NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS First Received - Entries accepted on a first received basis with preference for Cocker Spaniels. From Sept. 24 until Sept. 30 entries of Cocker Spaniels will be accepted first. Entries for all other breeds will also be accepted starting on Sept. 24 and will be kept in order of receipt, but will not be processed until after Sept 30. Preliminary confirmations for breeds other than Cocker Spaniels will be sent out after September 30, 2014. You may enter these trials online using www.LabTestedOnline.com During the first 48 hours after opening, the initial limit of entries designated as either online or paper will be as follows: 25% online and 75% paper. If either form of entry has not filled at the end of the 48 hr. period, the club reserves the right to increase or decrease either one accordingly. Delivery Options – Entries received in the first 24 hrs. after the opening date and time must be mailed/delivered to the Trial Secretary’s P.O. Box. No hand carries will be accepted during this period. Express mail envelopes must have a signature waiver. If these conditions are not met, the entries are not valid and must be returned to the sender. PREMIUM LIST AKC ALL-BREED AGILITY TRIALS This Event is Accepting Entries for Mixed Breed Dogs Enrolled in the AKC Canine Partners Program SM Events #2014159807 and #2014159808 CAPITAL CITY COCKER CLUB, INC. www.capitalcitycockers.org The wait list will NOT be extended past the closing date of Oct. 22, 2014. The safety of the dog is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of this sport, and that their dogs are familiar with and are able to perform all obstacles safely. Please conserve as much space as possible in your setup areas so that everyone can find indoor space. The trial committee reserves the right to ask exhibitor cooperation in doing so. Ex-pens are allowed for multiple dogs. However, please use the minimum space needed and refrain from joining multiple ex-pens to form extra-large areas for multiple dogs. Puppies under 4 months of age are strictly prohibited from the grounds. Exhibitors are responsible for being at the ring gate when it is their turn to run. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Trial Committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such case, no refund will be made of any entry fees paid. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Trial Secretary will add a $25.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitors may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused, or barred from competition by the action of the Trial Committee. No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. Entry fee overpayment of $5 or less will not be refunded. Refunds After Closing: Full refunds will be given for bitches in season. Refunds, all but $5 per run of entry fees, will be given for injured dogs or handlers with long term illness or injury. The Trial Secretary must be notified of all refund requests in writing (along with any supporting documents) as early as possible after closing, and no later than noon on the trial date. Jr. Handler fees: $10 per run. (Fees include AKC recording fees of $3.50 for the first entry of each dog, and $3.00 for each additional entry of the same dog each day.) CONFIRMATION OF ENTRIES: Preliminary confirmations will be sent to all exhibitors who provide a legible, non-blocked e-mail address, SASE or postcard. Final confirmations/judging programs will also be sent via e-mail to those providing e-mail addresses. These will be sent after the closing date of October 22, 2014. Rosettes will be awarded to the 1st through 4th place dogs in each jump height division in each class. Qualifying ribbons will be awarded to all dogs receiving qualifying scores. Dogs must qualify to receive placement or qualifying ribbons and prizes. Perfect score ribbons for Novice and Open classes will also be awarded. New title rosettes and Double Q rosettes will be offered. One toy per dog entered (for the weekend) will be provided at check-in (valued at $1-$3). Dogs earning their FIRST MX, MXJ, MXP and MJP titles will receive a rosette and an embroidered towel. Subsequent Masters titles earned at these trials will receive a new title rosette. Those completing MACHs or PACHs will receive a special rosette, MACH or PACH bar, and photo frame. Those completing PAXs (Preferred Agility Excellent title) will receive a special Rosette, custom mat and frame. HS Cocker in each class – Special Rosettes will be offered. Also, a special logo/breed item will be offered to each owner (or one co-owner) per weekend entering a Cocker Spaniel. DOGS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER This trial is open to all dogs over the age of 15 months that are registered with the American Kennel Club or are registerable breeds that have obtained an AKC ILP or PAL number. Mixed breed dogs that have been enrolled with the AKC Canine Partners may participate provided their listing number has been recorded on the entry form. Dogs should be physically sound. Dogs that are blind or deaf shall not be eligible, and neither are bitches in season, aggressive dogs, or dogs suffering from any deformity, injury, or illness which may affect the dog’s physical or mental performance. No dog shall compete if it is taped or bandaged in any way or has anything attached to it for medical purposes. