Monetary Donations: Monetary gifts give us the ability to provide activities and programs for patients and families throughout the year. Every item purchased by the Child & Family Life department for use with Mott patients & families is funded 100% through generous donations. Some examples of programs and services that benefit from your generosity are: the Hope Beads Program, Mott Siblings summer program, Skyline Café family dinner night, bereavement support services, and medical play and distraction services. Checks (made payable to UMHS Child & Family Life) can be mailed to: Child & Family Life – Room F2519 C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital 1500 E. Thank you for your interest in helping ease the stay of Mott patients and families. Many of our donations are received at the holiday season however we strongly encourage your gift yearround. There is a constant need for material items throughout the year A new kind of donation: Because storage space is limited to store toys and gifts, you can help us by donating gift cards, instead of traditional toys. This provides our staff with the flexibility to make “on-demand” toy purchases. Gift Card Ideas -Target -Meijer -Oriental Trading -Michaels -Visa -Toys R’ Us -iTunes To donate gifts this holiday season, please deliver your donation no later than: Wednesday December 11th, 2013 This will allow us time to sort, inventory, and distribute the items as appropriate for the holidays and beyond. Donations will be accepted again following the 1st of the year. Please contact Mott Community Reminders: No used items, please. Toys with religious themes cannot be accepted. Due to infection control guidelines, donors are not allowed to personally distribute gifts directly to patients. Please avoid dollar store items because of recent safety recalls and their tendency to break. If you wish to donate beanie babies, blankets and other knitted items please contact Community Relations to see if there is a need. The Child & Family Life staff distributes donations in the interest of Mott patients. If a donation cannot be appropriately used in the children’s hospital, we will distribute the gifts to UM Main Hospital, Ann Arbor Kiwanis, or other outside charitable organizations. Contact us!
