Minimum Educational Qualification, desirable qualification &
Experience etc.
Ph.D. with first class in Master’s or B.Tech Degree in the
appropriate branch or equivalent with a very good academic record
throughout and a minimum of ten years’ experience out of which at
least 05 years at the level of Associate Professor or equivalent
grade in a University, College or Accredited Research
Institution/Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research; and a
minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy paper.
Ph.D. with first class in Master’s or B.Tech Degree in the
appropriate branch or equivalent with a very good academic record
throughout and a minimum of eight years’ of experience of
teaching and/or research at the level of Assistant Professor or
equivalent grade in a University, College or Accredited Research
Institution/Industry excluding the period of Ph.D. research; and a
minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy paper.

with Ph.D. in the appropriate branch of Engg. with a very good Rs.15600-39100/academic record throughout. For Science and Humanities Group, AGP Rs.6000/NET/SLET/SET shall remain the minimum eligibility condition.
However, candidates, who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in
accordance with the UGC Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted
from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of
NET/SLET/SET.

Interested persons may submit the softcopy of their application in prescribed format as given on the Institute
website www.nerist.ac.in through email to neristregistrar@gmail.com / registrar@nerist.ac.in. The email
application should contain the main application, the API score card, and the summary sheet. The last date of
submitting application through email is 20.11.2014. The signed hard copy of the application along with certified
copies of all certificates/ documents, two copies of passport size photograph (one should be pasted on the form),
and a non-refundable application fee of Rs.200/- for SC/ST and Rs.500/- for others in the form of Demand Draft
drawn in favour of Director, NERIST and payable at SBI Nirjuli (Code No.9535), Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh should
reach the Registrar, NERIST, Nirjuli (Itanagar) –791109, Arunachal Pradesh on or before 25.11.2014, in an envelope
superscribed with “Application for the post of ________________”, by Registered/Speed Post.

Filled in applications only in prescribed format received through email followed by signed hardcopy by post
will be entertained;
Submission of API Score in the prescribed format (Annexure-II) and acquiring minimum score as stipulated is
essential for the post of Professor and Associate Professor as per UGC regulation;
Incomplete applications and/or applications received after the due date shall summarily be rejected and no
further correspondence in this matter shall be entertained;
Vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease;
The pay bands carry other allowances admissible as per Government of India rules;
Institute reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all of the vacancies advertised;
Applications received in response to the advertisement will be scrutinized and short-listed candidates will only
be called for interview. Mere fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria laid down in the advertisement does
not entitle automatically a candidate to be called for interview. The decision of the Institute Authority for
short-listing of candidates shall be final and binding;
Depending on availability of qualified candidates, different departments may set different short-listing criteria;
Superannuated & retired employees can also be considered for contract/tenure employment;
No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays, conduct and
result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview;
Persons employed in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSUs/ Autonomous Institutions should submit their applications
through proper channel;

Canvassing in any form would lead to disqualification of candidature;
Any change of address should be communicated at once;
To and fro 3AC rail fare and/or bus fare, if applicable, by shortest route shall be paid on attending the
interview and on production of original tickets;
The Demand Draft should not be drawn before the date of issue of this advertisement and after the closing
date of receipt of application and also should have validity at least for six months.
Candidates willing to apply for two or more posts must submit separate applications and fees, if applicable, for
each post, in separate envelopes;
Candidates not found suitable for the post applied may be considered for next lower post depending upon
vacancy;
The Institute will not be responsible for any delay due to postal, email delivery failure, etc;
Call letters to the candidates will be sent through e-mail/fax only and intimated by phone;
In case of any legal dispute, it will be resolved only under jurisdiction of Guwahati High Court, Itanagar
