The ŠKODA Superb Effective: October 2014 You’ll spend three years of your life in a car. Make the right choice. Choose the ŠKODA Superb. Welcome to the Superb The Superb has represented the pinnacle of ŠKODA style and design for nearly eight decades. First introduced to the range in 1934, Superb models have become synonymous with strong design and powerful road presence. Now, thanks to a substantial restyle of both the hatch and estate models, the latest evolution reaffirms its position at the top of the ŠKODA range. With a host of design enhancements that align the Superb with the latest members of the ŠKODA family, the flagship model in the range has a new energy and an even more engaging and striking appearance. The front of the Superb has been completely redesigned from the A-pillars forward, with new bonnet, wings, bumper and grille combining to give a familiar yet expressive new look to the Superb range. The Superb offers an improved engine range that delivers lower emissions and markedly improved fuel consumption across the model line-up. Every engine in the new range emits less CO2 than before, with every model delivering enhanced fuel efficiency. Read on to discover the new design, greater comfort and lower fuel consumption. 2 Model shown is Superb Estate Elegance with optional panoramic sunroof, front parking sensors and Brilliant Silver metallic paint. 3 The Superb has become a showcase for ŠKODA’S design and engineering excellence. Design Style, comfort and practicality are qualities that have always marked the Superb as a true flagship of the ŠKODA range. The design of the Superb is now defined by the new ŠKODA design language. The front is dominated by the new ŠKODA logo located above the chrome front grille and aligned with the headlights whose straight lines give a compact yet dynamic impression. 4 Model shown is Superb Hatch Laurin & Klement with optional Magnetic Brown metallic paint. 5 Superior and dynamic Electrically controlled fifth door. The Superb Estate is available with an optional electrically operated boot. At the touch of a button - either beside the gearstick, on the key fob (press and hold for 2 seconds) or on the boot itself, the boot will open automatically. When you have finished loading, press the button on the inside of the tailgate and the boot will close. This system has a clever feature for when you may park somewhere with a low ceiling - the height of the boot opening can be pre-set so you don’t have to worry about any unwanted scrapes and dents. EXTERIOR • BI-XENON LIGHTS • TWINDOOR • LED REAR LIGHTS • SUNROOF Bi-xenon lights. The optimal illumination of the Bi-Xenon lights perfectly match the overall dynamic look of the Superb. LED daytime running lights now complement the Bi-Xenon headlights by adding two vertical rows of LED’s making the car clearly visible and eye catching. Standard on Elegance and Laurin & Klement. 6 Panoramic sunroof (Estate only). Standard on Laurin & Klement and optional on SE & Elegance this twopart electrically-adjustable panoramic sunroof, provides an excellent enhancement to the luxurious interior of the Superb. LED rear lights. At the rear of the car, the light clusters are enhanced by LED strips as standard across the range creating a sharper and brighter appearance. Electric sunroof with solar cells. Available as an option on Hatch the sunroof supplies electric energy that drives an air conditioning ventilator, which takes care of the air circulation inside the Superb. Therefore even after extended parking in the sun a fresh and pleasant climate will await you. Twindoor (Hatch only). Twindoor is ŠKODA’s revolutionary boot opening mechanism which allows the boot to be opened in two different ways; as a hatch or as a saloon at the simplest touch of a button. This gives you great versatility and more practicality compared to a standard hatchback or saloon car. 7 INTERIOR • VAST INTERIOR SPACE • EXCEPTIONAL LEG ROOM Class leading space • WELL CRAFTED & SOPHISTICATED • CLEVER STORAGE SOLUTIONS Exceptionally spacious interior. The Superb offers a tremendous amount of legroom and luggage space for all passengers. The Estate has an enormous 633 litres of usable space in the boot which extends to 1,865 litres of space with the seats down. In comparison, the Hatch boasts 595 litres, all