Some of our parishioners have noticed that our Baptismal Font is no longer in the sanctuary of Sacred Heart Church and the Baptismal Font is no longer in the back of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Worship site. Three weeks ago, Father O’Sullivan had a marble craftsman carefully remove the Font from Sacred Heart Church to have work done on it and have it restored. When the Font is returned in a couple of weeks, it will be repositioned to the center aisle near the main entrance of our Church. In its new position, we will be able to use it as a Holy Water Font when we enter the Church as well as a Baptismal Font. (The Baptismal Font from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Worship Site was relocated to Sacred Heart Church for Baptisms while the Font is being refurbished.) THANK YOU! To NICOLE LINDER & JOSEPH PUCO, JR. Who were married in our Parish on October 4, 2014. THE BLOOD OF CHRIST! Beginning next weekend (October 18/19th), we will begin offering Both Species of the Eucharist (the Sacred Host and the Precious Blood) at all of our Sunday and Holyday Masses. (Currently, this practice is already in place at our Saint Augustine Worship Site, since it was a practice in place for the Liturgies at Saint Augustine Parish before our parishes merged.) At each of our Sunday Masses, we will have Extraordinary Ministers located near the side altars with chalices containing the Precious Blood. Parishioners are welcome to receive the Eucharist under both forms. For those wishing to receive the Precious Blood, the communicant should first approach and receive the Sacred Host and then proceed to the Extraordinary Minister holding the chalice with the Precious Blood. If you choose to receive the Precious Blood, the Extraordinary Minister will raise the chalice before you and proclaim, “The Blood of Christ”; you respond, “Amen” and then take the chalice with both hands, consume a small amount of the Precious Blood and return the chalice to the Extraordinary Minister. #143 Page 5 – Sacred Heart Dear Friends, I would like to thank all our parishioners who joined me for my Installation on Saturday, September 27th at our 4:00pm Mass. Special thanks to the members of the Installation Committee for their hard work: Rob Guenther, Bernie Gutkowski, Larry Kilian, Mary Sue Kilian, Andy Moletzsky, Pat Moletzsky, Sheila Sargent, Pete Wisniewski and Briana Wisniewski, as well as all our other parishioners who added to the celebration in any way! It was a truly joyous occasion for all who were able to be with us, as well as for our new Parish! For those who were able to join us after Mass, we enjoyed a wonderful evening in our School hall, with a delicious meal, shared by many! For those who were not able to join us for the Mass of Installation, I have included several pictures below from the Liturgy. Special thanks to Bill Smith for taking the pictures and allowing me to share them with our Parish. Through the intercession of Saint Augustine and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, may we always be United in the Sacred Heart of Jesus! Fr.
