This imbalance leads to pain from fascial and joint restriction, reduced proprioception, and poor muscle firing patterns. By treating the interlinked connections between the neuromuscular and osseous chains of the human body the clinician or therapist can treat chronic conditions that lead to injuries which reduce work capacities, limit athletic performance, and increase risk of re-injury. This hands-on workshop will teach you how to effectively identify and treat common somatic dysfunctions and muscle imbalances as they relate to the kinetic chains and fascial systems of the body. Through the combined use of manual therapy, therapeutic taping, and muscle re-activation this innovative course teaches simple but effective screening and evaluation methods. These methods identify postural deviations, muscle imbalances, and orthopedic dysfunctions as they pertain to the fascial and kinetic chains of the body thus allowing identification of the underlying orthopedic dysfunctions. Hands-on manual therapy, muscle re-firing techniques and kinesiology taping techniques will be practiced to correct these issues. About Your Program Instructor Michael Blubaugh MS PT, LMT, CPT, is a highly experienced manual physical therapist and performance trainer with over 20 years of experience in the combined fields of sports rehabilitation, outpatient orthopedics, edema management, massage therapy, and sports performance training.
