Our fall Box Top collection is here—Oct
14th-17th. Time to send in those box
tops you have been collecting all summer!
Help us reach our goal of $10,000 by following the directions below to submit
your box tops.
Tips for sending in Box Tops:
1.
Cut out box tops and put in a Ziploc
bag in groups of 25-50

Please label each bag with # of box
tops (25-50), child’s name & teacher’s
name.

All Bonus box tops should be bagged
separately.

Help your child win an extra recess and popcorn for their class (1 party awarded to the
top class in each grade level) or the individual
prize of having their name on the school marquee AND a pizza party for their class! We
will also reward the top two teachers whose
class submitted the most box tops with a gift
card to the Teacher’s Aid store!

Your Help is Needed!
Fall Landscaping Clean Up Day is Saturday November
1st from 9 am - 3 pm. Volunteer all day or just an hour or
two. Students are welcome to assist with raking, bagging, and sweeping.
Rain Date - Saturday November 8th
What we’ll do: Trimming, clear weeds/leaves/trash.
Also, we’ll update the 15x15 area near the main courtyard pond with new weed barrier/plants.
What to bring: Your own equipment such as trimmers, rakes, brooms, gloves, shovels,
cordless blowers. Trash bags/twine will be provided.
Pizza and drinks will be provided for lunch to volunteers around noon.

Thank you to all our wonderful
volunteers for donating time
working Family Night at the
Book Fair, and for donating
delicious treats to serve. We
appreciate your help!
Thank you to all of the wonderful parents that volunteered at the Book Fair! It was a HUGE success!! We sold over $20,000 worth of books and
were able to give each teacher a sizable amount to
add to their classroom libraries, as well as the
school library. Way to go Castle Families!

We want to wish a Happy Birthday to the faculty

The spirit store has new school themed items available
for purchase! There are Castle wristbands for $1.00
and Castle water bottles for $5.00. Also keep an eye
out for Spirit Store Gift Card order forms coming home
soon. Parents can send in checks in an envelope
marked PTO Spirit Store and the gift card will be sent
home with your child. For more information contact

Talent Show:
Our Fall Fundraiser, “Let’s Fill
the Apple Cart” is a check-writing
campaign that will run from
October 30th - November 14th.
There will be lots of fun prizes
and challenges! More details will
be sent home with students on
October 30th.
PTO Board Members are working
on plans for the Family Carnival
which will be held in the Spring.
The past few years we have paid a
photobooth printing business to
attend the Carnival and offer pictures for sale to the students. We
are considering doing the photo
booth ourselves this year instead
of hiring a third party. If you
would be willing to help us with
props, costumes, photography,
etc., please contact Tiffany

The PTO is planning to host a
Talent Show for John H. Castle
Elementary 4th and 5th grade
students. The Talent Show will
be held at Castle High School Auditorium on April 1 and 2. We are
looking for parents willing to work
on a planning committee for this
event. If you are interested in

It’s Party Time!!
Class parties will be held on Friday, October 24th from 1:30 - 2:30. Be on the lookout for more information from your
child’s classroom head room parents on what you can do to help with the party. Just a reminder that parents are not to
go back to the classrooms prior to 1:15 that afternoon.

Students who had birthdays during the
months of June, July, August, or September
had the opportunity to purchase books in
honor of their birthday
at the Book Fair. 87
books were purchased
and will be donated to
the school library for
Birthday Book Club. If
your child has a birthday
during the months of
October or November,
look for the sign up form
to come home around the first of November.
Just a reminder that younger siblings are no longer going to be able
to accompany parent volunteers while they are working in the
library. Unfortunately, I realize that this will affect some of you
and your ability to help out in the library. If you were previously on
the schedule and are not going to be able to continue coming in to
help, please let me know. We do have a few class times where we
are still trying to find volunteers. If you would like to sign up to
help out during any of the below class times it would be greatly
appreciated! Just let me know so I can get you on the schedule.
