NEWS
COMMITTEE MEMBERS 2011
Please do not forget that RFRC will need some additional willing volunteers
to join our Committee for 2011. New members should join us in November
after the AGM has taken place, when those Committee members who have
decided to resign their position, will step down.
We need people who will bring some new ideas and possible changes to
the Riding Club, or have skills that may help with Committee business, or
anybody who has some spare time to help ‘share’ the workload, or who has
a shared interest in equine activities, any of you could fit the bill!
So if you are looking for a new challenge, please contact one of the existing
Committee or email us on Rfrc1email@aol.com
RFRC MEMBERSHIP
As stated in the last newsletter edition, RFRC membership fees will be
payable from 1st November 2010 for next year. Although, it was planned to
include a membership form with this issue, as the membership fee for next
year has not yet been agreed, this has not been possible.
The membership fee for 2011 will be discussed at the next Committee
Meeting on 4th October, and once this has been agreed, the website will be
updated. In addition, a new membership form will definitely be included
with the November newsletter. Forms will also be made available at our
AGM for members who would like to join that evening.
WINTER DRESSAGE
Don’t forget that our Winter Dressage series is due to start on 27th
November. Although Jonathan Canty will be resigning his position on the
Committee next year, he has kindly offered to organise the dressage with
the help of a member of the committee. Thank you to Jonathan.
In addition, the AmTrust Royal Windsor Horse Show Riding Test qualifier
has been added to the schedule for Sunday 20th February 2011. A new
format for the AmTrust Equine RWHS British Riding Clubs Championships
is currently being worked on. It is hoped that this will make the competition
easier to understand and manage, and be more cost effective and easier for
Riding Club organisers to administer. More information will be made
available to riding clubs very soon. Once RFRC has this information,
details will be printed in the newsletter and will also be made available to
view on our website. Class 5 on 20th February will be reserved for this
qualifier to take place.

2010 RFRC AGM – Thursday 18th November at Raunds Football Club
This year’s AGM has now been organised and our ‘speaker’ for this year is
George Whittaker Jnr, Huntsman of the Woodland Pytchley Hunt. George
Jnr will be talking to us about hunting generally and sharing his experiences
of modern day hunting with us.
As well as our Guest Speaker, the new committee for 2011 will be elected
and you will have a chance to show your appreciation and say your
farewells to some of our long-standing committee members who will be
resigning their positions this year. Of course, the Trophy Awards will take
place during the evening as well. Those members who will be receiving an
award will be notified prior to the AGM taking place.
It would be really great to see as many members as possible at this year’s
AGM, it is probably the best opportunity for RFRC members to socialise and
to celebrate the successes of some of our members. The bar will also be
open during the evening to help matters go with a swing!

MEMBER POINTS
Regretfully, member points will not be updated in this newsletter as
indicated in the September issue. As the RFRC membership year is almost
over, no further points awarded for 2010 will be published in this year’s
newsletters. A full list of points awarded for 2010 will be available to view
on our website once all events have taken place. We would like to
apologise to any members who are disappointed as a result.
Should you have any queries or concerns regarding 2010 points, please
contact Elaine Harton, who will be happy to help you.
AREA
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – Lincoln 12th & 13th September
Well done to RFRC members who qualified to go to Lincoln this year.
Sadly, among some stiff competition, there were no placings for any of our
members. It should not be forgotten though, that it is an achievement to
have even qualified for the Championships!
Well done to Elaine Harton who, as the only RFRC senior member to
qualify, so had to compete on her own riding an unfamiliar horse, kindly
loaned to her by Antonnia McKinnon-Wood.
Well done also to Rose Bishop, Emily Hall, Emma Rollings, Leyla Under
and Sophie McKinnon-Wood, who despite not being placed, all had a
wonderful time.
And a special message of thanks from Antonia for all the help and support
of the junior competitors and their families during their time at Lincoln. All
the competitors supported each other, were smartly dressed and were
riding well turned out ponies.
The ‘team spirit’ was fantastic with all
families and competitors working together to make the experience as great
as possible. This ‘team spirit’ made the job Antonia is doing worthwhile and
far more enjoyable. Thank you.
AREA 7 LIAISON MEETING – 9th November
All members are welcome to attend this meeting. If there is anything you
would like to discuss, please contact Rosemary Batten.

The winter qualifier is running early this year and is being held at a venue
