MISSING PEOPLEʼS RESEARCH
SYNOPSIS
While on holiday, the wife of Stéphane Monnereau, chief of the
Parisian criminal investigation police, vanishes. Ironically, all the
evidence seems to indicate that the husband himself might be
involved in her disappearance. In order to avoid being held in custody
M. Monnereau flees with his son. From that moment on, his sole
purpose is to prove his innocence and to solve the mystery of his
wife’s disappearance.
The title of the movie R.I.F. refers to the form that has to be filled out
before launching an investigation for a missing adult. This particular
form differs somewhat from one that has to be filled out for a minor,
since someone over 18 actually has the legal right to “go missing”
without notifying his family.
Director Franck Mancuso storms back onto the scene, boosted by his
2007 hit, Contre enquête, starring Jean Dujardin.
Music
Louis Bertignac, guitarist of the french group
Téléphone.

SILENCE OF LOVE
SYNOPSIS
Alessandro, an Italian professor of baroque music, lives in
Strasbourg with his 15 year old daughter, Irina, who’s in the midst
of her adolescent crisis, and with his brother, Crampone, a gentle
but crazy anarchist, obsessed with seeking political refugee status,
ever since the beginning of the Berlusconi presidency.
Wanting to be a model father after his wife’s death, he has put his
love life on hold, and with his gang of buddies and their burlesque
fantasies, he can never find a moment’s peace. Alessandro is
completely caught off guard when his daughter feels the first
stirrings of love, and suddenly his world is turned upside down….
INTERVIEW
“(Strasbourg) is a city whose esthetic I love, each section with its
different ambience. I also love the sound of it. You hear all of the
European languages there. In the streets people speak Spanish,
German, Portuguese, and Italian like Alessandro.”
Philippe Claudel
PRESS
“A sweet story in which Phillippe Claudel develops the theme of the
good life, as in the olden days: music, affection, friendship,
fantasy, altruism all give the film a sort of balance, a light
harmonious feel which keeps away the dark shadows.”

JENNIFER DEVOLDÈRE
FILMOGRAPHY
BIOGRAPHY
Jennifer Devoldère’s interest in the cinema goes back to when
she was eight years old… After having seen E.T. and Raiders of
the Lost Ark, she was determined to follow in the footsteps of
Steven Spielberg. Inspired by this childhood fantasy, right after
finishing her studies, she made several short films, winding up in
the publicity world where she directed ads for various well known
brand names, as well as for humanitarian organizations.
In 2009 she wrote and directed her first feature film, Jusqu’à toi,
with Mélanie Laurent and Justin Bartha. This first film of hers
conjures up the spirit of such American romantic comedies as,
Some Like it Hot. Jennifer Devoldère is quoted as saying she likes
to inspire chaos in her movies, like in the Italian films of the 50’s,
as opposed to the kind we see in contemporary cinema.
In 2011 for her second film, The day I saw your heart, she tells a
story of a complicated family situation between a detached father,
played by Michel Blanc, and his troubled daughter, portrayed by
Mélanie Laurent.
In two films now, Mélanie Laurent has played Jennifer Devoldère’s
alter ego. What’s more they look alike and one could easily
imagine that the actress is a reflection of the director. “Mélanie’s
way of expressing herself, her choice of words, her timing and
even just her general way of being, affects me. I can hear her
voice. She is multi facetted, and it’s this complexity of hers that I
like to focus on. She can be fragile and at the same time have
great strength… Show self-confidence, and yet be extremely
sensitive. In all honesty, I have a very strong bond with her.”

wants everyone to know about it. As he is on the verge of making the
deal of his career, he agrees to have himself filmed by Joseph Klein, a

INTERVIEW
Where did the film’s extravagant title come from?
It’s a short version of the famous Moi Jean-Marie Messier, Moi-Même
Maître du Monde and of Moi, Christiane F, 13 ans droguée, prostituée.
I love this very ironic clash of values. The film is a “portrait of a man
who’s a symbol of his era, a narcissist that’s thirsting for power for
whom the most important human value is that of his bank account.”
What is your opinion of businessmen like the one that is your main
character?“ They are killers who have no soul. They always want more
money and more power. And are completely unselfconscious about it
(…) With them, one swims in a narcissistic delirium. They’re big kids who
fight over who will win the most marbles at recess. At the same time
they are also men with wives, children, and friends with whom they also
know how to be very considerate.”

