FINISHED SIZE
Completed square measures 20 cm (8 in) wide by 20 cm (8
in) long.
SQUARE
Using 4½ mm (US 7) needles cast on 41 sts.
Work in g st for 5 rows, ending with WS facing for next row.
Next row (WS): K3, P to last 3 sts, K3.
Cont in patt as folls:
Row 1 (RS): K4, *P3, K3, rep from * to last st, K1.
Row 2 and every foll alt row: K3, P to last 3 sts, K3.
Row 3: Knit.
Row 5: K5, *MB, K1, P3, K1, rep from * to last 6 sts, MB, K5.
Row 7: As row 3. Row 8: As row 2.
These 8 rows form patt.
Cont in patt until 42 rows of patt have been worked, ending on
patt row 2 and with RS facing for next row.
Work in g st for 5 rows, ending with WS facing for next row.
Cast off on WS.
Pattern note: make 3 squares using yarn A and 3 squares
using yarn B.
Slip all sts knitwise.
MAKING UP
Press as described on ball band. Sew
in any loose ends.
