The casino entertainment complex includes the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis, which was named one of the 500 World’s Best Hotels by Travel + Leisure magazine, and HoteLumière. The company changes its name to Pinnacle Entertainment to better reflect its collection of assets and values. Later that year, Pinnacle opens Belterra Casino Resort & Spa in Vevay, Indiana, attracting guests from Ohio, Kentucky and other nearby states. Pinnacle Entertainment traces its roots back to 1938, when movie mogul Jack L. The purchase includes Boomtown New Orleans in Harvey, Louisiana and Boomtown Reno in Verdi, Nevada, both of which the company owns today. 1998-1999 In 1998, the company expands further into the casino hotel business with the acquisition of Casino Magic Corp. The purchase includes Boomtown Bossier in Bossier City, Louisiana, Casino Magic Biloxi in Mississippi and several boutique casinos in Argentina. With its success in the casino business, the company sells off the Hollywood Park racetrack in 1999. 2006 Pinnacle sells its Casino Magic Biloxi assets and acquires the President Casino in St. Louis, Missouri, after committing to build two other casino projects in the city. 2010 In March, River City Casino opens in St. Louis County. In June, Pinnacle permanently closes the President Casino, and a month later announces the sale of its Argentina properties.
