Clia Goodwin is a lecturer, editor, writer, musician and humanist. A Tulsa, Oklahoma native, Dr. Goodwin earned her PhD
from the University of Illinois. She was a lecturer in English and
humanities at the University of New Hampshire for 20 years.

The new Great Clips salon in the Kohl’s plaza on
West Street in Keene celebrated its Grand Opening
recently with $2.99 haircuts, balloons, their “Sudz”
mascot, and much fanfare. Keene Mayor Kendall
Lane dropped in for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and
they capped it all off with a live radio broadcast by
WKNE 103.7 complete with a prize wheel, drawings,
and free samples. They are continuing to offer $4.99
haircuts through November in recognition of their
new store. After the promotional period, the price
will continue to be affordable, at only $13 for adults
and $11 for children (10 and under) and seniors (65
and over).
Great Clips is a walk-in-based salon with hours
seven days a week – Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.,
Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Mondays through
Fridays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Though they do not
take appointments, they feature an online check-in
app that can be viewed online or downloaded to
any mobile device and allows customers to view the
estimated wait times and check in up to one hour in
advance and have a spot in line reserved. They offer
haircuts, conditioning treatments, and styling services
that include basic curling to fancy updos. Their talented stylists have an average of more than 10 years
of experience in the cosmetology industry.

actively involved in business, educational, and community endeavors in the Keene area for over 15 years.
