Queen of the Saints
A Newsletter for Radio Maria USA -- National Volume 6, Number 9 Radio Maria USA Queen of the Saints Dear Family of Radio Maria, Greetings and peace to all as we enter the month of November. It is a month to remember the Saints and the Souls in Purgatory, our brothers and sisters who make up the Communion of Saints with those of us on earth. As you know, a big part of our mission here at Radio Maria is to pray together and to share the many needs we have in the Communion of the Saints—living and deceased. So, once again we invite and welcome your own prayer intentions this month— to remember in a special way your loved ones who have died in our all Holy Masses, rosaries, and prayers. In the opening prayer for the Solemnity of All Saints, we pray: That God would bestow on us “through the prayers of so many Intercessors, an abundance of the reconciliation with you [God] for which we earnestly long.” We ask the Saints and the Poor Souls to pray for us as well in that “exchange of spiritual goods” which belongs to us as members of Christ’s Mystical Body. We ask the Saints in Heaven especially to pray for us and those who have died so that we can all be reconciled in the Kingdom of Heaven both while still here below and after we die. This month we also celebrate our national holiday—Thanksgiving. We have so much to be grateful for in our country; and yet so many of the freedoms for which we give thanks each year are challenged and threatened today—especially our religious freedom. While we give thanks this year, let us also re-commit ourselves and our families to the values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness which we inherit as citizens of this country. And we at Radio Maria give thanks for you— our family—and for the all the generous ways you help to sustain this Mission of Our Lady for the New Evangelization. God bless and keep us all, and may the Souls of the Faithful Departed through the mercy of God, rest in Peace. Amen. Yours in Jesus and Mary, Fr. Robert Young, O.F.M. Father Robert Young, O.F.M. Program Director, Radio Maria US November, 2013 Monthly Messages from Our Lady October 2, 2013 Message to Mirjana “Dear children: I love you with a motherly love and with a motherly patience. I wait for your love and unity. I pray that you may be a community of God’s children, of my children. I pray that as a community, you may joyfully come back to life in the faith and in the love of my Son. My children, I am gathering you as my apostles and am teaching you how to bring others to come to know the love of my Son; how to bring to them the Good News, which is my Son. Give me your open, purified hearts and I will fill them with the love for my Son. His love will give meaning to your life and I will walk with you. I will be with you until the meeting with the Heavenly Father. My children, it is those who walk towards the Heavenly Father with love and faith who will be saved. Do not be afraid. I am with you. Put your trust in your shepherds as my Son trusted when He chose them, and pray that they may have the strength and the love to lead you. Thank you.” October 25, 2013 Message to Marija “Dear children! Today, I call you to open yourselves to prayer. Prayer works miracles in you and through you. Therefore, little children, in the simplicity of heart seek of the Most High to give you the strength to be God’s children and for Satan not to shake you like the wind shakes the branches. Little children, decide for God anew and seek only His will, and then you will find joy and peace in Him. Thank you for having responded to my call.” RADIO MARIA IN THE OKTOBERFEST PARADE. Radio Maria volunteers participated in the Minster (Ohio) Oktoberfest Parade recently. In addition to riding on the float, RM volunteers held a Bake Sale and Raffle during the threeday Oktoberfest (Oct. 4-6), netting more than $4,200 for Radio Maria! Thanks to Roseann and Clete Prenger, chairpersons of the Bake Sale, for organizing the baked goods donations and overseeing the volunteers who manned the Bake Sale booth all weekend; and to Terri Kemper, who organized the raffle and printed and distributed all of the tickets. Another fundraiser, the Speedway Lanes Breakfast Brunch, held this past weekend, is expected to raise around $900 after the final count. Thanks to Les Prenger, chairperson of the Brunch, for his work in organizing the volunteers, working at the event and selling tickets. Several volunteers manned the Radio Maria booth at the Rapides Parish Fair throughout the weekend of Oct. 11-13, giving out schedules, helping people download the RM app, and selling tickets for the Immaculate Conception Sweepstakes for a free trip to either the Holy Land or to Medjugorje. A FAMILY GATHERING IN NEW YORK CITY. Fr. Robert Young traveled to New York City in early October to meet with RM President Carlo DiMaggio; Fr. I love Our Lady’s Rosary, hearing the Mass, Divine Mercy Chaplet and Liturgy of the Hours. I just can’t get it all the time! Thank you and please use this small donation to keep all of your stations on the air. -- Michelle from Louisiana “Thank you and God for all the excellent teaching—but especially for the teachings on the Divine Will.” -- Barbara from Minnesota “While driving to Houston, Texas, I discovered Radio Maria. I was on my way to visit my son who is in the hospital being treated for leukemia. I was strolling through different channels and came across your station out of Lake Charles, La. I was overjoyed to find such a wonderful station. I said several Rosaries and listened to the Mass. There was a beautiful Ave Maria song that I would love to know the name. I will start listening to the station as I am travelling in southwest La. and try to listen when I can on the computer (Internet) or i-Phone (app). Thanks. -- Lawrence from Louisiana “Dear Fr. Young, -- Thank you for Radio Maria. We are learning and growing in our Faith. Blessings to all of you.” -- The Dupree family from Louisiana “Dear Father Robert and all volunteers of Radio Maria, -- While sending you my pledge for the 2013 Fall Mariathon, I would like to take this opportunity once again to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your great effort, your love, and your sacrifice, that you are making for this mission to succeed. Thus far in this Fall Mariathon. You have done an excellent job and I hope it will be as successful as the previous year. May God continue to bless all of you and your families, and may the Blessed Mother continue to guide us on this journey to make Radio Maria as successful in the U.S. as it is throughout the world.” -- Carlo DiMaggio, RM president, NYC Pray for Mr. Ferrario Our World Family President The founder and president of the World Family of Radio Maria, Emanuele Ferrario, continues to recover from a case of malaria. We ask all our listeners to please keep Mr. Ferrario in your prayers that he may continue to inspire and guide this great project of Our Lady’s Radio.
