*Hymn of Praise
Shirley Murray, Hymnal #635
And Jesus said: don’t be afraid.
I’ve come to turn your fear to hope;
I’ve come to take you through the deep;
To be your friend until the end,
And give your troubled heart to sleep.
And Jesus said; don’t be afraid.
For in God’s home you have a room,
A place of welcome and delight;
A place where God will hold you tight.

One Pair of Hands
Anthem
One pair of hands built the mountains
One pair of hands formed the sea
And one pair of hands made the sun
And the moon every bird every flower every tree
Psalm 51:1-4, 10,11
Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions.
One pair of hands formed the valleys,
The ocean, the rivers and the sand
His hands are so strong so when life goes wrong
Put your faith in the one pair of hands
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.
Against you, you alone, have I sinned, and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you are justified in your sentence
and blameless when you pass judgment.
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.
Do not cast me away from your presence,
and do not take your holy spirit from me.
Cathy Gorman, Soloist

Hymnal #477
Lord you are the quiet center in the crowded life we lead.
You’re the room for hope to enter, you’re the space where we are freed.
Clear the chaos and the clutter, clear our eyes, that we may see;
All the things that really matter and at peace we’ll simply be.

MEMBERS AND FRIENDS: We will be hosting the 5rd Annual Trunk or Treat &
Tailgate event on Friday, Oct. 31st from 6-8 pm in our parking lot. Last
year we served 500+ children, most from the
surrounding neighborhood. We need significant
donations of candy or other fall give-a-ways and, of
course, volunteers to decorate cars and trunks.
Decorations may be whatever you wish. Sign up sheet
is on the antique communion table. We need around 12
stations. A sign up sheet is on the main bulletin board!
New this year: We will also be collecting simple
masks for those who visit us not in costume to help
them enjoy the evening.
LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL’S 12 ANNUAL “RACE FOR EDUCATION” OCTOBER

shopping, consider buying a few cans or staple items to place on our
food table BEFORE doing your regular shopping. The Mission
Committee will see that the food is delivered to a local Food Bank or
similar ministry following our Communion Sundays. Some of the food
is shared during the week as well. Let the sharing of food become a
weekly spiritual discipline for your family.
