Novotny serves as an Investigator in the Economic Crime Unit of the Johnson County Kansas District Attorney’s Office, where he investigates identity theft, financial exploitation, and multijurisdictional white collar crimes. Jason is a commissioned law enforcement officer and previously spent four years as a patrol officer with the Lawrence, Kansas Police Department. Before his career in law enforcement, Jason spent twelve years in the financial services industry. Jason educates local law enforcement and citizens about the current methods and techniques commonly used by identity theft thieves. Jason is a member of the Kansas City Identity Theft and Economic Crimes Task Force; a Postal Inspection Service funded task force.