easily accessible via the Twindoor boot opening. This space extends to 1,700 litres with the seats down. Passengers also benefit from enormous amounts of leg room. Umbrella compartment. This ingenious compartment complete with Superb umbrella is designed so that the water from the wet umbrella flows away from the car and means whatever the weather you are prepared. Standard on SE, Elegance and L&K. Boot net programme. An option on both Hatch and Estate, this variety of nets enable your cargo to be safely stowed ready for any journey. Boot floor with aluminium rail and partition system. Available on Estate, this option helps secure your cargo in the vast luggage space. Superb Estate Elegance with optional wood decor and optional boot floor with aluminium rail and partition system 8 9 TECHNOLOGY • MULTI-FUNCTION STEERING WHEELS • RADIO & SOUND SYSTEMS • DSG • MDI Advanced infotainment • KESSY • PARK ASSIST Modern technologies not only make travelling more pleasant but increase the ease of handling the vehicle. For example, the optional 3-spoke multi-function leather steering wheel offers you control of the radio, phone and the automatic DSG (Direct Shift Gearbox). A 4-spoke multi-function leather steering wheel enabling control of the radio and phone is standard across the range. Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG), available in both 6-speed and 7-speed versions, guarantees smooth and rapid gear shifts resulting in maximum utilisation of the potential of the engine’s torque. The recommended gear shift function is displayed in the top right corner of Maxi DOT. The optional 10 speaker sound system with a 10-channel amplifier plus a digital equaliser and ten speakers provides excellent sound reproduction in the vehicle. The MDI (Mobile Device Interface) gives you the ability to control a connected external device through the radio, navigation system or multi-function steering wheel. Park assist. Optional on Superb SE and Elegance, standard on Laurin & Klement. Parallel parking and bay parking in the Superb is now easier than ever thanks to a further evolution of ŠKODA’s award winning Park assist. With a press of a button, the system will begin searching for a parking space in a line of cars or obstacles. When a suitable space is found (the car’s length + 60 cm is all the space needed), the car will steer itself into the space whilst the driver controls the pedals. The system will now also steer the car out of a line of cars from its parking space and with two presses of the same button, the car will search for and manoeuvre into a bay parking space. In vehicles equipped with the optional KESSY (Keyless Entry, Start and exit system) there is a Start/Stop button on the steering column for keyless starting and switching off of the engine. 10 The Bolero radio which is standard on SE has multitude of functions, such as a reader for SD or MMC data cards, the ability to play CDs as well as files in MP3 and WMA formats and memory for radio traffic reports (TIM). The Columbus navigation system with DAB radio which is standard on Elegance and Laurin & Klement has a 6.5" colour touch-screen and voice command function. 11 ŠKODA GreenLine III Technology ŠKODA Green Future forms an integral part of our corporate philosophy. This is reflected in our efforts to keep reducing fuel consumption and consequently CO2 emissions and no more so then as displayed by our GreenLine models. The Superb GreenLine has, among other modifications, a lower chassis and reduced weight. Powered by the 1.6 TDI CR 105PS DPF it achieves a combined consumption of 67.3 mpg (65.7 mpg on Estate) and a CO2 emission level of 109 g/km (Estate 113 g/km). A GreenLine badge can be found on the front grille. The GreenLine logo can be found on the rear of the car. Low rolling resistance tyres. The Superb GreenLine III has 16” Spectrum Alloys on S trim or 16" Helix Alloys on SE and Elegance trim. These lighter alloy wheels with low rolling resistance tyres have a higher prescribed air pressure to reduce friction. The Start-Stop system automatically switches off the engine, for example while waiting at the traffic lights. By pressing the clutch pedal the engine automatically restarts. Energy recovery functionality, further assists this by enabling effective use of the car’s kinetic energy for battery recharging. 