel über Neuigkeiten oder nimmt
Stellung zu einem aktuellen Thema, das in Zusammenhang mit dem eigenen Unternehmen steht. Wichtig ist dabei, dass man den Text journalistengerecht verfasst. Der
Grundsatz dabei ist, das Wichtigste zuerst, zusätzliche Informationen zuletzt auszuformulieren. Der Text muss so geschrieben sein, dass er theoretisch unverändert abgedruckt werden kann, deshalb muss er von hinten kürzbar sein. Je mehr Vorarbeit man
für die Journalisten leistet, desto höher ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass eine Meldung abgedruckt wird.
Im Mittelpunkt einer Pressekonferenz hingegen steht nicht die Übermittlung von Informationen, sondern der Dialog zwischen Unternehmen und Presse. Falls beispielsweise
eine Firma die Journalisten nur über ein neues Produkt informieren möchte, so ist eine
Medienkonferenz nicht notwendig; im Gegenteil, sie kann sogar einen negativen Effekt
auf das Zielpublikum zur Folge haben. Denn die Anwesenden sind in der Regel mit den
schriftlich übermittelbaren Details vertraut; ihre Anwesenheit lässt sich auf Themen, die
nur im Dialog erörtert werden können, zurückführen. Beispiele für Diskussionen sind das
Klären von offenen Fragen, das Dementieren von Gerüchten etc.

Das Potential einer Medienkonferenz liegt also in der Kommunikation, im direkten Austausch. Das Unternehmen erhält wichtige Informationen über die Bedürfnisse der Zielgruppe, kann auf diese reagieren und sich als Problemlöser sogar sein Image aufbessern. Das Anliegen der Veranstalter wird durch Bildaufnahmen, manchmal sogar
durch Direktübertragungen im TV, verstärkt.
Eine Pressekonferenz birgt jedoch auch Risiken in sich. Denn Mitteilungsbedürfnis allein
stellt für einen Journalisten noch keinen Grund dar, an der Pressekonferenz zu erscheinen. Eine Medienkonferenz sollte nur bei besonderen Anlässen abgehalten werden.
Beispiele dazu sind Firmenjubiläen, das Einführen von neuartigen Produkten oder Fusionen von Konzernen. Erscheinen bei einer gross angekündigten Medienkonferenz nur
ein paar wenige Journalisten, so erleidet das Unternehmen oftmals einen Imageverlust,
der nur schwer wieder auskurierbar ist.
Fazit:
Mit Hilfe einer Medienkonferenz, die ein hocheffizientes Kommunikationsinstrument ist, werden Informationen transportiert, die auf
geschriebenem Weg nicht übermittelt werden können. Die Ziele einer Medienkonferenz durch direkte Kommunikation sind die Beziehung zwischen der Zielgruppe und des Veranstalters aufrecht zu
erhalten oder zu verbessern, offene Fragen zu beantworten, Präsenz und Verbundenheit zu demonstrieren, die Meinungsbilder des
Publikums während der Konferenz zu verändern, sowie die Gunst
der Presse zu gewinnen.
Eine Medienkonferenz im Falle des PR-Konzeptes zur Markteinführung meines Albums
«T.Simon – First Step» wäre sicherlich sinnvoll. Vor allem wenn der Künstler noch nicht
bekannt ist, bietet sich dem Zielpublikum die Möglichkeit, den Interpreten kennen zu
lernen. Hinterlässt der Künstler einen positiven Eindruck bei den Journalisten, so verringert sich die Gefahr von schlechten Kritiken des Albums in der Presse.
4.3.3. Internet
Das Internet stellt heutzutage das Medium der schnellsten Kommunikation über grössere
Distanzen dar. Beim Suchen nach spezifischen Informationen wird häufig zuerst im Internet mit Hilfe von Suchmaschinen geforscht. Deshalb erlangt dieses den Status von
enormer Bedeutung für die Pflege und den Aufbau von Bekanntheit und Image. Für die
PR birgt das Internet unzählige Möglichkeiten wie beispielsweise Online-Pressedienste,
Newsdienste, Bilddienste, Kommunikationsplattformen etc. Das Internet ist auch das
Medium, das am meisten Potential in sich birgt und deshalb in den nächsten Jahren noch
zusätzlich an Gewicht gewinnen wird.
Die Internet-PR widerspiegelt im Grossen und Ganzen die klassische PR. Jedoch beinhaltet sie einige zusätzliche Aspekte. Jeder dieser Punkte birgt Möglichkeiten, aber auch bestimmte Probleme in sich:

