SELL POPCORN ONLINE Sell popcorn to friends and family online. www.sell.trails-end.com To sell online or view online sales, each Scout will need to log in or create their own online account. It is important the Scout selects “Northern Lights Council” and then the correct District & Unit for his online account, so the Scout along with your Unit receives the credit. When creating your leader account, you will need to enter the validation code of “popcorn”. Sales generated on-line qualify toward Scout prize level achieved and Scholarship credit. Your Unit receives 27% commission on these sales, which will be credited to your unit account by February, 2016 If your Scout(s) participated in online sales in 2014 SIGN IN WITH THE SAME LOG IN INFORMATION. Remember to verify that your account is linked to the correct Council, District and Unit. TAKE ORDER FEW SELLING TIPS: Scouts who have sold before can start by going to the same customers they had from previous years. It is better to request payment up front than to try and find someone who owes you money weeks later. Have check made payable to the Unit. Have an order form with you wherever you go so you can catch sales anytime. Leave a business card or door hanger at every house, even where you didn’t talk to anyone. When they come back, they can contact you to buy popcorn. Think about when you are going door-to-door. You are more likely to catch someone in their home at 6 PM then 10 AM on a weekday. Scouts can ask their parents to bring an order form to work to sell to their co-workers. Bring a back-up pen with you in case the first one runs out of ink! Be sure to know the popcorn you are selling. A good salesman always knows his products. Offer the Military Donation if they do not want to buy any popcorn for themselves. 6 2015 POPCORN SALE 7 CHECKLIST FOR UNIT’S POPCORN KERNEL / TEAM LEADER: PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SALE: Register your Unit to sell popcorn for the 2015 Popcorn Sale at www.nlcbsa.org.
