Peter Christiansen _____________________________________________ _ of Admin or HR Of f icer Ty ped Name and Signature ________ BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION: The Shift Supervisor provides supervision to all guards on his/her shift, who provide security for the Embassy compound, CMR and DCR. Major Duties and Responsibilities 100 % of time The Guard Supervisor supervises the activities of all guards under his/her charge, and is responsible for rating each guard on his/her shift. The Guard Supervisor ensures all guards follow the written guard orders, and is responsible for briefing guards on new policies/regulations as well as threat information that effects the Mission's security. The Guard Supervisor manages on-the-job training for new guards on his/her shift. The Guard Supervisor is responsible for executing RSO's external security response plans in the event of an emergency, and is responsible for coordinating incident response for Mobile Patrol during emergencies. The Guard Supervisor also provides protective services for the Ambassador. The Guard Supervisor is rated by the Guard Force Manager. 15. Qualifications Required for Effective Performance A. Education: Two years college education required. B. Prior Work Experience: Three years in a related security field (i.e. security guard, military, police). Incumbent must have served in positions of increasing responsibility. C. Post Entry Training: EER drafting course and locally offered supervisory management courses as appropriate. D. Language Proficiency: Level III in English and Armenian. E. Job Knowledge: Understanding of physical security fundamentals required. F. Skills and Abilities: Computer literate (Microsoft Word and Windows), and knowledge of PR 24 baton, Itemizer explosive detection equipment, X-ray machines, and metal detectors. Must be able to type at level 1, less than 40 words a minute. G. Physical Fitness: All mail guards must be able to complete a minimum of 20 push-ups in one minutes, 25 sit-ups in one minute, and run 2.4 km in 16 minutes. All female guards must be able to complete a minimum of 20 push-ups (on knees) in one minute, 25 sit-ups in one minute, and run 2.4 km in 16 minutes. 16. Position Elements A. Supervision Received: Supervision provided directly by Guard Force manager and indirectly by RSO. B. Supervision Exercised: Supervises 25 security guards and one guard receptionist during a shift. C. Available Guidelines: Post-specific Local Guard Force orders. D. Exercise of Judgment: Good judgment is a must. A Guard Supervisor is required to determine the validity of all access requests to the Embassy, and ensure all visitors have proper documentation and escort for entry. After hours, Guard Supervisors are required to provide initial response to all security incidents that come their way, and identify when notifications to Marine Security Guards and/or senior RSO personnel is required. Nature, Level and Purpose of Contacts: Guard Supervisors are expected to maintain working level contacts among host-country law enforcement personnel that provide protective security services to the Embassy. G. Time Expected to Reach Full Performance Level: Six months.
