Quality Policy SAMTEC, Inc. accepts responsibility for the complete satisfaction of its customers. We exercise this responsibility through adequate training of our employees, adherence to proven procedures, total commitment to meeting and exceeding customer requirements, and through maintaining an organizational culture that fosters continual improvement on the effectiveness of the quality and environmental management systems. Environmental Policy Statement As the service leader in the connector industry providing High Speed High Density Electronic and Electrical Connectors and Interconnects, Samtec is committed to conducting its business in a manner that will preserve and protect the environment. This commitment includes: Complying with environmental laws and other requirements Promoting the prevention of pollution Conserving natural resources Recycling materials Reducing waste Samtec’s commitment also includes the setting, reviewing and meeting of environmental objectives and targets. These will be designed to ensure a safe and secure environment for its customers, associates and the community though an Environmental Management System (EMS) that is continually improving. D Title: Samtec Policy Manual Ethics Policy Samtec’s name is synonymous with service and we are committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct. This commitment extends to our customers, vendors and associates alike and is reflected in our practices, which support social responsibility, integrity and honesty. It is therefore the responsibility of everyone at Samtec to support the following principles: • Associates will strive on a daily basis to conduct affairs in an ethical and honest manner. • Associates will question whenever a situation appears that could yield actions considered in conflict with Samtec’s Policies. • Any actions that have violated Samtec’s Ethics policy must be reported to Samtec’s Human Resources Department. It is not possible to list all of the issues that associates may face. They are encouraged to seek guidance when questions are raised. Samtec Human Rights Policy Samtec’s associates are our greatest resource and we respect the diversity of our global family, and the cultures and rights of our associates worldwide. Samtec defends the human rights of its associates and referenced the principles in the United Nations Global Compact and Universal Declaration of Human Rights in the creation of this policy. The actions of Samtec shall be to comply with the laws of the countries where we do business and protect the rights of our associates as stated within. It is the responsibility of Samtec Senior management to ensure that principles are communicated to all associates and upheld unconditionally. It is the responsibility of all Samtec associates to support the principles of our company; this extends to the companies that provide services and product to Samtec. Child Labor: Child labor is defined as anyone under the minimum legal age of the government where the work is taking place and is not permissible at any Samtec location. In some cases apprenticeship programs (or applicable programs) may be utilized but only to the extent allowable to local laws and regulations and in consideration of their safety and educational needs. D Title: Samtec Policy Manual Harsh Treatment: The use of Harsh or In-human treatment is not allowed within Samtec. The following items would be classified as prohibited: coercion (mental or physical), sexual harassment, verbal abuse, and threats or violence is not acceptable from any associate and will not be tolerated. Minimum Wages Samtec’s compensation and benefits shall comply with local laws and regulations where we do business including elements regarding minimum wages, overtime and other benefits mandated by the law of that region. Wage deductions and disciplinary wage deductions shall comply as well. The guidelines of how associates are paid (examples being - hourly, overtime, salary, bonus, etc...) shall be made clear to them Working Hours Working hours for all Samtec locations will be in compliance with the governing labor laws where the work is being performed. In the absence of any clearly defined law, no Samtec facility will exceed 80 hours overtime per month, per associate. Freedom of Association Samtec is committed to providing a positive work environment for all associates and to being a preferred employer. We have a long and rich history of treating our associates with dignity and respect, with providing competitive wages and benefits, having open and honest communications and providing an open door policy that ensures all associates can bring up issues without fear and retaliation. We strongly adhere to the belief that Samtec associates should not need labor union representation to achieve a positive working environment. While we respect our associates’ rights to associate freely in accordance with local laws, we also believe our associates, our company and our customers are best served when managers and associates deal openly and directly with each other regarding working conditions without fear of reprisal, intimidation or harassment. Freely Chosen Employment Samtec does not tolerate the use of any forced, bonded or indentured labor. All associates are free to leave and their association with Samtec is voluntary. Samtec associates are not required to hand over any government issued documents (passports, work permits or identifications) except to the extent needed for verification and to ensure compliance with local laws. The documents will be returned in a timely manner. Discrimination Discrimination of associates based upon race, age, gender, color, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, religion, marital status, political beliefs and/or affiliations shall not be used in employment practices such as promotions, rewards, training and/or hiring. D Title: Samtec Policy Manual Open Communication Samtec has an Open Door Policy and encourages direct communication between management and associates. This communication shall be open without fear of reprisals or harassment. Health and Safety The safety of our Associates is a primary goal and this is accomplished by providing a safe and secure working environment. Workplace safety rules are communicated to employees to ensure their well being and are enforced. Associate Satisfaction and Feedback Samtec benefits from the experience and knowledge of our associates through its Open Door Policy. Reviews give the opportunity to give and receive feedback and there are opportunities throughout the year to complete surveys in one of many forums (ex. Training, 360, Associate Satisfaction). Continuous Improvement Samtec continually looks for opportunities for improvement throughout our organization. We consider this and all our procedures and policies to be works in progress and to grow and evolve as our company does. Human Trafficking and Slavery Samtec recognizes tragedy involved in Human Trafficking and Slavery and will not tolerate these crimes within Samtec or the vendors with which we do business. Conflict Minerals Samtec recognizes the situation that is occurring in the Democratic Republic of Congo and does not allow the sourcing of any of the following materials that contain 3TG minerals; Tantalum (derived from Columbite-Tantalite), Tungsten (derived from Wolframite), Tin (derived from Cassiterite), and Gold and/or finished materials originating, sourced, and/or smelted from the Democratic Republic of Congo to be used within its products or by its supply chain. Anti-Corruption Samtec requires all of its associates to conduct business in an Ethical manner “as indicated in our Ethics Policy” and to abide by the laws of the countries where we do business. This includes avoiding any type of corruption. Associates (directly or through third parties) will not offer or receive payment from or to customers (the same applying between Samtec and vendors) with the intent of taking improper advantage or to influence decisions (the same policy applies to any other tools meant to intimidate and/ or influence decisions). Samtec does allow for modest gifts, and / or meals as long as they are appropriate and within the limits of the other companies &/or specific governments guidelines.
