Traverse drivers stay connected to their personal devices and passengers entertained with a choice of radios loaded with
infotainment features. All systems feature a customizable Home Page with large icons that are intuitive and easy to use.
Multiple methods of control include knobs, capacitive buttons, touch-screen, steering wheel controls and voice recognition.
Other key features include:
• Smartphone pairing to audio system for Bluetooth
audio streaming

• Pandora Internet radio and Stitcher Smart Radio

COLOR RADIO
The standard audio system is a 6.5" high-resolution screen
with configurable home screen, hands-free control of
Bluetooth phones and voice commands through OnStar.

subscription after three-month trial)—3- and 5-day
forecasts with weather and traffic alerts
• Multiple ways to enter a destination, including using
points of interest with “franchise” search, favorites
and previous destinations
CHEVROLET MYLINK RADIO
Available MyLink (optional on 1LT and standard on 2LT
and LTZ) allows expanded infotainment features on a 6.5"
high-resolution screen that includes seamless smartphone
integration for hands-free phone calls.

MyLink in the Traverse has some key differences from
MyLink in other Chevrolet vehicles:
• Push to Talk button at top of touch-screen as well
as on steering wheel
• Push to Talk button brings up On Screen Voice

• Vehicle Settings done through Driver Information
Center; Radio Settings through the radio
• Multiple Home Pages can be customized in two ways:
the icons that appear on each Home Page and the
order of the icons on each Home Page

Menu/Select knob
• USB port is located in the instrument panel storage
area for easier access
• HD radio is part of the radio
• The Phone icon remains grayed-out until a phone

THE TOUCH-SCREEN
High Definition Radio Facts
No static: HD radio signals aren’t subject to atmospheric
interference the way current FM and AM signals are, so
background crackle and hiss are eliminated.
More channels: An HD Radio signal can be
subdivided to send out two or more different kinds of
programming simultaneously.
No charge: HD radio broadcasts are free to the public.
Easy to use: The HD logo will appear to the right of the
station frequency if available (for both AM and FM). HD
logo changes to an amber color when the radio is receiving
and producing digital audio. If your HD radio loses a
station’s digital signal, it will automatically switch over to
the analog signal broadcast at the same frequency. When
this happens, you may notice a slight break in the sound.
When the tuner is back in range of the station’s HD signal,
it will automatically go back to the digital broadcast if
tuned to the HD simulcast channel (HD1 for FM only).
Tagging: You can “Tag” or bookmark songs, and iTunes
will remind you of the song for potential purchase when
you sync your USB device. To download the tagged song
list, plug your Apple device into the vehicle’s USB port and
then plug your Apple device into your computer.
• Select Settings from the Home Page
• Select Bluetooth Devices
• Select Pair Device (Phone)—a four-digit Personal
Identification Number (PIN) appears on the display
• Start the pairing process on the cell phone to be paired
to the vehicle (See the cell phone manufacturer’s user
guide for information on this process)
• Locate the device named in the list on the cell phone.
• Follow the instructions on the cell phone to enter the
PIN provided above
• After the PIN is successfully entered, the system
prompts you to provide a name for the paired cell
phone—this name will be used to indicate which phones
are paired and connected to the vehicle
• The system responds with “<Phone name> has
been successfully paired” after the pairing process is
complete
• Phone icon on touch-screen becomes selectable

Icons Enable Touch-screen Control
Each Home Page on the color touch-screens can accommodate
eight icons—each of which acts as a button to access media
sources and radio settings. Touching an icon takes users to a
feature, or further controls for a feature. Touch-screen buttons
show on the screen when they are available. The icons available
depend on the radio and, in some cases, on whether the driver
subscribes to a radio band, internet station, or service.
When a function is unavailable or disabled because
the vehicle is moving, the button may gray-out.

Press to display the active source page Now Playing.
Sources available are AM, FM, XM (if equipped),
CD, USB/iPod, and AUX. On MyLink and MyLink
with Navigation, sources also include Pandora and
Stitcher (phone must be paired to use them).
Press to display the main page of the Phone
and its Menu, including dial pad, contacts, call
list and ringtones. This icon is grayed-out until
a phone is paired.
Press to display the Settings main page and adjust
features such as favorite pages, display settings,
audible touch feedback, and time and date.
Press to display the Tone main page and adjust
the tone and speakers by pressing the screen
buttons to change the levels of sound for treble,
midrange, bass, fade and balance.
Press to view Pictures on your connected USB
device or SD card. Pictures on the SD card can be
viewed only through a USB adapter. Picture Viewer
is disabled when the vehicle is moving.
Press to display the AM main page and its Menu,
and to play the current or last-tuned AM station.

track selected. This icon is also used to play
a DVD (if equipped).

