GSA – Annual Giving/CMU Phonathon – seeks Student Callers. Duties include: Responsible for calling alumni and friends of CMU to encourage charitable donations to the University. Callers must be persuasive, competitive, driven, positive, enthusiastic, responsible, outgoing, and speak fluent English. Previous phone experience is beneficial. For Event/Game Day Operations, duties include: Pre-event setup, event security, assistance with administration of event logistics, and post-event tear down. Building hours are 6am - 10pm with exceptions for special events. Other duties may be assigned. This position is a part time data mining position to support the capture, collection, and transformation of complex datasets so they can be incorporated into SAS Enterprise Miner or R software. This position requires the ability to manipulate data using SQL. A background in math or statistics is also desired to understand the analytical aspects of the data mining process. This is an outstanding opportunity to expand your knowledge in other fields of study such as business, statistics and computer science; the first three months of employment at the institute will be considered a data mining internship. The candidate must be a student currently enrolled in classes at CMU and must be enrolled in classes during the spring and fall semesters of employment. Duties include: Provide animal care and husbandry services, including but not limited to: feeding and watering animals; handling and restraint of animals; cage and bedding change outs; cleaning and sanitizing animal rooms, hallways, ancillary equipment; monitoring environmental parameters as required; assessing the presence of vermin and effectiveness of control efforts; performing animal health checks; assisting in the local delivery and transport of animals; assisting in the inspection and storage of feed and bedding materials; performing minor equipment and facility maintenance; waste disposal.
