Happy October at the Avant!
The Avant
We conducted our first residents meeting in September. Thank you to
all the residents who attended and provided us with feedback, ideas, and even
compliments! We took your ideas to heart and have already implemented
many of them. The next residents meeting will take place on Tuesday,
October 21, at 11:00am, in the Media Room. See you there!
Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2014. You will have to travel
to an outside polling place on election day if you would like to take part in
this election and have not registered to vote-by-mail. We are encouraging
residents to vote-by-mail in order to avoid having to go to the polling place
for this and future elections. If you have not registered to vote since moving
to The Avant, you will need to register again and/or update your address in
order to vote in future elections. The deadline to register to vote for the
General Election in November is October 20, 2014. The deadline to
register for vote-by-mail is October 28, 2014. If you need voter
registration forms, please see Deeann in the activities department for help.
If you are uncertain your voter registration status, you can look up this
information by visiting: www.eservices.sccgov.org/rov/?tab=vr
Do you ever return from a shopping or personal outing and have a
handful or more items to carry up to your apartment? The Avant has small
shopping carts that residents can use to transport things to their apartment.
There are two carts by the back elevator in the parking garage, or you can ask
the Concierge for a cart if you return through the lobby. When you are done
using the carts, just give the Concierge a call, and our staff will pick the cart
up from your apartment!
The Beauty Salon is open by appointment only. To make an
appointment with the beautician, please contact Afsaneh Marandi at
(415) 430-5541.
We are tweaking our music selection for the music played in common
areas at The Avant. During the September residents meeting, residents
expressed their preference for classical music or jazz. Please give any specific
music ideas to Esther or Deeann in the Activity Department!
If you have any questions or suggestions for the Dining Services, please
