Heavenly Realm Productions presents
"Nether Region: The Musical"
This is an original production by West Milford resident,
William D'Andrea, that follows the main character,
Emmaline, as she is given a second chance to redeem
another soul after she has taken her own life.
The show depicts the classic fight between good and
evil, featuring our Music Director, Ted Hajek, as the
Archangel Michael, battling Lucifer at the gates of
Hell! The purpose of the show is to raise awareness of
the all-too-real presence of the dark forces that lead
young people down the road of self-destruction.
For more information or to order tickets, check out
heavenlyrealmproductions.com or call 973-728-4204.
The show will be performed at
The Journey Church
184 Marshall Hill Road, West Milford, NJ
October 24, 25, 31 and Nov 1 at 8:00 PM.
Adults $20 and Students/Seniors $15.
The show is rated PG-13 due to the subject matter.
Any questions regarding the show or its rating can be
directed to the number above or see Ted after the 5PM
or 11AM Masses.

A FRESH PERSPECTIVE ON
THE SUNDAY READINGS
HIS WORD TODAY by Rev. William J. Reilly
.
Twenty-ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time
October 19, 2014
“I have called you by name, giving you a title, though you know me not. I am the Lord, there is no other, there is
no God besides me”… “We keep thanking God for all of you and we remember you in our prayers, for we are constantly mindful before our God and Father of the way you are proving your faith, and laboring in love, and showing
constancy in hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.”
We cite a new letter of Paul, who once again reminds us of his concern for his community of faith. Even when he
is unable to be with them in person, his letter becomes the source of encouragement and support. How do his
words apply to our reality?
Three things are reflected in the life of his followers – perseverance in faith, when so many have become indifferent or walked away; laboring in love, bringing Christ’s love and compassion to others, the homebound, in nursing
homes; showing constancy in hope, which we call witness, praying for others, inviting lapsed Catholics back to
His table and building up the body of Christ.
Why should I do this? Isaiah told us that we have been called, and we have answered. We have
come to know our relationship with Christ, and the fruit of that experience obliges us to share it with
others. He has given us a title – Missionary! Consider one person who has walked away or is
fearful or shy about returning. Pray for that person, and ask God’s grace to invite them back to life
in the church. (The second largest Christian denomination in the United States, is Catholics who no
longer live the faith.)

First Reading: Isaiah 45:1, 4-6
the Jewish people,
becomes the Lord’s anointed one, and through God’s
intervention, returns the Jews to their own country.
Second Reading: 1 Thessalonians 1:1-5b
Paul rejoices that the Thessalonians, newly converted
to Christianity, are displaying remarkable constancy in
their new-found faith.
Gospel: Matthew 22:15-21
Seeking to entrap Jesus in his speech, the hostile and
hypocritical Pharisees ask him this dangerous question,
“Is it lawful to pay tax to the emperor or not?” Realizing
their treacherous motives, Jesus asks for a Roman
coin, and pointing to the inscription of Caesar’s, he
answers, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, but give to
God what is God’s.”
