MEMBERSHIP MEETING
There will be a membership meeting to vote
on a contract for Chazzon Dovid Stein.
In accordance with the protocol discussed at
the last membership meeting, the meeting
will be held on 2 dates to facilitate the best
opportunity for broad participation. The
meeting will be held Wed. evening, Nov
19, from 8-9:30 pm and Sunday morning,
Nov 23, from 9-10:30 am. In addition, as
discussed at the last membership meeting,
the members will also vote on whether the
contract should be awarded based on a
simple majority of the recorded votes or
whether at least 55% of the recorded votes
should be required. Regular (Full) members
in good standing may participate in the vote.

CONDOLENCES
We regret to inform you of passing of Rabbi
Yaacov Schwartz, the father of Moti
Schwartz. Moti Schwartz will be sitting Shiva
at 38 Edgemount Road, Edison, New
Jersey through Saturday night. Sunday
morning he will be returning to Boro Park to
complete Shiva in Brooklyn.
May the mourners be comforted among the
mourners of Tzion and Yerushalayim.

WELCOME RABBI HUMINER
Please welcome the returning Rabbi Yosef
Huminer of Rechovot Israel. Rabbi Huminer
founded the Chasdai Akivah fund which
supports 300 indigent families on a weekly
with their basic food needs, as well as
assisting in paying for weddings and the
needs of families after the birth of babies.
Please help Rabbi Huminer to help these
families. Checks can be made out to
Congregation Binyan Tzvi or OT. He will be
with us until Monday morning. For additional

sharp, Ohr Torah youth in grades 4 thru 8
are headed by school bus to the Arenas at
Woodbridge (formerly United Skates of
America) for a fun evening of roller skating.
We will return to the Shul at 9:15 PM...cost
is $20 per child in advance or $25 at the
door. Price includes bus transportation
to/from facility, 1 1/2 hour use of roller
skating/blading rink, roller skate or blade
rentals, 10 tokens per child for use at the
arcade games in the arena and snacks/drinks
at the facility.
- Save the date of Tuesday night Dec 23rd,
the very last night of Chanukah, for Ohr
Torah’s Grand Zot Chanukah dinner and
celebration. More details to follow as we get
closer!

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
HATZOLAH OF EDISON
Hatzolah of Edison is now in formation and will
begin responding to emergency medical
calls midnight November 16, 2014.
Stickers with the emergency phone number will be
sent home with students from
the yeshivos. Additional stickers will be available
at the kosher establishments in Edison/HP.
NOTICE FROM EDISON POLICE
In light of recent events in Middlesex County and
our community, including 2 car break-ins in our
community last week, Edison police chief Tom
Bryan communicated to us the following
recommendations:
- Do not keep valuables in the car & lock the doors
when leaving the car.
- Keep house doors locked at all times and make
sure to turn on alarm when leaving your home &
at night time.
- Leave outside light on at night.
- Please keep vigilant. If you see suspicious people
walking around, please do not hesitate to call the
Edison police department:
732 248 7400.
Chief Bryan confirmed to us that directed patrol
remains in our area.
As always, we greatly appreciate all that the
Edison police department does for our community.
MISHMAR AT RPRY
RPRY Mishmar learning program is held at RPRY
every Motzei Shabbat @ 7:00 Please bring your
own seforim. Cost is still only $3.00 which
includes, pizza, donuts, prizes and raffles
AVOS UBANIM
Father & son Motzei Shabbos learning is back!!
The learning will take place at the Agudah
from 6:45 - 7:45 every Motzei Shabbos. All boys
who attend receive a slice of pizza and are entered
into a raffle for great Prizes! This program is
absolutely free! Fathers & sons from all shuls and
schools are welcome.

The Annual Mesivtha Tifereth Jerusalem Melave
Malka will be held on Motzei Shabbat, November

Malka is dedicated to the blessed memory of Rabbi

YAD LEAH CLOTHING DRIVE
When: Sunday Nov 16th from 9:30 AM until 12:30
PM. Where: Cong Ohav Emeth (O.E.), main
entrance on Dennison Ave. thru the parking lot.
Please donate clothing in good wearable condition
only. Linens, towels, tablecloths, handbags,
cosmetics & hair accessories are also accepted in
good condition. Shoes are no longer acccepted.
Bring all in tied garbage bags. Men's and Boy's
black hats in good condition may also be donated.
An $18 donation is requested per donor (checks
made out to American Friends of Yad Leah) to
help defray the shipping & processing costs. We
are looking for sponsors to help cover the shipping
costs to Israel.
Receipts will be provided by Yad Leah for the
money & clothing (&/or miscellaneous items)
contributed. We are looking for volunteers at the
collection site to help with the bags and the

RPRY EVENTS
1. On Friday, Nov 14th, the Peace of Mind (POM)
community initiative will be hosting a
community wide Kabbalat Shabbat, in the RPRY
Beit Midrash, at 4:30pm, followed by a community
wide Shabbat dinner, in the RPRY gym. The
17 members of the IDF Air Force Unit, who will be
visiting in our community that week, will, IY"H,
be here for the Kabbalat Shabbat and Shabbat
Dinner. For reservations for the POM-hosted
Shabbat dinner, please make checks out to RPRY

Edison, NJ 08817. Cost of the dinner is $36 per
person; max $100 per family.
2. On Saturday evening, Motzei Shabbat, Nov
15th, RPRY invites you to join us in honoring over
60 RPRY Alumni who have served, or are currently
serving, in the IDF or Sherut Leumi, as we
dedicate the RPRY Wall of Honor, generously
funded by Sheila and Henry Schanzer. This
historic RPRY event will take place in the RPRY

FOR WOMEN
-Collecting Sheitels: Keren Kol Kallah - established
to provide orphan and destitute kallahs in Israel
with essential needs. Donated custom sheitels,
some brand-new, some gently worn, are sold to
women in Israel who would not otherwise have
the funds to buy a quality wig. All the money
raised at the sale goes towards a hachnasas kallah
fund which helps needy brides in Eretz Yisrael.

-Bikur Cholim OWLS (Overnight Women Labor
Support): If you are an expectant mother and
don’t have coverage with a family member or a
friend to stay with your kids when it is time to go
to the hospital, Bikur Cholim offers a
complimentary service. Volunteers will come to
stay with your kids during the night. Please note
that this service is only provided for maternity
situations. Please call at least 3 weeks before the
due date, if not sooner, to be able to make the
necessary arrangements. For more info on

Know – Attorney Andrew Economos covers the
ABCs of the divorce process, including: alimony,
child support, custody, parenting time, division of
property and debt, college costs, mediation, postdivorce issues, and more. 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
-JFS is seeking volunteers for Kosher Meals on
Wheels in the Edison/Highland Park area, and
office workers to perform various office tasks in

PARK MIKVAH
The Edison/Highland Park Mikva is open SundayThursday 8:30-10:30pm. Saturday night hours for
Daylight Savings Time, Nov 2 through Jan 31, are
7:30-10pm.
Friday nights are by APPOINTMENT ONLY, and
should be made by the day before. Fee: $20. You
must arrive and leave during regular hours, or
incur an additional $20 additional fee. To schedule

KEYLIM MIKVAH HOURS OF OPERATION
Ohr Torah Keylim Mikvah hours are, officially,
7:15 – 9:45 AM on Sunday mornings. Additionally,
the Keylim Mikvah can be used when the Shul is
open during Minyan hours. However, the Mikvah
will be closed immediately upon the end of the
Minyan as the Shul needs to be closed. Please
leave the area clean and neat.