women get their revenge by poisoning, some by shooting, some by
spreading scandals, but not Isabelle. Instead she decides to hire
Remy, an inveterate bum who has failed at everything on land and,
so why not on the sea too…. as entertainment director. He doesn’t
let her down and is the boss’ worst nightmare. But eventually, he
finds his true calling…..
INTERVIEW
A ship is a floating island, a self contained place where people
can’t help but run into each other over the course of a day. This
situation was the perfect set-up for those real and very human
stories of love, etc… My screenwriter, Hector Cabello Reyes and I
took a week long cruise to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere,
and the biggest impression we came away with was that everyone
has a great time, they dress up, they dance, they’re happy.”

BIOGRAPHY
Eric Lavaine started his career in television in 1988 with Canal+,
where he worked for 10 years. After having written numerous skits
for “Les Guignols de l’info” and “Robin des Bois”, he became the
artistic director for the screwball medical sitcom“H” with Jamel
Debbouze and Eric & Ramzy, directing a pool of writers for 70
episodes.
In 2006 he wrote and directed the series “17” with Jean-Paul
Rouve, Maurice Barthèlémey et Jean Benguigui, as well as
drafted and wrote 150 episodes of a short program called Faut Il
with Maurice Barthélémy.
In 2006 he directed and wrote the screenplay for his first feature
length film, Poltergay, with its star-studded cast of Clovis
Cornillac, Julie Depardieu, and Lionel Abelanski, in which the
fledgling filmmaker’s penchant for slapstick and even politically
incorrect comedy is indisputable.
In 2009 he directed and co-wrote Incognito with the singer
Bénabar from the “H” series who also had his debut in this film.
Then in 2010 he directed Protéger et Servir with its accomplished
and popular cast featuring Kad Merad, Carole Bouquet, and again
Clovis Cornillac.
This year Eric Lavaine is back on the scene with his new comedy,
Bienvenue à Bord, bringing together some of the most well known
figures of comedy in France with Franck Dubosc and Valérie
Lemercier in the lead roles.
A fan of Tim Burton, as well as Harold Ramis and the Farrelly
brothers, Eric Lavaine also takes his inspiration from such French
comedies as the masterpieces of Yves Robert. He is particularly
interested in the art of defining and developing characters in the
films of Jean-Pierre Bacri and Agnès Jaoui, as well as those of
Claude Sautet or of Cédric Klapisch, inspirations which are as
diverse as his films.

SYNOPSIS
July 2010, Montreal, Canada. Sophie Malaterre, a 25 year old fashion
designer, is not looking forward to the summer holidays. She has no
plans, no friends, no boyfriend… Then she hears about the website
SWITCH.com that gives her the opportunity to do a house exchange for
a month. Miraculously, Sophie finds a duplex in Paris, with view of the
Eiffel Tower. Her first day there is idyllic. The next morning though, she
is awakened by the cops. A decapitated body is in the room next door
and she has no way to prove that she isn't Bénédicte Serteaux, the
owner of the duplex. The trap is closing in on her… Not only has she
swapped apartments, but she's also swapped her body and her destiny
as well….
INTERVIEW
I enlisted a commander of the criminal brigade whom I’ve known since
doing “Scenes de crimes” so that he could tell us if the way the cop
played his role was true to character and if the plotline was credible (…)
He confirmed (…) that this story would only be possible if it happened
over the course of 48 hours and if it began on a Sunday in August when
the police force is at half staff and all the administrative offices and
embassies are in vacation mode…”
Frédéric Schoendoerffer, réalisateur
“What’s the most interesting thing in police stories? The action , the
motive, of course. But in fact for me there’s no motivating factor more
important on earth than the question about where we come from, than
these questions: how and why am I here on earth?”
Jean-Christophe Grangé, Co-Director
PRESS
“Thanks to its precisely orchestrated production, “Switch” immediately
establishes such an oppressive feeling that one would be tempted to
compare it to that of a Hitchcock film (…)”