12 Model show is Superb Estate SE GreenLine III. Please note in the UK Chrome roof rails are standard on this trim. 13 The ŠKODA Superb S The ŠKODA Superb SE Hatchback CO2 (g/km) VED Band* Insurance Group (50) Recommended Basic VAT 1.4 TSI 125PS 6spd 1.6 TDI CR 105PS 6spd DPF 1.6 TDI CR 105PS 6spd DPF (GreenLine III) 2.0 TDI CR 140PS 6spd DPF 2.0 TDI CR 140PS 6spd DSG DPF 138 117 109 119 135 E C B C E 19E 17E 17E 22E 22E £14,995.83 £16,104.17 £16,362.50 £16,604.17 £17,695.83 £2,999.17 £3,220.83 £3,272.50 £3,320.83 £3,539.17 142 119 113 119 134 F C C C E 19E 17E 17E 22E 22E £15,920.83 £17,041.67 £17,300.00 £17,541.67 £18,633.33 £3,184.17 £3,408.33 £3,460.00 £3,508.33 £3,726.67 RRP Recommended OTR* Business user information BiK P11D 2014/15 Value £17,995.00 £19,325.00 £19,635.00 £19,925.00 £21,235.00 £18,690.00 £19,890.00 £20,200.00 £20,490.00 £21,930.00 20% 19% 17% 19% 23% £18,505.00 £19,835.00 £20,145.00 £20,435.00 £21,745.00 £19,105.00 £20,450.00 £20,760.00 £21,050.00 £22,360.00 £19,815.00 £21,015.00 £21,325.00 £21,615.00 £23,055.00 21% 19% 18% 18% 22% £19,615.00 £20,960.00 £21,270.00 £21,560.00 £22,870.00 Estate Estate 1.4 TSI 125PS 6spd 1.6 TDI CR 105PS 6spd DPF 1.6 TDI CR 105PS 6spd DPF (GreenLine III) 2.0 TDI CR 140PS 6spd DPF 2.0 TDI CR 140PS 6spd DSG DPF Hatchback CO2 (g/km) VED Band* Insurance Group (50) Recommended Basic VAT 1.8 TSI 160PS 6spd 1.6 TDI CR 105PS 6spd DPF (GreenLine III) 2.0 TDI CR 140PS 6spd DPF 2.0 TDI CR 140PS 6spd DSG DPF 2.0 TDI CR 170PS 6spd DPF 2.0 TDI CR 170PS 6spd DSG DPF 2.0 TDI CR 170PS 4x4 6spd DSG DPF 158 109 119 135 120 139 147 G B C E C E F 25E 17E 23E 23E 25E 25E 24E £17,487.50 £17,583.33 £17,970.83 £19,062.50 £18,745.83 £19,837.50 £21,041.67 £3,497.50 £3,516.67 £3,594.17 £3,812.50 £3,749.17 £3,967.50 £4,208.33 160 113 119 134 122 138 149 G C C E D E F 25E 17E 23E 23E 25E 25E 24E £18,554.17 £18,650.00 £19,037.50 £20,129.17 £19,812.50 £20,891.67 £22,108.33 £3,710.83 £3,730.00 £3,807.50 £4,025.83 £3,962.50 £4,178.33 £4,421.67 1.8 TSI 160PS 6spd 1.6 TDI CR 105PS 6spd DPF (GreenLine III) 2.0 TDI CR 140PS 6spd DPF 2.0 TDI CR 140PS 6spd DSG DPF 2.0 TDI CR 170PS 6spd DPF 2.0 TDI CR 170PS 6spd DSG DPF 2.0 TDI CR 170PS 4x4 6spd DSG DPF RRP Recommended OTR* Business user information BiK P11D 2014/15 Value £20,985.00 £21,100.00 £21,565.00 £22,875.00 £22,495.00 £23,805.00 £25,250.00 £21,730.00 £21,665.00 £22,130.00 £23,570.00 £23,060.00 £24,500.00 £25,960.00 24% 17% 19% 23% 19% 23% 25% £21,495.00 £21,610.00 £22,075.00 £23,385.00 £23,005.00 £24,315.00 £25,760.00 £22,265.00 £22,380.00 £22,845.00 £24,155.00 £23,775.00 £25,070.00 £26,530.00 £23,010.00 £22,945.00 £23,410.00 £24,850.00 £24,340.00 £25,765.00 £27,240.00 25% 18% 18% 22% 20% 23% 25% £22,775.00 £22,890.00 £23,355.00 £24,665.00 £24,285.00 £25,580.00 £27,040.00 Standard Equipment 12V socket in mid console and boot Chrome inner door handles ESC incl ABS, MSR, ASR, EDS & HBA Outdoor temperature gauge 16" ‘Spectrum’ alloys (7J x 16" 205/55 R16 94V) Cloth upholstery Front aero windscreen wipers Cruise control Front armrest Passenger airbag de-activation switch Cup holders in the mid-console Front fog lights Curtain airbags Front headrests, height adjustable Premium GSM III telephone preparation with Bluetooth® (UHV & rSAP) Daytime running lights Fuel supply cut-off (in event of an accident) Radio ‘Swing’ 2 DIN with single CD (can play MP3 recordings) Tyre repair kit Gas strut for engine cover Rear LED lights Gear change recommendation (manual only) Rear seatbelts with pre-tensioners Vanity mirror with illumination, driver and passenger 2 folding hooks in boot 3 headrests rear, height adjustable 3.5mm aux socket (for MP3 players etc) 4-spoke leather multi-function steering wheel for radio and telephone Door open indicator Driver and front passenger airbags 8 loudspeakers Driver and passenger seat-belt warning light and buzzer Adjustable instrument illumination Driver’s knee airbag Air conditioned glovebox Dust and pollen filter Alarm with interior monitoring and tilt sensor Electric front and rear windows with child safety system Body coloured bumpers Electrically adjustable, heated, body coloured door mirrors (with integrated indicators) Body coloured door handles Black roof rails (Estate only) Brake pad wear indicator Chrome front grille with new