HavingARM Truobles? Kudos for Credit Unions
Kudos for Credit Unions Credit unions have been getting some very good press lately. Delaware First Federal Credit Union wants to make you a “Millionaire for a Day!” All you need to do is spread the news about your credit union to your family, friends, and coworkers. Remember that anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in New Castle County, Delaware is eligible for credit union membership at Delaware First! All new members opening a Delaware First share account between July 1 and September 30, 2008, will be entered into the drawing to become one of Delaware First’s “Millionaires for a Day.” The current Delaware First member responsible for each new member referral will also be entered into the “Millionaire” drawing. On October 1 a total of four prize winners will be selected through a random drawing of all eligible members. Each winner will then receive the equivalent of one day’s dividend on $1,000,000* credited to their Delaware First share account. Use the form below to refer a new member today! (Photocopies will be accepted.) *Dividend will be calculated based on the rate in effect on October 1, 2008, on the DFFCU regular share savings account. Yes! I am a new member of Delaware First Federal Credit Union. Please add my name to the “Millionaire for a Day” drawing being held on October 1, 2008. Name Member Number Address City, State, Zip Daytime Telephone Number A headline in the April 27 Wall Street Journal advised readers to “Check Credit Unions for Better Deals.” The article reported the results of an interest rate survey conducted by Datatrac, a financial services firm. Datatrac found that, on average, credit unions’ rates were superior to banks’ in every loan or deposit account category the survey looked at. Credit unions, it was noted, have weathered the subprime storm better than other financial institutions, thanks to prudent underwriting standards. As an industry analyst from the California Credit Union League who was interviewed for the article observed, “Because we’re member-owned, any dollar that’s lost is a dollar of the membership’s money, not some faceless shareholder, [so] they don’t take the risk.” Obviously you’ve already found one, or you wouldn’t be reading this. But share this good news with your family or friends and encourage them to join. DFFCU referring member ______________________________________________________ See inside for details. We can help!