How Things Work: Customizing Home Pages
You can customize each Home Page by selecting the icons
that appear and the order of the icons. The radio allows
you to duplicate icons on pages—if you want to see the
“Phone” icon on every page, you can as long as there are
no more than eight icons per page.
Move Icons within a Home Page
If you want to add an icon back to a Home Page
after removing it, you’ll need to re-select the icon by
accessing the “Customize Home Page” menu option
from the Home Page Menu, or select “Restore Home
Page Defaults” menu option to start over.
Add Icons to a Home Page
1.Touch Menu from one of the Home Pages.
2.Touch Sort.
3.Select an item (icon) to move, then select the
item (icon) to swap with, and the swap is made
automatically on that Home Page.
4.Press Done to complete the action.

Voice Control Easier Than Ever
Pairing the Phone
Using Voice Recognition
Initiate voice recognition and you’ll get an easy-to-use
voice command menu. Touch any of the options—Phone
Commands, Radio Commands, My Media, Navigation
Commands (if equipped) and OnStar—and the system will
walk you through whatever you want to do. You can adjust
the Navigation Prompt Volume from the Settings icon.
1. Press the PUSH TO TALK
button on the steering wheel
controls to activate the voicerecognition system.
Using Voice Recognition
Voice recognition will work whether the radio is on or off. If
you tell it to play a radio station and the radio is off, it will
automatically turn the radio on.
1.Press the PUSH TO TALK steering wheel control button
to activate speech recognition.
2. After the system says, “Say a
command or say help,” followed
by a beep, say, “Pair Phone.” The system responds,
”Follow instructions on the screen to pair a new
Bluetooth device.”
3. Start the pairing process on the cell phone to be paired
to the vehicle. For help with this process, see the cell
phone manufacturer’s user guide for more information.
3.After the beep, clearly speak a command.
4.When “Chevrolet Traverse” appears on your phone,
touch the vehicle name. If the PINs match, accept the
PIN code on the phone screen, then accept the PIN
code on the touch-screen—both confirmations are
required to complete the pairing process.
4.Press the Previous/Mute/End Call button again to
cancel speech recognition.
5. Once confirming the PINs, pairing will complete and the
paired phone will appear on the radio’s device list.
2.If the audio system is playing it mutes and the system
says, “Say a command or say help.” This is followed by
a beep.
Once becoming familiar with the voice
commands, radio feedback can be shortened
to speed up the use of the commands.
6. Once a Bluetooth phone is paired with the system, the
“Phone” icon becomes selectable. Press the “Phone”
icon and, on the next screen, press “Menu” to go to the
Phone Menu, where you can access:
– Dial Pad
– Contacts
– Call List (All, Missed, Incoming, Outgoing)
– Ringtones
– Bluetooth Device List

How Things Work: Playing your Media from USB Devices
The USB port is in the upper instrument panel
storage area. The USB icon displays when the USB
device is connected. The iPod icon displays when the
iPod is connected.
Common Voice Commands
for USB Devices
Play Device: Specific device Disc, AUX, Bluetooth, USB.
Play Genre: Play music from a specific genre.
Play Artist: Play music by a specific artist.
To begin playing a USB device:
Play Album: Play music from the specific album.
• Connect the USB device to the USB port in the
instrument panel storage area and it begins to play
Play Song: Play track including CD and DVD.
• Touch the Now Playing or USB icon on the
Home Page
• Press SRCE on the steering wheel controls or press the
faceplate button to toggle between sources until the
USB source is available.
Play Playlist: Play music in a pre-defined playlist.
Play Audio Book: Audio book by Author, Title, Chapter.
Play Podcast: Listen to Podcast.
• Or press the PUSH TO TALK button on the steering
wheel controls and say, “Play USB” or “Play iPod”
• Or press the PUSH TO TALK button on the steering
wheel controls and use an appropriate voice command
to control the device
• Press Menu to access a list of categories by which your
USB content is organized (Playlists, Artists, Albums,
Genres, Songs, Podcasts, Composers, Song Titles and
Audio Books)
MyLink in Traverse is not equipped with Gracenote, so
it won’t fill in missing song information—the radio’s
touch-screen will only display album art and song
information already tagged and stored on the device.

