This workshop will discuss &utilize make and take activities to implement picture cue effectiveness in the everyday learning environment to promote positive behavior outcomes. 12:00 -1:00 p.m. Lunch & Vendors 1:00 p.m.- 2:30-p.m. Afternoon Breakout Session 1 Managing Behaviors Part 1 Judee Gorczynski, M.Ed., BBS, LSW, Child Guidance & Family Solutions Participants will learn the effective use of praise/rewards, ignoring techniques, choices and natural and logical consequences. This workshop will also discuss ways to help children self-regulate through a series of interventions including breathing strategies, coping skills, and a designated quiet space. Teachers will learn how the TSS helps measure and share student progress toward meeting the early learning and development standards and be informed on the process and procedures for sharing outcomes for each student with their receiving Kindergarten teachers. Handling Challenging Behavior with School Age Children Part 1 Kyle Ohl M.A.Ed. LPC, Child Guidance & Family Solutions Participants will learn about the thoughts and feelings behind challenging behaviors in schoolagers, steps that can be taken in the classroom/after care setting to prevent behaviors and how to respond during a situation for the best possible outcome. Session will touch on communicating with parents and documentation in response to difficult behaviors. Handling Challenging Behavior with School Age Children Part 2 The Summit County Preschool to Kindergarten Transition Skills Summary Project (TSS) for Administrators. Administrators will learn about the benefits of the TSS as a way to promote successful child development and support children’s transition to Kindergarten and learn about the process for enrolling their preschool program in the TSS, completing the TSS and how the information will be shared with receiving kindergarten programs.
