The only way that a mailing-list-only member can communicate with the Yahoo Group is by sending emails from her own mailbox. She can: a. email dalesfhs-normal@yahoogroups.com to get Individual Emails (she gets an email to tell her the change has been made). b. email dalesfhs-digest@yahoogroups.com to get Daily Digest (she gets an email to tell her the change has been made). c. email dalesfhs-nomail@yahoogroups.com to stop all emails (she is asked to confirm this) then use one of the above to reinstate them. d. email dalesfhs-unsubscribe@egroups.com to leave the group (she is asked to confirm this). SEPT 2012: PLEASE BE WARNED None of these email commands will be executed until you have confirmed your first request. So when you send a command email to any of the four dalesfhs-xxx email addresses above, you will be sent a system-generated email asking you to confirm it. Your own email provider may well flag this incoming confirmation email as Spam or Junk so you will have to go into your email filing system, find it, and click the necessary links embedded in it. • When you do find the message please upgrade it to Not Spam, using your email provider’s usual method, then complete the confirmation email and send it off. • Users of gmail have to dig deep to find their spam folders, but until you have done, and found the incoming message, nothing will happen. Only after you have sent off that confirmation will your original request be activated. end page 2 of 2 the illustrations taken from the Yahoo screens were accurate at February 2011
