Propulsion Product Services Azipod® Sample-based Oil Analysis ABB provides condition monitoring and analysis services for evaluation of the condition and status of non-driveend and drive-end bearings, slewing bearings and gear rims, and hydraulic steering motors and pumps. The oil analysis service enables advance detection of abnormal equipment condition, allowing you to plan and schedule corrective action, thus minimizing unplanned downtime and costly repairs. High quality, accuracy, and consistency in the oil analysis are ensured through application of the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 standard in all ABB laboratories. The solution ABB provides sample-based oil analysis service for evaluation of the state and condition of critical components, such as shaft-line bearings and steering systems. This comprehensive oil analysis enables monitoring of the condition and status of the critical components and aids in detecting potential failures before they affect production. The customer regularly takes oil samples and submits them to an ABB-approved laboratory for testing and analysis. From these results, ABB provides a complete report with trend analyses and recommendations. Trend monitoring enables detection of internal abnormalities early on. Comparison of the most recent report to previous reports allows determining developments and trends. Tested values that fall within acceptable limits may show a pattern of subtle variance that could signal a developing problem.