ŠKODA logo Electromechanical speed dependent power steering Glasses storage compartment Halogen projector headlights with DE module Height adjustable driver and passenger seats ISOFIX (2 outer rear seats) Light assistant (coming home and tunnel light) Luggage space illumination Electronic engine immobiliser Manual air conditioning Energy recovery (1.4 TSI, 1.8 TSI and diesel engines only) Maxi DOT trip computer Remote central locking Removable LED light in the boot (Estate only) Storage pockets on the rear of front seats Ticket holder on the A-pillar Tinted glass Tyre pressure monitoring system ‘Twindoor’ (Hatch only) Variable servicing Ventilation outlets in B-pillar Removable parcel shelf S GreenLine III - When braking, wheel speed sensors measure the road wheel speed and should one or more wheels start to lock the system reduces brake pressure to that wheel. Elements of the ABS System :• Dual Rate Vacuum Brake Boosters: increases brake effort under emergency braking conditions. • EBC: Electronic brake control. The engine brake torque control regulates the power supply by intervening with the engine management system. • EBD (aka EBV): Electronic Brake Distribution automatically distributes different pressures to the front and rear brakes to stop the rear wheels from locking up under heavy braking. It also compensates for loaded and unloaded vehicles therefore doing away with the need for a Load Sensing Valve on the rear axle. CAN Bus: the CAN Bus is an electronic data bus which links the various different electronic control systems in the car. It ensures ideal co-ordination between systems and reduces the amount of wiring needed in the car. Fuel cut-out: should one or more of the airbags inflate after an accident, this system automatically cuts out the fuel supply, thus preventing subsequent leakage of the diesel or petrol. Trip Computer: the trip computer not only features an impressive range of data displays, operating it is simplicity itself. A multifunction touch key enables you to call up all relevant data on the easy-to-read display. Features include external temperature, time, current fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, miles driven and average speed. DPF: diesel particulate filter is part of the exhaust system responsible for cleaning the engine exhaust gases before they enter the atmosphere. The DPF catches soot particles emitted in the exhaust gas and it works in conjunction with the catalytic converter, which reduces the amount of harmful gases entering the atmosphere. The DPF must periodically be emptied of the soot particles, a process known as regeneration. This involves elevated exhaust system temperatures. A driving style is required during regeneration, where a constant vehicle speed above 37 mph must be maintained. This does not always suit customers who make frequent short journeys or experience stop/start driving or drive within inner-city or urban areas. Bi-Xenon lights: Bi-Xenon lights produce about 2.5 times the light of standard Halogen lights with 35% less energy consumption. CR: All Superb’s diesel engines are built on a system of Common-Rail fuel injection. The diesel engines have a high-pressure common rail direct injection fuel system and four-valve technology. As a result, the new engines are much quieter, more refined in their operation and consume less fuel, compared to the Pump Duse engines available previously and significantly reduce emissions. AFS: Adaptive front light system is a feature of Bi-Xenons and allows the light beam to adapt to the car’s speed, direction and the weather conditions. Urban driving emits a shorter, wider beam whilst faster driving emits a longer beam. Cornering function sees the beam turn up to 15 degrees in direction of the steering wheel’s turn. The beam will also adjust according to car load, acceleration and wet weather to prevent dazzling oncoming vehicles. ESC: Electronic Stability Control is designed to stabilise the dynamic handling response of the vehicle by counteracting any tendency towards oversteer or understeer. The ESC constantly compares the actual movement of the vehicle with predetermined values and according to the situation ESC reacts by braking each wheel individually (according to direction of slip) and automatically adjusting the engine’s