Mewata Armoury 801 - 11 St W, Calgary, AB www.604moose.ca NOTICE DATE: 5 Nov 14 EVENT: FTX SPARROW (LEVEL OE) 2014 DESCRIPTION & PURPOSE: 1. 604 Moose RCACS cadets will participate in a proficiency level one field training exercise (FTX) at Rocky Mountain Cadet Training Centre (RMCTC). This FTX will focus on instruction and practice of basic survival skills for new cadets in addition to team building and leadership opportunities. Cadets can expect to spend a majority of the FTX outdoors. EXECUTION 2. Kit List / Required Items: Uniform: Wear Sports Gear(shorts/sweatpants, t-shirt/sweater, runners) Carry on hanger Includes: Wedge, dress shirt, tie, trousers (w/ belt), tunic, wool socks, boots. Survival Kit (ref: Survival Kit List, pg 2) Cadet Fleece Civilian Dress Cadet Parka Bag Lunch Black Gloves (optional) Other: See additional instructions (item 4). 4. Additional Instructions: • • • • • 5. A limited number of rucksacks, sleeping bags and air mattresses are available on loan for those cadets who do not have their own. Reservations are required in advance through the OPI. Cadets will arrive on Friday 7 Nov having already eaten dinner. No meal will be provided Friday. Kit checks will be conducted before departure. For their comfort, safety, and well being, cadets inappropriately kitted will not be permitted to attend the FTX. There is no cell phone coverage at RMCTC. Airline luggage (wheeled) is not acceptable. A small daypack is highly recommended. All items must be marked with the cadet's name.
