Tastier & Healthier Choices
Good Food, Good Life
Nestlé strongly believes that healthy diets must be enjoyable to be
sustained. We understand that consumers are looking for healthier
foods that do not compromise on taste.
Accredited Practising
Dietitians (APDs)
Nestlé is the largest employer of Dietitians and
Nutritionists, with approximately 30 working
across the business in Oceania alone.
Nestlé Research &
Development Centre
Nestlé invests over AUD$1.6 billion in Research
and Development every year, more than any
other food company. Nestlé works with a
network of over 5,000 scientists and
technologists to advance the frontiers of
nutritional science, by developing safer,
healthier and better tasting products.

Nutritional Profiling System
NNPS is a rigorous system used to benchmark
our products annually against set criteria.
It assesses a product’s nutritional contribution,
considering its role in a balanced diet,
its ingredients (including fat, added sugar,
calcium and wholegrain) and the serving size
usually consumed, either by adults or children.
Since implementation, we have renovated the
Nestlé portfolio representing 70% of net sales
to meet the Nutrition Foundation criteria.
As part of our continuous improvement our
ambition is to reach 80% by 2016.
Nestlé 60/40+ Program
60/40+ Program
The Nestlé 60/40+ program constantly
re-challenges our products to ensure that
they are preferred by at least 60% of
consumers of a large panel.
5,500
Nestlé provides nutrition based training for
employees across Oceania. The training focuses on
improving nutrition knowledge and aims to
empower employees to make informed food and
beverage choices for themselves and their families.

Nestlé Nutrition
Profiling System (NNPS)
Nutritional assessments are conducted
locally which guarantees that wherever
Nestlé operates, it is the nutritional needs
of the local consumer that dictate the
formulation of our product.

Know Your Portions
Good Food, Good Life
Nestlé encourages responsible nutrition, moderation and
variety in food habits. We are committed to supporting consumers’
efforts to balance their diets. Over the years, our perception of what
constitutes a serve, or a portion of food has been slowly increasing.
The result of this is that we are eating more and more.
Did you know?
100,000
To date Nestlé has provided approx
portion plates to employees, dietitians, healthcare
professionals and consumers.
Nestlé Portion Plates
Nestlé provides support to consumers
to help them balance their diets. As
part of our continuous improvement
we are renovating our products and
packaging so that they provide clear
portion guidance. Be it as clear portion
communication on pack, or packaging
and product format enablers, our goal
is to make eating the right amount and
frequency as easy as possible.
As part of the Nestlé staff wellness
program our employees across our
factories and offices participate in the
Global Corporate challenge. In the
evaluation report 65% of participants
said that they think their portions sizes
are too big. The Nestlé Portion Plates
were distributed to all staff as part of our
Nutrition Training initiative.
With the Nestlé Portion Plates,
healthy eating is as easy as
1, 2, 3.
Designed to show how easy it is
to manage your main meal serve

Tasty Partners to Core Foods
Nestlé products deliver convenience and taste across the meal
occasions. Many of them help drive consumption of core foods
such as MAGGI, MILO and Uncle Tobys.
Our nutritionists work closely
with our business to continually
renovate and innovate our
portfolio to reduce amounts of
sodium, added sugars, trans fats,
saturated fats and to increase
the positive nutrients such as
fibre, calcium and wholegrain in
our products.

UNCLE TOBYS Cereals
UNCLE TOBYS breakfast cereals have undergone a series
of renovations with all meeting the Heart Foundation Tick
nutrient criteria. They deliver a source of fibre
(many are high fibre) and are made with at least
25% wholegrain (most are 75% wholegrain). All
UNCLE TOBYS cereals meet FSANZ nutrient profiling criteria.

MILO not only helps encourage milk consumption
but makes more of milk. One serve of MILO added to
milk boosts calcium content by 70%.* A sub-analysis
of National Children’s Nutrition and Activity Survey
found that MILO and milk drinkers consume more milk
and calcium than plain milk or non-milk consumers.^

Insights, Marketing, Nutrition and Regulatory and Scientific Affairs.
We also work in close collaboration with external independent experts
