Holiday Giving Programs
Holiday Giving Programs When searching the NJ 2-1-1 Resource Database use the following search terms: Search terms provided below must be entered into the search bar on the home page of our website exactly as shown. For holiday gift giving programs, meals and holiday use: holiday toys; holiday gifts For meals for the holidays use: Thanksgiving meals; Christmas meals, Christmas baskets; Thanksgiving baskets To find out where to donate meals or toys: holiday donations In addition to what is listed in our database, we have received information on the following resources. This list has been compiled and revised as needed over the years. All locations followed by an asterisk (*) have been verified this year. Those that could not be reached by phone have a notation reflecting that we are awaiting confirmation. Many holiday gift programs receive referrals from social service agencies in their community. If none of the resources listed in our database or listed below are appropriate, people-in-need may find help through social service agencies that they currently work with (Board of Social Services in their county- see a county listing at the end of this program listing; local food banks; church, etc.) For gift giving programs they may also find it beneficial to reach out to local ambulance and fire squads which traditionally have sponsored these types of programs. The Salvation Army is known for the assistance it provides at Christmas. Call 908.851.9300 to be directed to your local office to learn what is available in your area. If you know of other appropriate giving programs that are not in the database and are not listed below, please send the information to Sue Ross at sross@nj211.org so that this sheet can be updated.
