HOW IS THE
JOBCRAWLER
DIFFERENT FROM MO
CAREER SOURCE?
MO Career Source acts as a job matching
tool. Job seekers who match employer
criteria will find potential job matches.
WHAT IS THE
MISSOURI
JOB CRAWLER?
The Missouri JobCrawler site is a powerful
online employment search tool designed
specifically for today’s job seekers. A
joint collaboration between the Missouri
Division of Workforce Development and
the Missouri Economic Research and
Information Center (MERIC), it provides
fast access to job search tools and is
designed to be comfortable for everyone,
even individuals with little computer
experience.
The JobCrawler provides the job seeker
immediate access to detailed
information on thousands of jobs from a
variety of online job banks, corporate web
sites, regional hospitals, local newspapers
and government sites.
The spider and job matching technology
is currently used successfully by several
state agencies and local workforce
investment boards across the country.
Using “spidering” technology, the
Missouri JobCrawler seeks out job
postings from many different online
sources and allows job seekers to search
job postings based on criteria such as:
• Keywords
• Employers
• Salary
• Experience
• Industry code
• Job category
• Education
WILL I HAVE TO
REGISTER IF I ALREADY
HAVE A GREATHIRES
REGISTRATION?
Anyone can access the Missouri
JobCrawler without registering.
However, to access specific job seeker
services and to apply for a position
users must register in Missouri
JobCrawler. Individuals that have
registered with the JobCrawler will still
need to register with the MO Career
Source system in order to apply for jobs
that were originally posted through MO
Career Source.
The JobCrawler does not perform a true
matching of jobseekers to job openings
but instead allows job seekers the ability
to search for job openings that they feel
they are qualified for.
HOW IS THE
JOBCRAWLER
ACCESSED?
Any individuals can access the JobCrawler site with an internet connection.
You can also find the Missouri JobCrawler
from:
• The MO Career Source online resource
directory (on the “Job Seekers” tab)
• The MERIC homepage
(www.missourieconomy.org)
• The Missouri Base Realignment and
Closure (BRAC) homepage
(www.brac.ded.mo.gov)
WHAT JOB CRAWLER

approximately 15 minutes to complete
