Living Hope Challenge of the Word: November 9, 2014 Hope is a living passion and confidence. Prelude Welcome Praise Team - Holy is the Lord Greeting Mighty to Save Announcements Prayer II. The Revelation of Jesus Christ Special Music Hymn Brenda Mishler “My Hope is in the Lord” Number 540 (Children leave when dismissed, ages 4 - 6th grade) Message Special Music “Hope” “Forward By Faith” Pastor Rick Peter begins his letter to the scattered Believers by encouraging them to rest in a "living hope". This "hope" is alive because the Lord Jesus is also alive, and He cannot die. Peter understands the trials that these Believers have gone through, and more importantly what they are destined to endure. He desires their success and spiritual growth in spite of, in the midst of trials. The Christian "walk" is filled with trials, as the Lord Himself experienced and was victorious in. While we "hope" for rest and peace, the reality of following Christ is that there are difficulties to experience, and faith to be perfected. Choir 1 Peter 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” Today: 9:00 am — Morning Worship Service 10:30 am — Sunday School 6:00 pm — Prayer 6:30 pm — Evening Service/Youth “Hope ” Worship Service Announcements LADIES: YOU ARE INVITED TO Daughters of the King Tuesday, November 11, 7 PM Topic: King Ahab Leader: Hilary Taylor Location: Terri Sue Taylor’s home 2985 Leitersburg Rd. Do you know what Jesus did for you? Do you know how to have Eternal Life? THE BIBLE SAYS: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23 “For the wages of sin is death” Romans 6:23 “But God demonstrated His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” Romans 10:9 “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 Would you like to tell God you are trusting Jesus Christ as your savior? If so, why not pray right now and tell Him that you are trusting His Son? Your prayer can go something like this: “Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I need your forgiveness. I ask You into my life to be my Savior and Lord. Please forgive my sins and give me your gift of eternal life. Thank you for dying for me and saving me.” That’s all it takes to trust your heart, your life on earth, and your eternal life to Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “He who hears My word and believes in Him who sent me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” John 5:24 Now that’s a promise you can stand on! If you did ask Jesus into your life today, please let us know. We would love to help you on your new journey with Jesus Christ!
