Your efforts to make our time in church more prayerful is greatly appreciated. The gospel today about the tiny mustard seed that grows and becomes the largest of plants reminds me of what will happen this summer at St. Patrick Church. St. Patrick Parish is teaching a two week course of vacation bible camp. During these two weeks, the children of the parish have an opportunity to learn about God, the bible and how we are to live out our Catholic faith. Yes, little tiny seeds of truth are given to our children to help them learn and develop a loving relationship with their God. These young minds will begin a process that hopefully will lead them to become well informed young adults who will know their Catholic faith and learn to love it and share it with others. As a parish, let us pray for the children, the youth leaders and the adults who are growing into a large plant from their mustard seeds. The tiny seeds of the faith are also being planted in 12 children in our St. Patrick Catholic school infant care program, 24 children in our pre-school and 150 students attending our summer school program. Today is Father’s Day and a time to remember and thank our fathers, grandfathers and godfathers who have helped us in life to come to know God and learn about our faith. The prayer for father is a blessing given on the day of the baptism of their children. “God is the giver of all life, human and divine. May He bless you, the father of this child. Together with your wife, you will be the first teachers of your child in the ways of faith. May you also be the best of teachers, bearing witness to the faith by what you say and do, in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Happy Father’s Day! God Bless, Fr. Larry Young Pastor PARISH EVENTS JUNE 17 - JUNE 24, 2012 NEWS AT ST. Because of the overwhelming request for Mass offerings and to be fair to all parishioners, a limit of eight (8) Masses will be allocated per family for the year. All requests must be submitted to the parish office by using the Mass Offering Form and/or Mass Intention envelope. The stipend offering of $10 per Mass must also be included. Forms and envelopes are located in the church lobby or in the parish office. You can also schedule Masses by stopping by the parish office. Please note, Mass requests cannot be accepted without the proper completed forms and stipend offering included. Phone calls and emails will also not be accepted. We have limited the number of Mass requests per family in order to be fair to everyone and help make Mass offerings more available to all parishioners. We will do our very best to fulfill all needs and requests. Mass Intentions are on first-come, first-served basis. Should Masses remain open throughout the year, we are happy to offer additional offerings to families. Please feel free to call the parish office should you have any questions, 510-799-4406.