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians’ recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. Measuring and Height Card Information CLASS ORDER Dogs without a valid Jump Height Card/Form may still compete; but they must be measured/wicketed by the judge of record PRIOR to running in their class, and this measurement will be valid for that weekend of trials only. The exception to this requirement is a dog entered in the 24” or 26” height divisions. However, if a VMO or an Agility Field Rep. is present, ALL dogs without a valid Jump Height Card/Form must be measured at some time during the trial or cluster of trials. This does not preclude having the dog wicketed by the judge of record if the VMO or Rep is not available to measure the dog BEFORE its first run of the trial or cluster of trials. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to have their dog measured prior to running and failure to do so will result in the cancellation of any qualifying scores. This is a two-ring, two-judge trial. Classes will be judged in the following order each day: Standard Ring: (Note: Judging starts at 9:00 a.m. each day in the following order) – Excellent/Master, Open, Novice JWW Ring: Simplified Jump Height Card Process IF YOUR DOG NEEDS TO BE MEASURED - Please check the “This Dog Needs to be Measured” box on the Entry Form so the Trial Secretary knows to include your dog on the Dogs To Be Measured List. It is no longer required that you submit a copy of your dog’s jump height card with your entry form or show it during day of show check-in. Exhibitors are still required to have the official form/card with them at the trial to present upon request. HEIGHT DIVISIONS Owners are responsible for entering the proper height division. Dogs that run in a height division lower than their proper division will be eliminated. Move-ups for Sunday, Nov. 9 must be made by the end of the trial on Nov. 8. Dogs moved up will be entered at the end of the running order. FOOD SERVICE – “Chef Herb” will be on site. Notice This club does not agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC entry form for this event. EQUIPMENT COURSE FAMILIARIZATION (WALK-THROUGHS) AND WARMUPS: Handlers in all classes will be permitted to walk the course prior to the start of the class. A warm-up area (with a regulation jump) will be provided. The walk-throughs are restricted to handlers entered in that class only. Ring size is 90’ x 92’. The surface is permaflex footing (dirt/sand/rubber). It is NOT climate controlled. Hazelwild Farm may designate certain areas “off limits” to exhibitors and/or dogs. Signage will be posted where applicable. A limited number of “reserved” parking spaces will be held for exhibitors with at least 2 entered dogs remaining crated in vehicles (with handlers working out of vehicles). Email Lois Tickle in advance at agilityfun@mindspring.com for special parking passes AFTER you have received your preliminary confirmation from the trial secretary. Deadline is Wed 11/5/14 at 5:00pm. Vehicles parking in these spaces MUST arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. each day or the space will be reassigned. Vehicles parked in these reserved spaces without displaying the special parking passes will be asked to move. This is a non-smoking facility! Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property, including the adjacent field and parking areas. Smoking may occur only within the confines of personal vehicles. All dogs must be on a leash at all times on the grounds except when in the ring, when in the designated agility warm-up area, when crated, or when in a secure ex-pen. This will be strictly enforced due to horses being in the vicinity. In order to ensure that all dogs are under direct control at all times, NO flexi-leads are to be used anywhere indoors. Dogs (whether crated indoors or outdoors in vehicles) must be prevented from crate guarding. If you have a reactive dog, please choose your crating area carefully; if indoors, do not crate on aisles or near other high traffic areas. Be prepared to cover an indoor crate. If crating reactive dogs in vehicles, please park your vehicle in a remote area, and definitely not near high traffic areas such as entrances, potty areas or porta potties. Club members reserve the right to require exhibitors to cover and/or move any dogs creating a disturbance. Note: Any exhibitor found to be in violation of any published or posted rules of the facility or that in any way jeopardizes future use of this site may be subject to disciplinary action by the Event Committee, according to AKC guidelines. This includes, but is not limited to, cleaning up after dogs, disposing of waste properly, and keeping your dog on leash at all times except when in the ring, when crated, or when at the practice jump.