1) Überwinden von Distanzen in Sekunden: Der Informationsfluss wird
enorm beschleunigt. Gute aber auch schlechte Nachrichten oder Gerüchte können sich schnell verbreiten.
2) ‚Öffnungszeiten’: Da das Internet rund um die Uhr zugänglich ist,
muss viel Zeit und Geld in die kontinuierliche Aktualisierung und Betreuung der Website investiert werden, was wiederum zusätzliche Kosten für
das Unternehmen bedeutet.
3) Neue Zielgruppen: Durch die Vernetztheit im Internet vergrössert sich
die Zielgruppe automatisch. Diese Chance erfordert jedoch Aufmerksamkeit und Reaktionsfähigkeit, um die Interessen der neu gewonnenen
Zielgruppen zu analysieren und um auf deren Wünsche schnell zu reagieren.
4) Überflutung mit Informationen: Wenn man beispielsweise den Begriff «Eminem» googelt, so werden in 0,12 Sekunden über 35 Millionen
Links aufgelistet. Der erste führt zur offiziellen Website des Künstlers.
Dies ist jedoch nicht bei allen Unternehmen der Fall. Oft steht die gesuchte Website erst an der dreissigsten oder vierzigsten Stelle. Die Ursache dafür liegt meist in der mangelnden Betreuung. Um dieses Problem auf einfachem Weg zu umgehen, sollte das Unternehmen die Internetadresse ihrer offiziellen Page möglichst oft präsentieren, beispielsweise in Fernsehspots, auf Werbeflächen, auf Flyers u.ä. Die Überflutung
mit Informationen birgt jedoch auch noch ein weiteres nicht zu vernachlässigendes Problem in sich. Da in unserem Land Meinungsfreiheit
herrscht, darf jeder im Internet schreiben, was er will. Dies können
auch unbegründete negative Kritiken sein. Die einzige Lösung für das
Unternehmen besteht darin, ständig zu diesen Aussagen Stellung zu
nehmen und allfällige Gerüchte sachlich zu dementieren.
5) Design und Layout: Durch die diversen visuellen Möglichkeiten sowie
durch das Arbeiten mit Musik besteht die Gefahr, dass Websites überfüllt
und für das Auge nicht mehr ertragbar sind. Einige Grundsätze sollte ein
Grafikdesigner beim Erstellen einer Website beachten: Sie sollte schlicht
und übersichtlich sein, eine klare Struktur besitzen, und natürlich sollte
der Besucher die Möglichkeit haben, Informationen schnell und auf einfachem Wege abrufen zu können.
6) Prestige: Auch ein noch so kleines Unternehmen sollte in unserer vernetzten und digitalen Welt in eine Website investieren. Bei mangelnden
Geldern genügt auch eine schlichte Site.

Das Internet stellt eine ungeheure Bedeutung und Chance für die
PR dar, auf die man nicht verzichten kann. Trotzdem muss das Internet in das gesamte Kommunikationskonzept eingegliedert und
darf nie als etwas Einzelnes betrachtet werden. Ausserdem sollte
eine Internetseite aktuell und unterhaltend, benutzerfreundlich, informativ und übersichtlich sein.

Das Internet stellt die erste Anlaufstelle dar, wenn sich jemand über einen neuen Künstler informieren will, da logischerweise noch keine Bücher über den Interpreten geschrieben worden sind. Ein Fan gelangt also per Suchmaschine auf die Website des Musikers,
um sich dort über Veröffentlichungs- und Tourdaten, Singleauskopplungen, Biographien
etc., zu informieren. Nicht nur im Musikbusiness sondern auch für alle jungen, unbekannten Unternehmen ist das Internet von grosser Bedeutung.
4.3.4. Live-Auftritte
Live Auftritte in einem Club oder in einer Bar sind gute Möglichkeiten zum Aufbau und
für die Pflege des Images, speziell für einen Musikkünstler. Dem Musiker wird dabei die
Möglichkeit geboten, sein Talent zu präsentieren. Gelingt es ihm ausserdem eine angenehme Stimmung im Saal zu erzeugen, so gewinnt er meist die Sympathie des Publikums und somit weitere Fans. Dies kann im besten Falle eine Imageaufbesserung und
eventuell sogar eine positive Kritik in den Medien erzeugen. Doch das Wichtigste, das ein
Künstler ereichen kann, sind mündliche Weiterempfehlungen. Denn diese sind von grösserem Wert als jeder TV- oder Zeitungsbericht.
Um diese Talentprobe mit einem Begriff aus der PR zu versehen, könnte man sie als Produkte-Test oder Tag der offenen Tür bezeichnen. Das Ziel des Events besteht darin, die
Beziehung zwischen Kunde und Unternehmen zu verbessern und auf eine intime und,
emotionale Ebene zu bringen.

5. Schlusswort
Die vollständige Produktion als erstes Hauptziel meiner Maturarbeit hat mir einen bisher
noch unbekannten Motivationsschub bereitet. Da ich sogar ein Cover angefertigt habe,
ist mein Debüt-Album «T.Simon – First Step» vollendet, welches ich in den letzten elf
Monaten, abgesehen von kleinen Dienstleistungen meines Bruders, alleine auf die Beine
gestellt und komplett selber produziert habe. Damit habe ich mein Ziel erreicht.
Auf der anderen Seite stellte die PR für mich Neuland dar. Mich in ein völlig neues Thema
einzuarbeiten, hat mir jedoch grossen Spass bereitet, denn ich habe etwas Wichtiges
beim Ausarbeiten meiner Arbeit gelernt: Die Beziehung zwischen Anbieter und Kunde ist
von grösster Bedeutung. Vor allem in der schweizerischen Musik-Industrie ist diese
Option der Vergrösserung des Kundenpotentials essentiell. Einzig Werbung wie Inserate
oder Werbespots zu schalten, wäre einerseits sehr kostspielig, anderseits hat ein Inserat
auch niemals die gleiche Wirkung auf die Zielgruppe, wie zum Beispiel ein redaktioneller
Beitrag in einer Zeitung. Für die Bekanntmachung und Markteinführung meines Albums
«T.Simon – First Step» ist ein gezieltes PR-Konzept von entscheidender Bedeutung.
