Sue Craven --------(937) 233-3538 ---------- cravente@msn.come Sara Lowe ----------- (937) 878-3558 ------------- zanzibar1@att.net If you would like to learn more about what we do and how you may become a museum volunteer, just contact Sue or Sara. They both are long-time museum guides and would be glad to share their knowledge. Training and orientation are provided to all of our volunteers. You may design your own tour, escort groups through the museum, or read to classes on school tours. New volunteers are always welcome, and all branches of the military are accepted as volunteers. Also, the fourth hanger is completed and open to visitors. If you haven’t seen the displays yet, you are in for a treat! They all are spectacularly well designed and informative. Come by and see! THE WRIGHT WORD This is a fantastic year to be an OSC member! We have many activity clubs and monthly socials to keep you busy. We have a Photography Club, Spouses Night Out, Playgroup, Antiques Societe’, Lunch Bunch and Book Club. If you like to get crafty, we have Happy Hour Crafts, Brush and Palette, and our Rubber Stamp Club. Do you like to play games? If so, we’ve got you covered with Bunco, Bridge, Mah Jongg and a new group that’s starting— Euchre. If you like to sing, the Skylarks would love to have you join them. Our monthly socials will be fun and interesting, with lots of surprises! Our annual Casino Night will be back, as well as our take on bingo called “Blingo.” If you still have time after all of these activities, we would love to have you volunteer at our Thrift Shop. The Thrift Shop is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30am to 2pm. We are on Area A on Wright Avenue, in building 95 next to Outdoor Rec. If you’re looking to get more involved, the following board positions are still available: 1st Vice President, Admin Treasurer, Parliamentarian, Child Care Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, and Reservations. If you have any questions about any of these exciting events or great volunteer opportunities, please don’t hesitate to contact me at President@wrightpattersonosc.org. PAGE 3 AUGUST 2016 Unless otherwise stated, all groups meet in the OSC Activities Room, Building 95 (same building as the Thrift Shop). One OSC goal is to promote morale, goodwill, and fellowship among our membership through socials and special activities sure to appeal to a wide range of interests. However, we are always looking for new and fresh ideas; so if you have a hobby or skill that others might like to try as well, make a suggestion to the Activities Chair (from list on page 2). _____________________ •◦•◦ ANTIQUES SOCIETÉ ◦•◦•◦ _____________________ •◦•◦ BRIDGE (CONTRACT) ◦•◦• Elizabeth Clark ............... So as long as you’re stationed at Wright-Patt, why not learn to play? We’re considering meeting on evenings or weekends and including spouses, but we’ll go with when the most people are available. Please contact Lori or find her at the Activities & Welcome Coffee to sign up! Mah Jongg is a Chinese game of skill, strategy and calculation. Similar to Rummy but uses tiles rather than cards.
