A Facilities and Education Improvement Referendum is a public vote to make needed facility and educational improvements as deemed necessary by the Board of Education. School Facilities Information The two buildings total 182,634 square feet Ada-Borup Elementary was constructed in 1977 Ada-Borup High School was constructed in 1997-98 What is Being Proposed to the Voters? A $4,700,000 Facilities and Education Referendum Why is the District Asking Now? The School District, with the help of FJJ Solutions, developed a Strategic Plan to meet the following goals. o o o o o Elementary School Maintain long-term financial stability for the district; Increase educational opportunities for students; Improve the quality of our school buildings, particularly our elementary school. Continue to bring modern technology into our classrooms Provide local residents with high value for their investment. After prioritizing recommended improvements, the decision was made to address and invest in our highest priorities now, when construction and borrowing costs are still favorable. Property Tax Impact If approved, the $4,700,000 referendum will be spread over the entire Net Tax Capacity of the School District. All categories of property will be impacted. The following are examples of the tax impact on four different categories of property. The simulator uses the most recent information available for preliminary taxes payable in 2015 for this tax impact analysis.
