Why Drink Wine with Dinner?
Why Drink Wine with Dinner?
At Bocanova we present our wine program as an extension of our menu—wines
that are as essential to the delight of every meal as the cuisine itself. Embracing a
broad range of styles, we look for regional typicity in wines of excellent structure
from the finest growing areas in the Old and New Worlds. As much as possible,
we'll present wines created with sustainable, organic, or biodynamic practices.
But honestly, since we work primairly with small, passionate producers, many
wines not certified as "organic" will have been produced in ways not dependent
upon chemical intervention, mass produced yeasts, or excessive filtration.
Such wines are integral to the Bocanova experience: that unquantifiable synergy
of enjoyment that arises when all the elements of a great dinner
are in the proper place.
When you think about it, grape fermentation is itself a kind of miracle. It not only
serves as a natural preservative of the juice and its nutrients, but metamorphoses
it into a beverage that even the biblical writers attributed to God: "…and
(God gave) wine to gladden the hearts of the people." Psalm 104. Our goal at
Bocanova is to make sure every wine we offer—from the least expensive wine
by the glass to the rare gems at the top of the list—lives up to that standard of
delight.
Please join us weekly for "Wine-down Wednesday."
Most bottles on this list are 50% off!
Corkage at Bocanova is $22 per 750 ml.

René Barbier, one of the 3 kings from Priorat, brings us his masterpiece, Clos Mogador.
Currently, Mogador is as mythical as Sassicaia or Chateau Margaux.
Priorat, wine once intended for the Priory and mass service, has become one of the most sought
after appellations around the world. René Barbier started to cultivate this plot in the 1970's in the
now-famous wine village of Gratallops and we now get to enjoy the 30 year anniversary of his
passion and work.
A very poised wine with a fine bouquet of blackberry, blueberry and violet. Course tannins
juxtapose the core of sweet dark fruit.
