A hands on demonstration of pruning, wiring, shaping and potting a tree will follow the presentation. This program is free and open to the public. Registration is required. Join us as we encourage each other in maintaining a writing schedule with the goal of using writing as a tool of empowerment, healing and personal discovery. Free Film Screenings The Bliss of Mrs. Blossom Monday, May 20th 6:30 PM Fiction, 1968, 93 minutes Harriet Blossom (Shirley MacLaine), the lonely wife of a workaholic brassiere manufacturer (Richard Attenborough), breaks her sewing machine and ends up in bed with the repairman (James Booth), a mechanic from one of her husband‟s factories. The man, Ambrose, is supposed to leave during the night but Harriet finds him the next day still hiding in the attic. Harriet lets her new lover stay in the attic for years, managing to keep it all secret from her husband and from the detectives investigating the sudden disappearance of a certain Mr. Ambrose Tuttle. As novice pastor Charlotte Stewart, no-nonsense Margaret Peele, maverick Louise Fisher, steadfast Jessie Jenkins, and busybody Beatrice Newgarden meet to share recipes, they begin to open their lives and hearts as well. Calling all writers, poets and scriptwriters! Anyone Can Be A Novelist! Have you ever had an idea for a book but never got it started? Or did you start a book but the fear of it being „accepted‟ has kept you from moving forward? Then join us! Ages 8 - 15 are invited to enter our drawing contest. Draw a new cover for your favorite book on 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper. Drop your drawing and an entry form, available at your school or the library, by 5PM on Friday May 10th. We will hang them up in the Library for people to vote on their favorites. At the end of Children‟s Book Week we will tally up the votes and award prizes for the first, second and third most popular pictures. Good luck to all of our young artists out there! Spring Storytime April 16th through May 23rd The schedule is: 18-36 months old: Tuesdays 2:00PM 3-4 year olds: Wednesdays 2:00PM 4-6 year olds: Thursdays at 2:00PM We‟ll enjoy stories, songs, crafts, games and films - and if the weather is nice we can use our children‟s courtyard!. No signups are required--just show up for your age group‟s time slot. The 18-36 month group MUST have an adult in the Story Room with them at all times.
