Before moving to Wall Street, she was an expert witness for Deloitte and Touche in court cases involving economic issues. She began her career as an economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. She has served as a visiting professor at DePaul University. Karabell is president of River Twice Research and River Twice Capital Advisors, where he analyzes economic and political trends. Previously, he was the executive vice president and chief economist at Fred Alger Management and president of Fred Alger and Company. A recognized authority on the emergence of China in the global economy, he served as the portfolio manager of the China-U.S. growth fund, which won a five-star designation from Morningstar.