output. Elements of ESC system:• ASR: anti-slip regulation traction control ensures the Superb’s stability when pulling away or accelerating. If the engine power or torque being transmitted to the drive wheels is too great, for example on a slippery road surface, engine torque is automatically reduced until optimum road holding returns, thus preventing wheelspin. A light indicates whether the ASR system is on. It can be manually switched off. • MSR: the engine torque control system recognises when the wheels are subject to too much slippage and regulates the power supply by intervening in the engine management system. This prevents wheelspin when, for example, changing down on a smooth or wet road surface. MSR is a constituent part of the ASR system. • EDS: the electronic differential lock continually compares the rpm of the drive wheels, and if it identifies a difference between them which could lead to an individual wheel spinning, for example if the two wheels are on different types of surface or accelerating on wet leaves, the system brakes the wheel affected until uniform rpm of all drive wheels is restored. • HBA: Hydraulic brake assistant increases the optimal build-up of brake power. It ensures complete use of the brake system potential, thus shortening the braking distance. • DSR: Driver Steering Recommendation – in a crisis situation it helps the driver stabilize a skid by making a slight intervention in the steering. • ESBS: Electronic Stability Brake System – targeted interventions in the braking process improve the handling of a car as it brakes when passing round a bend and keeps it from veering. Warranty Service Intervals Exclusions and limitations Wear and tear components will only be considered under the terms of the warranty for the first of six months or 6,500 miles, whichever is soonest. These include, but are not limited to brake linings and disc pads, clutch release bearings, clutch pressure plates and centre plates, tyres, wiper blades, seat and backrest covers, floor coverings, spark plugs, batteries for key fobs and alarms, light bulbs and shock absorbers. When you order your Superb, you can choose whether your car is on a fixed or a flexible service regime. Your retailer will help you decide which regime suits how your car will be driven, enabling your car to stay in the best possible shape. Mechanical adjustments including but not limited to adjustments to doors, flaps, boot lids, bonnets and sunroof, brake adjustment, clutch adjustment, v belt adjustment, ignition adjustment, headlight adjustment, steering geometry adjustments and wheel balancing are excluded. Damage (including but not limited to the following) is excluded: > Damage caused by your failure to take all reasonable steps to prevent mechanical damage from occurring. > Damage or defects caused by not having the vehicle serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines. > Damage or defects caused by improper use of the vehicle, neglect or use of the vehicle for motor sports activities. > Damage caused by an accident. > Damage to paintwork or chrome caused by external influences, such as climatic, chemical or industrial pollution. > Damage resulting from the use of non-original replacement parts. Routine maintenance and servicing is not covered by the warranty. Incidental or consequential costs such as hotel charges, car hire, loss of personal effects or income are not recoverable under the terms of the warranty. Fixed regime: Service every 10,000 miles or one year (whichever comes first). This is recommended if the vehicle is likely to be used in the following way: > Driven fewer than 10,000 miles per annum and/or > Mainly short journeys, drive mostly in towns or cities and/or > High vehicle loading/towing and frequent hill climbs and/or > Heavy accelerating and braking, using high revs Flexible regime: Sensors in the engine detect when a service is needed. You will be informed of this by a service light which will show at any point between 9,000 and 20,000 miles, up to 24 months (whichever comes first). The flexible service regime is recommended for vehicles with a daily mileage of more than 25 miles where the vehicle is driven regularly and mainly at a constant speed with minimum vehicle and engine loading, minimal towing and driven in an economical manner.
