This Sunday, November 16, 2014, the Parish of Mater
Christi will be holding the Anointing of the Sick and
Elderly during the 11:30 a.m. Mass. Those suffering
from either physical or emotional illness, an incurable
disease, the general wariness of old age or preparing
for major surgery are invited. Please do plan on
attending and also invite and/or bring your fellow
parishioners who may wish to be anointed but need
you to “bring them” or “invite them.”
YEAR FOR CONSECRATED LIFE
Pope Francis has asked the Church to celebrate a
Year for Consecrated Life from November 21, 2014 to
November 21, 2014. Our parishioners are invited to
join others from the diocese at the celebration of this
occasion with Bishop Edward Scharfenberger at our
Cathedral at a 7 p.m. Vigil Mass on Thursday,
November 20, 2014. Please mark your calendars to
join us in prayer for the consecrated women and men
who serve our diocese and our Church so well.
INCREASED OFFERTORY PROGRAM
Thank you to all parishioners who have completed
and submitted their Commitment Card to the Church.
For those parishioners who have not yet had the
opportunity to submit their card, a letter will be mailed
to you with a personalized Commitment Card. It is
important that all parishioners complete a
Commitment Card as we will be mailing out a
Summary Report of the program and need all
commitments accounted for in this report. If you have
any questions, please contact the Church Office. We
also encourage all parishioners to consider our
electronic giving method and to set up your
reoccurring offertory gifts electronically.

A TIME TO SHARE OUR BLESSINGS
WITH OTHERS
Once again this year, we will celebrate a special Parish Family Liturgy on
Thursday, November 27th at 9:00 a.m. As
in the past, all parishioners are invited to
participate in the Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive for the
needy. Donations of canned foods, non-perishable items
and money may be brought to the Liturgy. The food will be
distributed on Thanksgiving Day to St. Charles Lawanga
House and
Our School Children will be participating in our
Thanksgiving Food Drive. They will bring their food items to
a special Liturgy (8:15 a.m.) on Tuesday, November 25th
prior to Thanksgiving recess. These items will be added to
those collected by the Parish on Thanksgiving Day.
CATHOLIC CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
ERASING POVERTY
Next week’s Collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) needs your help. CCHD was
founded to end the cycle of poverty throughout America by
funding organizations that help individuals help themselves.
With a tradition of improving education, housing, and community economic development, CCHD continues to make a
positive impact in communities nationwide. Your contribution will defend human dignity and help those living on the
margins of our society. Please give to the CCHD Collection.
ADULT CHOIR REHEARSALS….(7:00—
8:30 P.M.) for Christmas will began Thursday, November 13th and continue for six

the Capital Region. Ladies, please come to our meeting
prepared with questions and ask clarifications especially on
how our ministry can help or do other volunteer work related to homeless families. Reminder—if you prefer to buy

EUCHARIST STUDY PROGRAM….You are invited to join
a guided four part study program on the Eucharist developed by Rev. Robert Barron. The program explores Eucharist as Sacred Banquet, as Sacrifice, and examines the
Real Presence in the Eucharist. Is the mass a little too routine? Do you want more out of it? We will consider, among
other Ideas: How does Jesus use banquet and how is connected to the mass? Does the Lamb of God symbolize a
kind and gentle Jesus? Are the communion wafers and
wine mere symbols or something more? Join us for the
third session on Thursday evening November 20 at 6:30
p.m. Light snacks and social 6:30—7 p.m., Program 7—8
p.m. There is no cost, nothing to buy, no preparation,
please call Ray or Marygrace Dansereau at 438-7115 evenings and weekends. The program is held at their home at
275 South Main Avenue. The program is designed for
teens and adults of all ages. Parents are welcome to bring
their younger children.
