Participated at the following trade shows:
1. ITB ( 10- 14 March 2010)
2. SAT Pre-ITB Trade Workshop
The purpose of attending ITB
• To activate KZN 2010 (To affirm our readiness to host the world
cup)
• Meetings with trade partners (including FIFA accredited Tour
Operators)
• Meetings with key airlines Emirates, Air Berlin, Air Botswana and
Air Namibia (Discussion around possible direct flights to KSA)
GSA Activities
ASA Monthly Newsletter
TKZN representative in the German Market, Tourlink continue to
distribute destination news to the Annerkannte Spezialisten fur
Afrika Reizen (ASA), a German based Association for the
Promotion of Tourism to Southern and East Africa monthly
newsletter reaching about 4.000 travel agents, 400 consumers and
500 media contacts
ASA Roadshow
Tourlink participated at the ASA roadshow in 5 German/Austrian
cities: Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich and Vienna
(Austria) from 11-17 April 2010. The workshop was attended by 300
agents which will be added into the TKZN database
Business Tourism Activities
TKZN participated at the IMEX, business tourism show in under
the South African Tourism pavilion from 25-27 May 2010. IMEX is
regarded as one of the most significant trade shows for the MICE
tourism sector.
The main purpose was to expose the newly established DurbanKZN Convention Bureau to the industry as well as to the ICCA
Africa Chapter .
Business Tourism Activities
Expedia
SAT partnered with Expedia INC, the world’s leading online travel
company, connecting partners with the largest travel market place
and unmatched global demand across 70 points of sale in more
than 55 countries.
In addition, expedia.de (German portal) is SAT partner in their main
campaigns this year (for 12 months) and this would be beneficial
for KZN to ensure as much inventory and offers on the site.
