W E L C O M E T O F R I G H T F L I G H T ! Thank you making Fright Flight part of your ultimate season. With 35 teams and more than 650 players, this year's event promises to be a sight to behold. As many of you know, Fright Flight is not only a good time but also raises money for worthy causes. The primary beneficiary of the tournament is Colorado State University's Women’s Ultimate. Without the Hell’s Belles we would not be able to use the CSU fields and the future of Fright Flight would be in jeopardy. The substantial donation they will receive will allow the Hell’s Belles to travel to tournaments around the country and promote Women's Ultimate in northern Colorado. Thanks again for coming to Fright Flight. Play hard but laugh even harder. Respect your fellow players at all times, make good calls, take back bad calls when you know you were wrong and enjoy yourself. Players showing poor SOTG will be asked to leave and everybody will talk bad about you behind your back once you’ve left. You won’t be able to come to the party either. Alcohol Abuse and CSU Police at the Tournament Unfortunately, the last few years we’ve had a big issue with alcohol consumption at Fright Flight, which is strictly forbidden on the CSU fields. The abuse has included kegs on the fields, beer pong games and many more infractions, resulting in calls for the University to stop letting us use the fields for the event. In 2013, the Athletics Department formally reprimanded the Hell’s Belles – CSU’s Women’s Ultimate Team and our gracious host – and fined the club $1000. Additionally, CSU is now requiring the tournament to pay for University police to walk the event at random times throughout the weekend. They will be looking for any alcohol infractions (including beer, etc. in coolers), ticketing the offenders and asking them to leave the campus immediately. Furthermore, if the police find that tournament participants are not abiding by the university alcohol policy they will not allow us back in future years. Holly and I have been running Fright Flight for nearly 20 years and it is now the 2 largest annual tournament in the region. We need you to do your part in order to keep this event alive for many more years. Save your drinking for the party!!! Tournament Parking Please park at the Moby Arena parking lot that is just NW of the fields and accessed from Shields Avenue (see field map). There is some limited parking on South Drive near Frisbee Central but you can expect to get a ticket if you park there for the entire day. For teams with large props, etc., I suggest parking along South Drive to unload then move your vehicle to the Moby lot. The best way to access South Drive is to turn north onto South Whitcomb Street from W. Prospect Road, then take a left on W Pitkin Street. Follow Pitkin to the last Residence Hall (Ingersoll) and turn right into the westernmost parking lot. Go through the lot and take a right on South Drive, which is a one way street.. Frisbee Central/Field Food Frisbee Central will be located in front of the restroom facilities. On Saturday and Sunday mornings we will provide bagels, bananas, coffee, Gatorade and other tasty snacks. Captain's meeting Will be held at 9:00am Saturday morning at Frisbee Central. For teams with a first round bye, the captain does not need to attend the Captain’s Meeting. These captains will need to check in with me when they arrive. First Game starts at 9:30am. On Sunday, there will not be a Captain's meeting. Results of Saturday’s pool play and game schedule will be posted at the Party and at Frisbee central Sunday morning. Games start at 9:30am Sunday. Injuries and Taping There will be a trainer on site who will provide ice, tape ankles and care for injured players. The trainer room is located near Frisbee Central in the hallway by the bathrooms. The Party Held at Avogadro’s Number – 605 South Mason Street. Don’t miss it! There will be plenty of free food and beer, and two rocking bands - Choice City Seven and Equally Challenged – who will play from 8-12pm. Food will be served from 5-8pm and there will be gluten free options. We feed over 500 players so please be patient if there is a bit of a wait in the food line There are 7 kegs. Once those are history there is a full service bar to satisfy your drinking needs. You must have a ticket in order to enter the party, eat food, drink beer, etc. Your captain will get tickets once they pay in full for the tournament. o If you lose your ticket, there is a $10 replacement fee o If you want to bring a non-playing guest to the party the cost is $15 per person Team Costume Award The team with the best costumes will receive a special award. Format and Rules 4 men/3 women, most current edition. Costume Rule You can’t play without one. Seriously, you’d be really lame if you showed up to Fright Flight without a costume and expected to play. Dogs and other animals We prefer you leave your pets at home. If you must bring you dog, s/he must be on a leash and staked/held at all times. Dogs running loose will not be tolerated. Hard Capping Games Two horn blasts signify the hard cap. There is no soft cap. When the cap goes on you finish the point. If the horn blows in between points, you will still play one more point even if the disc has not been pulled. The game ends after this point unless there is a tie. In that case, the next point wins. There are no time outs in hard cap. Timeouts Each team has three per game, no more than two per half. There is no timeout in hard cap. 3 Saturday Play All pools will have five teams. All games played to 13, mirror half. The start of each game will be signaled with one horn blast. The games will be hard capped at 70 minutes (two horn blasts). “A” Division POOL A Fd. 1 Fd. 2 BYE POOL B Fd. 3 Fd. 4 POOL C Fd. 5 Fd. 6 POOL D Fd. 7 Fd. 8 9:30 1 2v4 3v5 2v4 3v5 2v4 3v5 2v4 3v5 11:00 2 1v3 4v5 1v3 4v5 1v3 4v5 1v3 4v5 12:30 4 1v5 2v3 1v5 2v3 1v5 2v3 1v5 2v3 2:00 5 1v2 3v4 1v2 3v4 1v2 3v4 1v2 3v4 3:30 3 1v4 2v5 1v4 2v5 1v4 2v5 1v4 2v5 Ghoul Division BYE POOL E Fd. 9 Fd. 10 POOL F Fd. 11 Fd. 12 POOL G Fd. 13 Fd. 14 9:30 1 2v4 3v5 2v4 3v5 2v4 3v5 11:00 2 1v3 4v5 1v3 4v5 1v3 4v5 12:30 4 1v5 2v3 1v5 2v3 1v5 2v3 2:00 5 1v2 3v4 1v2 3v4 1v2 3v4 3:30 3 1v4 2v5 1v4 2v5 1v4 2v5 To ensure accurate seedings for Sunday, all winning captains must report scores to Frisbee Central after each game on Saturday.
