The frame is a welded steel structure. The printer has compact dimensions: 1500 mm x 1110 mm x 1480 mm. All machines have two independent, pneumatically-driven squeegee heads with a continuously regulated pressure accurate to within ±0.004 MPa. Printing can be performed on flexible or rigid base materials such as glass, ceramics, plastic or metal, with a material thickness of up to 10 mm. The semi-automatic screen printer is operated with a keypad and other operating elements. A programmable logic controller (PLC) takes care of control of the machine. The supporting frame is made of rugged Itemprofil. The printing table is finely adjustable in the X, Y and theta directions. In conjunction with the manual optical positioning system (MOPS), it is perfectly possible to achieve printing results in the fine pitch range. 3.1.2 Printing sequence The operator sets up the printing stencil in the machine by hand. Two clamping cylinders fix the stencil in position in the guideway. The operator adjusts the squeegee pressure with the pressure regulator. The solder paste is applied to the stencil by hand. The squeegee parameters, such as squeegee speed, front and rear squeegee position, printing mode and separation speed, are entered in the main menu. The front cover over the print area must remain closed during printing. 3-1 © EuroDok 03_System.fm Druck 23.10.08 E1-II semiautomatic screen printer System Manual Kapitel 3 System Description EuroDok GmbH Darmstädter Straße 67 D-64646 Heppenheim fon +49 (0) 6252 - 69501 fax +49 (0) 6252 - 69503 mail@eurodok.de The operator places a PCB in the PCB holder on the printing table by hand. The PCB clamping switch triggers the PCB clamping system, and the PCB is fixed in place in the holder. The printing process is started with the foot switch. The printing table moves in the X-direction from the loading position on the left to the printing position in the machine. The squeegee unit moves in the Y-direction from the rear towards the front. The printing process proceeds according to the printing mode. When printing is completed, the printing table moves out to the loading position. Operation: Two microcontrollers evaluate the input circuits and switch the outputs accordingly. The microcontrollers monitor each other. Output status • Input circuit closed (e.g. E-STOP button is not operated) Safety outputs 14 and 24 and auxiliary output Y32 are energised. • Input circuit is open (e.g. E-STOP button is operated). Safety outputs 14 and 24 and auxiliary output Y32 are de-energised. Functions: • If there is a high signal (+24 VDC) at input Y5 for at least 250 ms, output Y32 switches to diagnostic mode. It is controlled via a driver that is available as an accessory or that you can create yourself. If input Y5 is open or low, Y32 will operate as an auxiliary output. Operating modes: • Single-channel operation: input wiring to EN 60204, no redundancy in the input circuit; earth faults in the pushbutton circuit are detected. • Dual-channel operation: redundant input circuit; earth faults in the pushbutton circuit are detected, with or without detection of shorts between the pushbutton contacts. • Automatic reset: unit becomes active as soon as the input circuit is closed. • Monitored reset: unit is active when the reset button is pressed and then released. This prevents an automatic reset and linking of the reset button. • Shorts between contacts can be detected by pulsing the input circuits. This operating mode is detected automatically on start-up. • Start-up test prevents an automatic restart when power is restored following a voltage loss. The unit checks whether closed safety gates are opened and closed again when operating voltage is applied. • The number of safety contacts can be increased by connecting a contact block (e.g. PZE 9P) or external contactors. Operation Two microcontrollers evaluate the input circuits and switch the outputs accordingly. The microcontrollers monitor each other. Output status • Input circuit: N/C open and N/O closed (e.g. safety gate closed). Safety outputs 14 and 24 and auxiliary output Y32 are energised. • Input circuit: N/C is closed and N/O is opened (e.g. safety gate open). Safety outputs 14 and 24 and auxiliary output Y32 are de-energised. Functions • If there is a high signal (+24 VDC) at input Y5 for at least 250 ms, output Y32 switches to diagnostic mode. It is controlled via a driver that is available as an accessory or that you can create yourself. If input Y5 is open or low, Y32 will operate as an auxiliary output. • For logic links between several units, the PNOZ e3.1p has one AND and one OR input. The inputs have a time delay, which is added in the case of an AND connection. Operating modes • Dual-channel operation: Earth faults in the input circuit and shorts between the input circuit contacts will be detected. A1 UB • Start-up test prevents an automatic restart when power is restored following a voltage loss. The unit checks whether closed safety gates are opened and closed again when operating voltage is applied. • The number of safety contacts can be increased by connecting a contact block (e.g. PZE X4.1P) or external contactors.
