SNAPDRAGON’S JOKE
Muldoon lived alone in the Irish countryside with only a pet
dog for company. One day the dog died, and Muldoon went
to the parish priest and asked, 'Father, my dog is dead. Could
ya' be saying' a mass for the poor creature?'
Father Patrick replied, 'I'm afraid not; we cannot have
services for an animal in the church. But there are some
Baptists down the lane, and there's no tellin' what they
believe. Maybe they'll do something for the creature.'
Muldoon said, 'I'll go right away Father. Do ya' think $5,000
is enough to donate to them for the service?'
Father Patrick exclaimed, 'Sweet Mary, Mother of Jesus!
Why didn't ya tell me the dog was Catholic?

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST OPEN
FOR NORTH EAST INCENTIVES PROGRAM
North East CMA are currently offering financial incentives to landholders
and community groups for undertaking works to protect and enhance waterways,
woodlands and wetlands in the North East region of Victoria.
The incentive funding, provided by Australian and Victorian Government programs, is available
to help cover the cost of environmental project works including fencing, tree planting, weed
and pest control, off stream water supply and minor bank stabilisation.
Funding is available under three programs:
WOODLANDS AND WETLANDS
The project objective is to provide incentives to landholders to protect and enhance the ecological
communities of Box-Gum Grassy Woodlands, Grey Box Woodlands and Derived Native Grasslands;
and Seasonally Herbaceous Wetlands.
RESILIENT RIVERS PRIORITY WATERWAY -NARIEL/CORRYONG CREEK CATCHMENT
The project objective is to assist land managers to undertake on ground works for improving riparian
land, to work with clusters of landholders to promote riparian connectivity, and increase community
engagement and capacity in the Nariel Creek/Corryong Creek catchment.
REGIONAL RIPARIAN INCENTIVES
The project objective is to assist land managers to undertake on ground works and improve their
capacity to manage riparian areas across the North East Region. To participate in this program sites
must be located on riparian land (adjacent to a waterway or wetland) and any fencing must be offset at
least 10m from the high bank of the waterway.
HOW IT WORKS
Landholders or Community Groups need to complete and submit a simple Expression of Interest (EOI)
form which is available for download at www.necma.vic.gov.au or can be mailed to applicants
on request by contacting the North East CMA office on (02) 6043 7600.
Expressions of Interest close 30th October 2014!
For more information please contact NECMA via email incentives@necma.vic.gov.au
or on the phone number provided above.