How Things Work: Streaming Music from
Bluetooth Devices or Playing Pandora or Stitcher*
• To stream music from a compatible Bluetooth device
or smartphone, the device must first be paired with
the radio.
• Icons for the internet radio stations Pandora and
Stitcher are integrated into MyLink-equipped radios and
allow control of the stations through the audio system.
These icons are grayed-out until phone is paired.
­• Note that there’s a special situation for iPhone and iPad
users. For full functionality when using these devices to
listen to Pandora and Stitcher, it is necessary to connect
through the USB port. Access to Pandora and Stitcher
through AUX or Bluetooth connections is possible, but
some functions will not be available.
• To use Pandora or Stitcher, three musts:
– First set up an account
– Install the app on the phone that’s paired with
the radio
• To play either station using voice commands, first press
the Voice Recognition button on the steering wheel
controls. Wait until after the system message and the
beep, then say–“Tune Pandora” or “Tune Stitcher”
• When you are in the Pandora Voice Menu, you may even
tell the radio which Pandora station to play–as in: “Tune
Pandora (station name)”
• MyLink also lets you use the Thumbs Down, Thumbs
Up and Skip Song icons by saying “Thumbs Down”
or “Thumbs Up”
• You can also use the touch-screen to control Pandora
or Stitcher – simply touch the icon on the Home Page
and the system will connect the paired device and begin
playing the station
• To select the “Thumbs Down,” “Thumbs Up” and “Skip
Song” icons, touch the correct button on the screen
– Log into the app on the phone
* Streaming Pandora or Stitcher will use the customer’s cell phone data
plan—not cell phone minutes. Check with customers to be sure their
data plan is adequate to allow for streaming Internet radio.

Map Scaling and Scrolling
Navigation System
More Intuitive for 2013
• Press the NAV button on the faceplate or touch the
Navigation icon on the Home Page to access the
navigation maps
• Press the NAV button again to toggle between
alternative views of the map
• Press the map mode icon at the bottom right side of
the map to reveal a list of map views. Press the desired
map view
• The Menu screen button at the bottom right side of the
display accesses the Navigation Menu
• Press Destination to go to the Destination Entry screen
and a variety of ways to enter a destination, including
Address, POI, Previous Destination, Address Book
and Trips
The system lets you adjust the viewing scale of the map.
Also, as you drive, the map scrolls automatically based
on the direction of
travel. There are two
methods to change
the map scale:
• To bring up the map
scale, touch the
current map scale
on the bottom left
of the map
• Press + or − on the ends of the map scale to change the
zoom level
• Touch the map scale bar itself to zoom to the desired
level. The map scale bar times out (disappears) if the
zoom level is not changed within a few seconds.
To scroll within the map, touch anywhere on the map
screen and the scroll symbol displays. Press the map to
center at the desired location. Press and hold the screen in
any direction outside the scroll symbol to scroll the map in
that direction. Scroll speed increases when touching closer
to the edge of the screen. Press NAV on the faceplate
to exit map scrolling and return to the current vehicle
location on the map.

How Things Work: Setting a Destination
Some of the most popular ways to enter a destination
are by:
• Address—Set a route by entering the state and city
name, street name, house number or junction
• POI (Points of Interest)—This method gives you a list
of categories to choose from. You can even zero in on a
favorite franchise.
• Previous Destinations—Up to 15 points that have been
previously entered can be recalled.
• Address Book—If a destination is already saved to
the Navigation Address Book, press the Home Page
Destination or DEST faceplate button to display the
Address Book screen button.
• Via Map—Press the Home Page Destination or DEST
button on the faceplate to display the Pick From Map
screen button. Press this button to display the map
screen with a crosshair symbol centered on the map.
Press the Zoom in/out button on the screen to scale the
map size. The adjusted map displays. Press the map to
locate the destination to select. Press and hold a finger
on the map to activate fast scrolling.
Once a Destination is Set,
You Still Have Options
Once a destination has been entered, press the
Destination icon or the DEST faceplate button to access
the Destination Menu screen. This menu allows you to do
a number of things, including:
• Press Cancel Guidance to cancel the current route.
A confirmation screen displays Yes or No. Select the
desired option.

• Select Turn List to view a list of maneuvers for the
entire route. Press the Avoid button next to one of the
turn maneuvers to avoid a segment of roads.
• Select Waypoints to Add, Delete or Sort waypoints
• Press Destination Information to display the
Destination Detail screen. The details of the selected
route show the start, any stops along the route and the
finish so you can view your route as a whole.
MyLink with Navigation –
Using Voice Commands
MyLink with Navigation allows you to enter a destination
using the voice-recognition system. To begin:
• P
ress the Push to Talk button on the steering
wheel controls
• W
ait for the system message and the beep, then
say, “Navigation”
• Wait for the system message and the beep, then use a
valid voice command for navigation, including one of
the following:
– “Contact” allows the user to select a destination
stored to the Navigation Address Book
– “Address” allows the user to enter an address in
two steps, e.g., “Detroit, Michigan” first, then “200
Renaissance Street”
